Online check in and selecting our actual room was a big plus! This was our 10th anniversary and this hotel was an excellent choice! I am a tough critic and very rarely give a "10" - many 10's on this hotel and staff!

My wife and I travel to Greenville every year as we continue considering moving here. This was my first downtown stay. Due to construction, the hotel was hard to find and parking was difficult. We enjoyed the stay but would have liked a few concessions due to the construction. Like free parking. Nice hotel, great location and when the construction has been completed, maybe the parking issues will have been resolved.

We have been to Greenville a couple of times but this was our first stay at the Hamption Inn at Riverplace. PERFECT !!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back. Rooms were very clean. Staff was friendly and professional. (Especially enjoyed "Q".) Had a couple of specific requests of housekeeping and they were met to our satisfaction. Location is easily within walking distance of downtown. Very enjoyable stay.

I went to Greenville with 2 other people on a business trip. We reserved the room in advance and were quoted a price. When we got there and went to leave no one had their bill under their door so I checked out at the desk. After arriving at our training site we looked at my receipt and noticed that the price changed. We did receive the quoted price for the first night and a $60 increase for the second night and was never informed of this increase until we called.

Couldn't have been happier with the location of this hotel - downtown, and we were able to walk to everything (restaurants, events) in the downtown area. BUT .... it is also located on the river and adjacent to the park, so it doesn't seem like you are in the middle of a city. And, it was very quiet, even though we had a river view room. If you are a walker like me you can get to many locations without the use of your car.The beds and pillows were terrific. Bathroom had wonderful large stall shower. I selected a room on the 6th floor, with River View! Glad I selected the top floor. Even though we were up there, you could still hear the people, music, and kids playing down below. This was a $400 room and in the ideal place to enjoy Greenville. We so wanted it to work and be worth it. I wasn't. The air conditioner was terrible. It was either freezing or hot in our room. The window system was loud and clanky. It woke us up all during the night and it made this $400 "Ritz Carlton priced" hotel feel like a Motel 6 by the side of a highway somewhere. Great location, nice and clean but I'd never stay there again unless the A/C system was radically redesigned.

On my way, passing through Greenville with a motorcycle crew, not harleys, we chose hampton inn for its consistency in quality and service. But this one top them all. From the curbside to the coffee detail, the people, the rooms, even the guests. It was July Fourth, and we were in the middle of the biggest fireworks display in SC. This hotel is newer and nice. The location is lovely. The staff are sweet and helpful. The wifi is awful but whatever. The central reason you visit a hotel is SLEEP. You can hear people's text messages alerting through the walls. The elevator hums in the background. But the real problem comes at you super early. The second the fitness center opened it sound like someone was bowling. IN OUR ROOM. Which woke us up about 4 hrs (6:45) into our sleep--totally startled. We called the front desk. Th... Read more

I had the pleasure of staying in the Greeneville city center and it was an outstanding location and wonderful property. Located directly along the riverfront and along the River Walk, it offers direct access to all the amenities Greenville has to offer. If you stay, go out for a walk or jog and take in the Falls.

My son recently got married in Greenville and we booked many rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites for our family and wedding party. The staff (a big shout out to "Q" and sales office (a big shout out to Christine) were incredible as we also hosted the rehearsal dinner right in one of the meeting rooms at the hotel! Everyone took great care of us to make sure our stay was a memorable one. Greenville has an enormous amount of restaurants and activities to enjoy. The Hampton Inn downtown is in a... Read more

The hotel was sparkling clean, complimentary breakfast was wonderful, and all of the staff members were great. Perfect location for walking around Greenville and had a great view. Everyone we met, from the valet to the front desk and service staff at breakfast was friendly and helpful. My grandson didn't want to leave; we are definitely planning to return to Greenville and to the Hampton Inn.

My husband, sister, and I spent five nights at this property during our evacuation from Charleston for Hurricane Matthew. What a perfect spot to spend a spontaneous vacation--fantastic downtown location in a totally walkable city, quiet and clean rooms, and terrific staff (Nikki at the front desk is a real pro). A sweet gentleman was constantly cleaning the floors on the main level to make sure they shined, and the breakfast team went out of their way to provide service. The property tends to... Read more

My family and I stayed here for two nights. The staff we courteous and accommodating. We had to ask for a roll a way bed and it was delivered in a timely fashion. The breakfast buffet was just okay. The location of this hotel is pretty cool. My son and I took morning walks Laing the river with coffee and a hot cocoa. Well come back to check out the area again. When we do, we'll stay here again.

Extremely nice hotel in the heart of the city. We usually stay at Marriotts, but they were already booked for the Fall Festival. Decided to try Hampton Inn. I'm thinking after this I may join the Hampton Inn members program. This was more than a pleasant surprise! Great room ! comfortable size, comfortable bed, large bathroom, good closet space, 2 arm chairs, desk, etc. Very modern and welcoming. Also had a small balcony to sit and enjoy the view. Room up-to-date and the entire hotel is ... Read more

We stayed here to try a different hotel (instead of the Westin) because it's also in a goood location and we liked the idea of free breakfast. Check in was terribly disorganized and we waited for them to supposedly tell us when our room was ready. They never did. The hotel is clean and the breakfast area is spotless. Some of the breakfast items are good. The hotel room only had paper cups, no glasses. There was no room safe, which is something I've never experienced in a decent hotel. Back to W... Read more

Excellent location and stay. Booked seven rooms for family for wedding. Each member said the accommodations and staff were fantastic. We live in Spartanburg and will visit again. Surrounding restaurants are excellent.
