I am not recommending this hotel because: 1) Terrible Internet Service 2) Bathroom needs renovation 3) Swimming Pool and Exercise room closed for Renovations 4) Location of Hotel not near any good restaurants 5) Too Many Dogs Check in was quick and efficient. The hotel lobby and rooms ( except the bathroom) have been renovated and is very nice, with new TV, microwave and fridge and new bed. A/C was a little loud, but worked just fine. Breakfast was the typical breakfast but was very good wit... Read more

We have been staying there over the last ten years. This time for the baseball series between USC and Florida . We travel with our dogs, the hotel is very pet friendly . The staff is very helpful and they try hard to please you. The lady who works the breakfast has been there at least ten years. She does a great job, she'll do anything she can to make it a pleasant experience.

Great place to stay when travelling with two Shetland Sheepdogs. We love staying at the La Quinta chain when we travel with our dogs. The hotel was clean, the room OK, but the beds were smaller than we normally find in a hotel room. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We would stay here again.

We were disappointed in our recent stay. We has reserved a handicapped accessible king & the hotel did not have a record of this & gave us two doubles on a high floor. They did change us to a king & told us much of the first floor was being renovated. At 12:30 am the front desk called & woke us to see if anyone was in our room. They thought the room was vacant.I hope this does not happen to anyone else. We like La Quinta because they are very pet friendly but doubt we would stay here again.

We always stay at this chain but this has to be one of it's weakest links. Carpets, walls, plumbing all needed updating badly. Felt like I was staying in the $50 rather than $96 chains. Both my wife and myself felt like we narrowly averted a disaster because the hot water in the shower was scaldingly hot and extremely difficult to control. Definitely won't be staying there again.

Sure the La Quinta is not a 5 star hotel with 5 star amenities - but I gave it a 5 star rating because there were no downsides and it provided everything I needed. First, all 4-5 members of hotel staff I encountered were beyond pleasant, bubbly and helpful. Second, my room was very clean and tidy upon arrival. Third, they allow pets & have doggy waste bag stations on the property!! Super helpful as I was traveling with my dog for work to head on to vacation. Wifi actually worked and worked ... Read more

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is convenient to I-77 and has always been quiet. Check-in has always been fast and staff pleasant. The rooms are nice and the hotel is clean. There are several choices for breakfast. My biggest complaint is that they only have TWO luggage carts for this entire hotel! We travel with a cat which requires extra 'luggage' so it's important to have a cart available. We instead had to make several trips back and forth to the car. The next morning we ... Read more

The mattress on the bed felt like some type of makeshift topper & was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was not clean & when reported concerns to staff the attitude was a "so what". We would never stay at this place again.

This hotel is in the process of renovation. My husband and I disagree on whether our room was already renovated, however it was certainly nice and clean. We chose to stay here because it is pet-friendly and 100% smoke-free. There was not a smidgen of residual smoke odor. The King Executive room was a little oddly laid out, with the sink in the living area rather than in the bathroom--but that is a matter of personal preference. Window coverings could have been better at darkening. The breakfa... Read more

I was so pleasantly surprised to stay at a very pet friendly hotel. It was exceptionally clean and had easy access to pet areas in the parking area of the hotel with doggie doodoo bags and their own trash cans. Unfortunately, not everyone uses those bags, as we picked up someone else's dogs droppings that were right under the can and bag. We always clean up after our dogs, and it's no wonder they aren't always welcome, because they have irresponsible owners.

For us this location is convenient and easy to find (traveling from Florida to North Carolina. This is our 2nd time staying at this Hotel. We stay at a lot of Hotel chains. LaQuinta is one of our favorites in the price range. They have an excellent Rewards program.

First of all this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The pee from animals was very bad in front of elevators, the room was not up to standards wifi would not work in the room had to go to lobby to get wifi pool was not open when I got there it looked terrible. I would not ever stay at this hotel ever or any others they have.

Arriving late, we were greeted very well and check-in was fast; our room was clean and beds were very comfortable. While retrieving items from my car, there was a uniformed security individual walking the property; area was secure and well lit. Breakfast was a full hot breakfast that was well supplied with different foods. All staff were very friendly and helpful; as a first stay at this chain, it was a positive impression and I would recommend to others.

Betty!!! Betty, is the most awesome front desk lady ever! She's funny, helpful, and sweet as can be! She needs a raise ;) I am here right now for my son's graduation from Army basic training at Fort Jackson. The room (117) is great! Bottom floor, right across from the breakfast room and vending machines (yet still quiet at night). Two double beds, mini fridge, microwave, shower head is five different massage options making the shower very relaxing. My only complaint about the room is the beds ar... Read more

We phoned ahead and made reservations to ensure a bed after a long day of driving. We were well attended to and was almost overwhelmed by the welcoming of the young lady at the front desk. She was extremely helpful, kind and warm....a welcomed change from a lot of places I frequent. The room was spacious with the TV the right size and the A/C working like a champ. Linens and towels were fresh and the bathroom clean. The continental breakfast offering (hot oatmeal and waffles) was a surprise... Read more

We stay at this hotel a couple of times each year when visiting family in Columbia. The rooms are always clean, staff members are friendly and helpful, the location is convenient to the interstate, and there are plenty of dining and delivery options. The free breakfast is a cut above the usual rolls and waffles, with eggs and bacon available. V. pet-friendly!

Have stayed here several times on our way back from Miami. Good value for the money. The rooms could be a little updated. Breakfast is always good, as with all the LQs. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Nice hotel, good breakfast, dog friendly. Decent location, close to numerous restaurants, gas stations and about 10 minute drive to two local breweries (River Rat and Swamp Cabbage, both well worth a visit).

Nice clean room. No charge for my pet. Nice clean comfortable bed, clean linens, clean carpet etc. Closet was a little musty smelling but other than that nice room! Stayed in a king executive room with a fridge, microwave. Very nice.

La Quinta hotels are wonderful, in that they allow at no cost for you to bring your pets with you. However, this hotel does not offer rooms large enough for you and your pets to stay, without problems with space in your room! It would also behove La Quinta to allow customers who make reservations on line, to be able to indicate that you are traveling with your pets ahead of time, so the hotel knows what type of room to reserve!

Overall, it was an ok place to stay. We knew it was a pet friendly place, which was good b/c we had our Maltese as well but our room smelled like big wet dogs and dog poop! I think that a hotel that also except pets should clean the carpets every time someone leave out! We were there b/c our daughter was graduating Basic Training , so Imma say it was decent enough for the two days we stayed. Hotel staff was very friendly and the room was clean except the smell of the carpet.

I stopped at a La Quinta because they are known to accept pets. I travel with my dogs quite a bit and when we go into a "pet" room, the dogs usually go crazy sniffing the bed spreads and rugs because they smell like other animals. We walked into this LaQuinta and the dogs did not react. There was no old, dirty bedspread on the bed but rather a comforter covered with clean, white sheets. Ditto, no reaction to the carpets. This is not a luxury hotel so again, it was really surprising to see ... Read more

Old and outdated hotel tucked behind a Shoney's restaurant and surrounded by shady parking lots and restaurants. Looks to be a former economy hotel property. Staff was friendly and the room was clean but this was a 1 1/2 star hotel at best. Bathroom consisted of a toilet and shower and the sink was located in the room's entranceway. Carpet was old and dingy. Comparison - a thirty year old Motel 6. Hotel seemed clean but smelled like a very old and filthy economy hotel. Unless you like old... Read more

The place felt very insecure. Homeless people approach you outside and scare the crap out of you. The desk staff was not nice at all but at least the maintenance guy was very nice. I didn't get his name but I think he had braids. We heard gunshots during the night. The room was semi-clean and cool. We were just very uneasy here.

Room was relatively clean (could have vacuumed better around the edges) and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Front desk personnel were friendly and efficient. However, the mildew smell in the room and halls and the high whine of the mini-fridge need to be corrected. The hotel is nothing fancy, but adequate.
