Stayed here on business. This hotel is right in front of the convention center. Right from the start, the staff was very friendly! Check in was a breeze and the room was wonderful. Very spacious and clean with upgraded amenitites. Their breakfast is probably the best I've ever had at any Hampton Inn. On our last day, we left really early and the staff had to-go breakfast bags waiting for us in the lobby. This hotel is in the heart of the Vista with great restuarants and shops close by.

I would have given this a 5 star but to pay for parking is CRAZY, especially when you are paying 229.00 for a room that you are in for less then 24 hours. I did complain at check in and instead of comping the parking. I was told to read the fine print. Parking was close to 13 dollars, again for less than 24 hours. It wasn't busy or crowded the Thursday night we were there. Room was clean and well decorated. A small issue with our refrigerator was fixed promptly.

We look for Hampton Inn & Suites whenever possible and this was no exception. We were looking for somewhere quick and easy to stay when trying to avoid Tropical Storm Bonnie. We were able to get a room quickly and easily and did automatic check in. We found the inn quickly and easily and were surprised to see a gate at the parking lot for it, but went in and parked fairly easily. The room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. I love the Hampton brand and stay here when I can. This is a beautiful little hotel in Columbia, SC. I booked it because of the location. The rooms were large and clean and the beds were fantastic. The staff was very friendly. The only criticism I would have is that on the Gervais St., the door to the lobby is a tiny door with a sign that tells you to park around back. So when you go around back, the lot has signs that tell you you'll be towed without a permit. It wasn't clear if I needed... Read more

Stayed here for 1 night in July and everything was very solid. The hotel is right in downtown Columbia, centrally located to USC as well as many bars and restaurants. Rooms were clean and updated, exactly what you would expect from a Hampton. If anything, the lobby area was a bit small and crowded, but that is to be expected from a downtown hotel - if coming to Columbia, this is a place I would absolutely stay again.

We were evacuated due to Hurricane Matthew and were traveling with my parents (Dad's health is not good). Even though the hotel was booked solid (for a football game and other evacuees), the staff remained calm, helpful, and nice! I'll mention a few that I got to know within the 5 days we were there, but there were others as well! Courthey, Justin, Jamesha, Thai, Oyuki and Big Mike, just to name a few. Also the food service staff. The rooms were clean and a very good size. Thank You!

Very nice hotel and friendly staff, who is eager to ensure you're happy during your stay. Only set back was the $12 parking fee/per night. Being downtown, it is understood parking is tough, but with the rate the hotel offers the $12 per day had me shaking my head. Other nearby hotels do not require this fee. However, that will not cause me to look for other accommodations.

All of the Hampton Inns I have stayed in have been very good. This is the best one yet. Entire staff was friendly and helpful Beds and pillows are the best, just like any Hampton Inn. The location is surrounded by nice restaurants and night spots.

Great location. Right next door to the convention center. Surrounded by restaurants and close to campus. Clean. Friendly. 24 hour free coffee! Breakfast was complimentary. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We made a last-minute (walk-in_ reservation here, to get out of another hotel where we were booked that was horrible. The staff (Zoe at the front desk) was so nice, helped us find a member) rate that was good. The hotel was very clean and inviting. Was in a great location, right in the middle of places to eat, drink and shop. Our room was a bit small, and had no view, but again, we came in off the street, last-minute. We were completely satisfied with our accommodations. Room was nicely dec... Read more

This was a nice hotel with an excellent staff. The location was perfect for nightlife as well. Plenty of things to do within walking distance. There was even a really fun piano bar right up the street.

I had a wonderful visit here! We had to nook it last minute, to get out of a horrible hotel we were currently booked at. The staff found us a room at a great (member) price and they were absolutely wonderful to work with. Room was a bit small, but very very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was nice as well. Our view was not good, but last-minute, I am just happy they found us a room. Complimentary breakfast was a huge plus! And they have a pool which my son decided to use in 67 degre... Read more

The staff and management where so welcoming and enjoyable. Great rooms and you can't beat the location. Only place to stay when in Columbia. I asked for help with places to watch the games and eat and the ladies up front knew the best spots. It was also an easy walk to the shuttles for the football game.

We always stay at this Hampton Inn when we come to Columbia. My USC son can walk to the hotel, go to dinner and lunch. They have a good breakfast and very comfortable beds and rooms with very clean bathrooms.

This is my fifth time at the Hampton Inn Downtown Columbia, and once again, it was for an anime convention held at the convention center next door (this hotel has the most convenient location to the venue.) This time, it was Banzaicon, the fall convention in town. My stay this time was every bit as pleasant as my previous stays - clean, comfortable, attractive rooms, above average hot breakfast, and friendly staff who were always welcoming me whenever returning to the hotel after my event each ... Could tell there was some age on the facility and the A/C made noise that disturbed sleep somewhat. The location was the best in Columbia. Very convenient to everything.Exterior very well blended into surrounding builkdings. Looks more like a higher quality hotel.

We had to skip a tour of the Biltmore Estate because we got into Asheville too late so we decided to continue to Columbia. This hotel is in the historic district and there are a huge number of places to walk to for drinks or dinner. The staff was very nice. The room very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. It turned out to be a great night!

We stayed at this hotel in the past as it is next door to Liberty Tavern, an old warehouse type building with good food and spirits. The hotel is clean with nice modern rooms and friendly attentive staff. For us it is about location in the downtown area when we stay for the night. Parking is $12. plus tax which i think is a bit pricey but you have no choice.
