Summary: 6/10 PROS: spacious hotel with large indoor lobby; indoor pool; good value for suite size; staff efficient and friendly; good breakfast & cocktail hour included in the daily rate; close to I26 CONS: bathroom dingy; some decorum updating needed; limited restaurant options nearby. The hotel is much larger than what appears online or its website. When walking through a very nice lobby, the expanse of the inner sanctum will be a nice surprise while the rooms and upper floors surround the ... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights - business related. Suites are large with many amenities - fridge, microwave, kitchenette area etc. Living room area is great if colleagues get together. Three of us ordered pizza in and watched NBA playoffs! Living area, however, needs a coffee table. Bed was very comfortable. Suite was very quiet to sleep and was clean, except for some mold in the bathroom - at the base of the tub. And some of the wallpaper appeared to be just starting to peal at the edges. I did... Came here for an annual conference. The hotel is on an ok location (near the zoo and easy on/off the interstate) but not great for much more than a stay. The hotel is showing its age and appears to need updating. My room did have a safe (nice feature) but many of the tv stations had static on them. The free (hHonors) internet is S L O W. Even the att wifi hotspot is slow. I'm considering upgrading just to get email. I had a 1 meg attachment that took over 5 minutes to download. The wa... Read more

Embassy Suites are usually a good choice of hotel, however, this particular one is not. I had reserved a king non-smoking room. Upon check it, the king non-smoking room was not available because housekeeping had not cleaned the king rooms. What a poor excuse. In addition, there was some difficulty with the computer so it took and extremely long time to check in. They put me in a room with two double beds. There was not room to walk between the bed and the wall for either bed. The carpet w... Read more

Excellent room, very warm reception and the service is great. This is the only hotel who treat you as royalty but for the fraction of the cost. Everything that is required of your travel needs are provided in your package. I will only stay at Embassy Suites as long as one is available. I would recommend the hotel to all, friends, family and business associates.

I have stayed at other hotels in this chain, but this one was a big disappointment. The bath drained poorly. There was no hand-held showerhead. The wallpaper was dingy and showed other wear. On the up side, the bell captain was very helpful.

We spent one night at this hotel, and will not return. The room was not clean-hair in shower and bed skirt dragging on the floor. The floor needed to be vacuumed. The couch had multiple stains that made me not want to sit on it. The breakfast was good.

Rooms are in need of TLC. A big factor in my hotel selection is if a hot breakfast if offered and the quality of said breakfast. I was on a time crunch and was at the omelette station at 6:00 when it was supposed to open. Breakfast station finally opened at 6:15. Once the station opened, I then noticed that the cook's utensils had dried egg remnants caked all over them. Front desk staff was excellent though.

We were in the area with my husband on his business trip. We took the kids, ages 11 and 16. We stayed Sunday to Friday. The kids and I did not have access to a car bc my husband had it during the day for business. The hotel shuttle took us and picked us up where we went. They were very nice. The only issue is that the bathrooms don't have an extractor fan and the condensation and humidity builds up. If the staff doesn't vent the room or change the curtains' skirts you might experience a humid-moldy smell, but only in the bathroom.

Very outdated hotel. Dirty foul smelling shower curtain. Had to have it changed immediately. First floor rooms are not handicap accessible. Dirty areas in lobby and the bathroom. Dusty furniture. Sticky floor in dining area. Several dishes were still dirty after washed. Indoor pool water was cold. Service man in our room unannounced. Said he was changing locks on our room. So glad I was not naked. Will choose another hotel next time.

I stayed at the Embassy overnight with some girlfriends for a wedding. The Embassy is always my first choice when visiting various cities. When we entered the hotel lobby, we were promptly greeted. We arrived about 2 hours before check-in and we asked if we could check in early and our wish was granted. The room smelled fresh and clean. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries. Our room was spacious, as you would expect. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. I give it 4/5 because it's a little old and tired feeling. The pillows on the bed were well worn. But those are minor issues. Still a recommended stay if you're looking for a suite in Columbia.

My husband and I stayed here for a Conference inside the Hotel and enjoyed our stay. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean and the work out facility had the equipment I needed to get a good work out in. The food was delicious. They had ample parking which was good since we were pulling a trailer. The hotel is located right by the zoo, maybe we will go next time.

Have stayed at this hotel several times and have noticed an aging of the suites. The furniture looks worn. We had stains on our bed linen. On the positive side, the hotel is convenient to the Riverbank Zoo. The breakfast is good and offers omelets, waffles, and eggs cooked to order. We understand that hotel may be making renovations soon. If that is so, the hotel does offer a good place to stay. If there are no renovations, the hotel is overpriced for the state of the accommodations.

Let me begin by saying I consider myself and Embassy Suites expert. For the last 5 years, it's the only hotel I try to stay in. (I usually stay in some Hilton Hotel, but ES is my first choice.) Was traveling to the NC coast and had a one night stay at the Embassy Suites. The staff was very much focused on customer service. As always, the managers reception and breakfast were nice additions to the stay. Only negative was the room. Food from the previous guest was still in the refrigerator, the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed and the TV in the living area did not work. I stayed at this location for a recent business conference. The location is great, right off the interstate and a 10 minute drive to downtown Columbia. It was also very helpful that the conference occurred in the facility. The room was very large with a bedroom, bathroom and living area. It was a spacious suite. The breakfast (cooked to order omelets, waffles, etc.) and happy hour finger goods were great. My only critique of the property is it could use an update. The rooms appeared tired with... Read more

Mostly clean, needs Embassy improvements throughout however. No special manager's reception for Gold hhonors members. Dealing with front desk: YMMV. Previously had excellent experiences, not as good now as a couple of years ago. Room telephone is poor quality and ancient technology. Plenty of room and somewhat helpful staff but a little inexperienced. may avoid this property in future if they do not make some needed and fresh interior updates.

This hotel is clean and somewhat convenient to USC. It is also looking a little worn and could use an update. It was very noisy due to small children shrieking and running around unsupervised late at night in the atrium. This hotel is definitely not worthy of the Hilton name. Maybe Best Western or Holiday Inn? The 4 stars they are given is false advertising. I would give it 2 1/2 stars most.
