With a New Credit Card comes New Hotel discounts right? In my travels I have stayed mostly with The Holiday Inn chain. I have to say that I have been generally happy 9 out of ten times. With the number of years that I have stayed with them; the bar has been set. Doubletree's staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The room was very large with all of the amenities that one would want. If you are not a member of the Hilton rewards program you don't get WiFi for free. That has always bugged me... Read more

This is a nice, clean hotel. The rooms were spacious and very well kept. Each room had a refrigerator, no microwave, and coffee. Sadly no breakfast included in your stay. We did not use the pool although they do have an outdoor one. The fitness center is quite big. The front desk staff was nice and attentive. Not a lot to do in this immediate area where the hotel is located -- but close enough to drive into Columbia.

Compliments: Spacious, welcoming lobby. Courteous staff. Ample parking. Convenient to the interstates. Large fitness center. Outdoor pool.. Complaints: Spotty wifi. Lax housekeeping in common areas, i.e., debris on the floors. Worn furnishings. Noisy air conditioner that seemed to work only in the "on" position. Stains on the carpet. Small, older LG television. In summary, there's lots to like about this hotel; but, attention to detail is missing.

I arrived at the hotel after an extremely long and frustrating day of driving, only to miss the entrance the first time because it is not well marked and what looks like the entrance is actually the on ramp to the freeway. After swinging back around to get in, I was greeted by a very nice front desk person and registered quickly and easily. This hotel actually has a special Hilton Honors Floor, to which I was directed, which surprised me because I had requested a room on the top floor. Once I sa... Read more

The Double Tree Hotel provided our group with excellent customer service and room facilities. Rooms for our scheduled events were spacious, easily accessible for physically challenged individuals, while also providing the privacy desired. The dining rooms were clean, well staffed and not difficult to locate. The food for all meals was well cooked and attractively displayed. An experience to remember!

I booked my room online, and requested a one bedroom suite that had a couch with a pull out bed for the kids and a king size bed for my husband and me. We were placed in a small dingy room in the center of the hotel. Our window overlooked the hall way. And there were two doors to our room. Stayed at Doubletree Saturday night while attending grandson' s basketball tournament. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I had stayed here twice before and would have given them a 4 out of 5. Not sure what changed but their service and food has certainly gone south. Checked in around 4:00pm and the room temp was 79 degrees. Ok, we were on sunny side and outside was 100 degrees. The hotel was noisy. They could use some baffles on the bottoms of the doors and an adjustment to the closers. Sadly, a large group staying at the hotel had a general lack of awareness that their doors were slamming shut making sleep impossible.

I normally stay here a minimum of 6 times per year. I am a board member and this location is convenient to my meetings as well as most of what Columbia has to offer. It is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. I normally reserve a suite, and they are very spacious and exceptionally nice. Room service is great, and the fact that there is a excellent restaurant within the hotel itself, lends way to convenience.

Broken furniture (Ottoman) had broken leg and flopped over when I attempted to move it to set down in the chair on Sunday. Phone did not work ever. No Clock or radio in the room. Dogs barking in other rooms at various times of day and night. The cable TV was not working for various network channels, so I had to go to a sports bar to see the football games, rather than relax in the room and watch them... Read more

I stayed here for a business trip. It was super clean and very comfortable; and the wi-fi was really fast, so I got a bunch of emails done while I was there. The staff was very professional. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a quick weekend trip to Columbia to visit the zoo. This hotel is very nice. It is a bit dated and could use some updating, however, it is still a very nice hotel. The room was nice and had a balcony, however, the room next door looked out onto the balcony and you could look right into the room. We were fortunate enough that there was no one next door, but I can see how it could be awkward. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was really good. It was a bit pricey, but t... Read more

Dog friendly is not attractive, did house keeping really do a good job of cleaning your room? People leave the animals or stay home with them. Not everyone love animals or like the ideal of staying in a room that was once occupied by one.

This hotel was the last one we stayed in on our 2 week journey from Florida to New England & back. It wasn't as nice as any of the Hilton, Hampton Inns, or the Homewood Suites we stayed in during our trip, but was the only hotel available in the HiltonHonors program in the area; everywhere else close by the city of Columbia South Carolina was booked. My biggest disappointment was there was no complementary breakfast, as is offered at all the other hotels associated with Hilton. The view was al... Read more

Lobby makes u think this is a clean hotel. house keeping need to be taught how to properly clean a room. Carpet and curtains need to be replaced, and elevator should be up dated. I used the stairs they were faster. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant was has good food but the bartender is slow and they ran out of martini glasses.

The Doubletree in Columbia, South Carolina, is like a lot of Doubletreesâ??it has some good features and some not so good. The good: The front-desk staff worked quickly to get me checked in when it started to get busy on a Saturday night after a college football game ended. The bartender was friendly and quickly took my drink order and made dinner suggestions. He recommended the hamburger, which was a good choice. It was cooked as ordered and tasty. Internet was easy to sign onto and reliable.... Read more

Arrived at the hotel after reading reviews, my mind was made up that the hotel was terrible. We checked in and headed to our assigned room, now it gets interesting. My husband unlocked the door, we entered the room to find it occupied. Our key was activated, the guest staying in the room their key was deactivated. Long story short the desk clerk was very apologetic to both families, we checked into the correct room and had a wonderful weekend. Very nice room and the customer service was ex... Read more

Columbia's hotel scene has always been "hit or miss" in terms of comfort and quality of the facility. This Doubletree is one of the nicest I have found in Columbia or anywhere. Room was comfortable and clean and the staff was polite and helpful. It was a really nice experience.

Stayed her for a recent visit to attend of USC football game. It was homecoming weekend and downtown hotels were sold out or very expensive. We settled here even though it was still $200 and not very convenient to downtown. Room was new enough although it was loud as our room overlooked the pool which attracted some exuberant guests after the game. Would be lovely stay if your business in Columbia is close by or if you don't need convenience to downtown. We only had to make the trek twice w... Read more

Had to stay in Columbia overnight for business. I guess I should have stayed downtown. Although the pictures of the hotel online look nice, it's not. They must have taken them right after it was renovated 10 years ago. For business, I expect some sort of included breakfast. The breakfast buffett was $16 and they wouldn't let me take any food to my room. The area it is in is also not very good.

We arrived in room 331. Everything appeared fine until my son was sitting in the floor and realized there was a half eaten pizza box under the bed. Pizza crusts was everywhere. I have small children and I thank God they didn't try to eat it. I tried to call front desk and realized there wasn't a phone in my room!

DoubleTree by Hilton Columbia South Carolina is in a great location but we did not have a great stay. After waiting over an hour past check in time for our room our first sweet was unclean and we switched rooms our second Suite was a little cleaner but still unacceptable we had to have housekeeping come and clean a second time in total we waited 3 hours past check in time to really get settled into our room the staff was very pleasant but they weren't very apologetic are concerned that two of th... The pet fee and in room dinning a bit pricey. The room was small bath really small. However it was a restful night. Beds were very comfortable. Not sure what else to say. Since they will no longer allow pets we will have to find a different place to stay. The staff were very nice and professional.
