I chose this hotel because of its proximity to I-26 and to Charleston, SC. The building itself is located within the beautiful campus of the Charleston Southern University which is a private institution of higher learning. Nearby is a mall and a slew of restaurants. The hotel check-in experience was painless and the woman behind the front desk was very courteous and helpful with my questions. Included in the rate was breakfast which consisted of biscuits & gravy, sausage patties and real scrambl... Read more

Great stay, from the check in to check out. A few improvements: gym was not stocked with towels, water or wipes to clean the machines off. I have stayed in several hotels recently and the gym was in tip top shape, so this was a bit of a let down. Communication could be more helpful when you ask a question regarding police presence near the hotel. Front desk didn't claim to know what was going on but the pizza delivery guy informed us that 3 inmates escaped and their car overturned near the hote... Read more

One thing I would like to see changed is that the lobby/breakfast tv had to stay on Fox News. As a result of the major system crash experienced by Southwest last week, our get-away plans went sideways! Wingate expected us Wednesday evening but we ended up driving 500+ miles and didn't arrive until the next morning. They were more than gracious to accommodate our unforeseeable change of plans. Our stay was a pleasant one. Staff very friendly and courteous. Breakfast needed much improvement. Eggs were "fake" and there wasn't much variety. The internet connection was deplorably slow making it difficult to get any business work done online. Overall enjoyed our stay but think we paid a little too much for what we experienced.

Beautiful hotel, next door to a university and directly across the street from Trident Medical Center. Recommended by our doctor's office - the hotel is especially considerate to the families of Trident patients undergoing surgery.

I was not impressed with this location. 1) My room was not ready on time, so I was late for my function. 2) The smoke alarm battery was low in my room and kept- beeping starting at 4 AM.. No one was in to fix it until after 9 am - made for a VERY sleepy day! 3) The yogurt was out of date!! NOT just by a day or two. I will say the front desk staff was nice.

The motel was in a quiet area and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well stocked and everything was fresh and displayed well. The only problem I had was getting to the motel itself. The motel sits back off the highway and the signage is not the best to find the motel. Once there, it is easy to get off and on the main thoroughfares. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Would highly recommend this motel and will definitely use it again.

For 150.00 Did Not Receive The Quality Of Service Expected. Same Amenities As A 80.00 A Night Room. Clock Was Broken, TV Romote Was Broken, And The Toilet Ran All Night. As A First Time Wyndham Member Was Not Impressed With The Quality As Other Hotel Chains.

Very comfortable hotel with a good location. The hotel is right off the exit. The Staff was accommodating and friendly. The staff could not be any nicer. Baked cookies in the lobby every evening give a nice warm touch. Breakfast what can I say NO Grits. They have packet grits. This is South Carolina how do you not have fresh cooked grit???? The breakfast was boring. We went out for breakfast, it was that bad.

The hotel overall was great.... the biggest problem was the bathroom commode made noise and ran all night. And one of the bath washcloths had a stain on it.

It was obvious that this was not a new hotel. It was clean and very well maintained. It was what you would expect for a moderately business type hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was superb. I stayed here with my family and would do it again in a heartbeat. Great hotel.

This Wingate is very nice, clean & very well managed. The rooms & beds were super comfortable and we had a great nights sleep each night. The full breakfast was great each morning. The lady running this one person show ( the only person we saw) did an excellent job of keeping everything well stocked for the many people dining each morning and she took the time to give us directions to Walmart on Thanksgiving Day, even called to be sure they were open. In my opinion, that is above & beyond. Emplo... Read more
