Beautiful place and artwork is phenomenal. The rooftop bar is the best but make sure you go to second floor of bar for best view and service. Food is good but not great at bar. Booked thru Travel Advisor or otherwise room was $100 more but with TA room was interior with no windows so hope you do not have claustrophobia. Booked private horse carriage ride for $150 and not same company booked that showed 15 minutes late and concierge did not even bother to let us know. Restaurant recommended do no... Read more

We also had dinner in The Drawing Room which was incredible. The location was great, we could walk everywhere. The complimentary bikes made for a fun ride south of Broad. We have stayed here t... Met some really great people while mingling on the rooftop. A group of US ARMY Airborne soldiers and trainers where enjoying the rooftop as well when we were there. We had a great time meeting all the soldiers and listening to their stories. They were in Charleston for training. This is a great stop as you are starting out on your evening adventure in Old T... Could not have been more delighted with the city and this hotel on our road trip to MA from FL. Desk diva Nikki and valet to the stars Mark made sure we were welcomed and our room could not have been more grand. An art hotel, there is even an artist in residence (never sighted) but art abounds in the public and private spaces. So special - we will cherish our visit!

Michael met us at the door, helped us get checked in, then gave us a tour of the hotel including the highlights of the fabulous artwork. Our rooms were beautiful, design, artwork, fireplace, soaking tubs and wonderful beds.Mark was there for us the next morning to help us get our bikes together for a fun ride thru the beautiful homes downtown. This was such a nice find! Unique hotel very close to everything-the water, tons of restaurants and shopping. Can't wait to come back and stay here again. Loved that it wasn't a cookie cutter, run of the mill hotel but had a charm all its own, especially all the unique art throughout and the beautiful rooftop bar.

We chose the Vendue on the recommendation of friends and are glad we did. The location is ideal being right in the middle of things. The facilities are top notch and novel. The hotel has great charm as it is built into old warehouses close to the old docks. It was restored within the last couple of years so it has every modern convenience while maintaining its old world charm. Setting it up as an art hotel is a unique idea that was well executed. One of our primary objectives was to purchase a... Read more

From the moment we arrived this 2 night stay was fantastic. The bellhop, Michael, not only took our cases to our lovely room, he told us all about the hotel, the local area, the activities and the art. The art is worth a special mention. The hotel showcases some great art, some for sale, which is changed every 3 weeks and all the staff are trained to tell you about it. It makes for a really vibrant and exciting hotel that you want to browse around. It is quite an old building, so the rooms and c... Read more

The Vendue was recommended to us as the preferred hotel choice for a wedding we attended this past weekend. Given the price point and hotel website, I had fairly high expectations. Unfortunately, the Vendue fell far short. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a harried and awkward check-in process (not well-coordinated). We were promised a tour and helpful information by the porter, a nice touch we witnessed others receive but did not ourselves. The walls and doors of the rooms are very t... Read more

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a short trip to Charleston, staying at the Vendue Inn. It's a charming boutique hotel in a great location, just steps to Waterfront Park, East Bay with all its restaurants, and the Market. My husband and I booked this hotel based on the rave reviews we found on multiple travel sites. In our experience, it did not measure up. The staff were loud up on the floor, housekeeping knocked and woke us up one morning and never came until the turn down service at night another day. One bellman was wonderful to us, another was argumentative and rude. The room was small but nice and it was great to be by waterfront park but the experience with the staff did not meet my expectations.
