I have been to Charleston countless times and know exactly what to look for in a great lowcountry hotel. This one had everything -- from welcoming cocktails to immaculate rooms, this Artdeco-style (yet very new) hotel was a luxury. I've stayed in Spectator's sister hotels before, and when I found a nice off-season deal on this one, I jumped on it and I'm glad I did. Tip: The hotel has free city bikes. We loved using them on our "walking" tour of the city. It's a great way to get around!

Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. Everything from the front desk's assistance, the butler service, the afternoon complimentary cocktail, the complimentary full breakfast which is delivered daily, all were delightful. Special shout out to Cody at the front desk who was extra attentive to my groups needs and Toby the butler for his services. The rooms are large, the bed and bedding were excellent. This hotel is what would keep us coming back to Charleston; it totally made our weekend get-away. Without hesitation, I would book here again. From the moment you enter the door and are greeted by the most regal doorman you've ever seen, you're immediately taken in by the unique decor and architecture. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful! The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully and designed, and you never want to leave the bar. The complimentary breakfast is amazing! Victori... We stayed at The Spectator for our babymoon in April and it was truly wonderful. Service is incredible -- there is complimentary butler service for each room and they really take care to offer dinner recommendations and help you feel at home. Our room was beautifully furnished - I did a lot of research to find a hotel whose decor was not too "antiquey" and The Spectator was a perfect balance of luxe, elegant yet modern furnishings. Absolutely beautiful, clean and so much attention to detail right down to the room keys and Nespresso coffee makers in each room. What really blew me away was the service though.... all INCLUDED in your room price. I felt like a celebrity. There was a cocktail waiting for me even before I'd finished checking in. We didn't stay at The Spectator so I can't comment on the hotel itself.. However, my husband and I visited the lounge area each evening that we were in Charleston and absolutely LOVED it! Not only is is super cozy and absolutely beautiful, but the service is also great as well. We actually stayed at a nearby hotel; however, based solely on the lounge area and what we saw while visiting it, The Spectator is on our list for lodging during our next visit.
