It is hard to adequately applaud this outstanding hotel. Every aspect of our experience was excellent. We were upgraded to a large, beautiful room with a deck space. The bed, the linens (sheets and towels) were very high quality. The interior design in the room and throughout the hotel were updated in a beautiful old building replete with history. We were very happy to have bicycles available and used them to get exercise an tour the city. The breakfast supplied in a basket was a great star... Read more

Perfect location for a girls weekend away! The lobby is small but gorgeous. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Only a 1/2 block off the main shopping strip. Not sure it would be a great family hotel, but adults will find everything they need in this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel with big clean stylish rooms. The rooms are like one bedroom apartments with a small kitchen and living space. The staff and service is wonderful. A basket of coffee and light breakfast is brought to your room each morning. We also used the spa and had a great massage. The roof top deck is fantastic with a nice view of the city. We had only 2 complaints. The bed was not comfortable with a bottom sheet that didn't stay on the bed. I also found it odd that there was no c... Read more

We stayed here for our anniversary. I mentioned on the phone ahead of time that we were celebrating our anniversary and the person I spoke to said he would see what they could do for us. I wasn't expecting much, but was surprised that it wasn't even acknowledged during our stay. On the plus side, the room was large, clean and well-designed. On the downside it was very dark w/ a view of a brick building and very little natural daylight. I'm guessing we were in the newer section, perhaps the older... Read more

On our first trip to Charleston, we spent three nights in the Restoration. The concierge was very helpful in orienting us and the afternoon wine and cheese is a great way to meet other travelers. We were told by a local that the hotel was originally a condo project so the rooms seem to be apartments, which is nice, but they weren't necessarily designed for the wear-and-tear of a hotel room. Breakfast is fun -- and there's a good coffee shop downstairs. Staff are friendly though we felt one o... Read more

This one of the nicest and most unique hotels that I have stayed at and it completely set the tone for a nice adult weekend in Charleston. The hotel is beautifully decorated (exposed brick, natural wood beams, modern accents) and is in a perfect location right on the main shopping strip in downtown Charleston. Upon arrival, my wife and I were greeted individually by name and given a tour of the common area and facilities. It is a small hotel (probably about 40 or so rooms), so it is never crowde... The Restoration boasts a convenient location to everything happening on King St - great for walking to restaurants and shops. I loved the hotel's unique amenities: a rooftop pool that was warmed in April (so relaxing), freshly made cookies in the evening (they were kind enough to leave a few in our room when I asked) and the gourmet breakfast basket that is delivered in the morning, stocked with your choice of yogurt, fruit, bread etc. While the room was very spacious and had a kitchenette, I on... The breakfast basket to eat in the kitchenette before going out for the day was good and extremely convenient. The location of the hotel is perfect - walking distance to most anything you'd want to do. The spa was nice as well - reasonably priced for services in a hotel. We look forward to another visit!

We stayed in the newly constructed building of the Restoration this trip and absolutely love the new space. The hotel has become our favorite for a variety of reasons. There is simply nothing to compare in Charleston. The new building is not only beautiful, it is well appointed. The new suites have a full size refrigerator stocked with refreshments and wonderful snacks available as well. The breakfast basket has been significantly upgraded with choices available from the new coffee bar on W... Read more

We stayed at Restoration on 7/31/16 for four nights. The Restoration is esthetically beautiful as seen on their website and other trip advisor posts. Simply beautiful. We knew as soon as we walked into the lobby that it was a very special place. Located right off the King St. it is close to many high end and popular stores. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The concierge was able to recommend several walking tours that we were able to take advantage of and the daily complimentary bre... Read more

A party of 2, we were thrilled to find this hotel and the price was really great for a midweek 3 day stay ($250ish/night). Some of our favorite things was the awesome barista from Oregon, complimentary breakfast basket (cheese, egg, ham, croissants), furry pillows on the bed (they were West Elm), the bikes (the black ones were much more comfortable to ride), lemon water upon arrival and that consistency throughout the hotel with the marble and all of the food products and the colors were modern.... My husband and I recently stayed here in an studio suite for three nights. The entire place is so nice and exactly as shown on their website! All the staff that we encountered were extremely courteous and friendly. We loved the suite that we stayed in with a small kitchen. By completing a card in your room, you could have your breakfast delivered daily in a picnic basket outside your door at precisely the time you request and was included. Also, daily starting at 5 pm, wine and cheese was ... Read more

We travel a lot and I know sometimes things don't always go perfectly. Everyone is due a bad trip every now and then. This must have been our turn. When paying $500 per night you just expect a certain level of service and this missed the mark. This was a mini honeymoon for us since we didn't get one due to us living in 2 different states right now do to our work. They knew this and didn't do anything to acknowledge it which was extremely unfortunate. The room was fantastic. It was a ver... Read more

Great rooms - enough space, modern but with a Charleston twist. The breakfast basket in the morning was a great touch, Really good gym a 1 minute walk away. Very helpful front office staff and concierge services (he gave us really good tips and arrranged a private sightseeing tour with "Tom" - great guide). Spa probably a bit on the expensive side but we would recommend the Restoration and would stay there again!

Let me list the superlatives: a 500 sq. foot studio suite, wonderful king size bed, valet parking, a full size refrigerator, a large walk-in shower with two large shower heads, microwave, a lot of free comps (such as water and soft drinks) in the fridge, which would be at least $3.00 a pop or more at most major chains, turn down of the bed early every evening, a wonderful rooftop deck and restaurant, and modern and tasteful decor in the room all for what I consider an extremely reasonable rate a... We just returned from a short visit to Charleston and one of the best things about our trip was The Restoration. We stayed in the signature studio suite and it was amazing. When we first walked into the room we couldn't believe how big and nice it was. The room had everything you could possibly need including 2 flat screen TV's, a sitting area, huge comfortable bed, and 1 1/2 bathrooms. The bigger bathroom was amazing with double sinks, a nice soaking tub and a huge shower. There was also a kitc... Read more

We had a memorable experience from the first moment we checked in until two days later when we left. The hotel is luxurious, modern, and had a "Ralph Lauren" feel to the décor which we found comfortable, creative, and soothing. The rooftop restaurant and bar, the Watch was wonderful offering 360 degree views of the city including the harbor and the suspension bridge that crosses it. We saw an exquisite sunset, ate amazing food, walked easily to the battery and to the market, enjoying all that... Read more

From the moment of check in, we were impressed with the staff, amenities and feel of this hotel. The location couldn't be better on a quiet area of Wentworth, literally steps from King street, highly walkable to tons of restaurants, shops and attractions. Our greeting was warm with a tour of the facility. The studio room was very well appointed with a kitchen, comfy king bed and a spa worthy rain shower. We loved how quiet the rooms were at night. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the Restoration. The rooms are much nicer than the photos, amenities are wonderful. It was our first visit to Charleston, to check out the College. Entering the hotel, amazing charm, with the true southern hospitality that you always hear about. The hotel itself is on the smaller side, so you get a sense of personal service, and that you are not just a number, but special. There is a warm library where they serve wine and cheese, or you can just ha... Read more

We had an exceptional time at The Restoration. The service was very personal. Chrissy at the front desk was especially welcoming. We took advantage of the whole array of assets: wine and cheese, reception, loaner bikes, nail bar, The Watch restaurant (amazing lobster roll), concierge recommendations, breakfast basket. We LOVED our one bedroom suite, which was a delightful upgrade surprise upon arrival (it pays to book early). The location was ideal. We walked to the restaurants on East Bay (167 ... Read more

We loved our room (4 nights) at the Restoration with its fine bedroom, sitting area and wonderful shower. We were, however, perplexed by 'the devil in the details' from a toilet that needed to be "jiggled" after every flush to nearly half of the outlets (and the USB connector) not functioning to having to "set expectations" with the staff after coming back from a long day of walking in 90+ F heat to find the room not made up and after asking, waited another hour (to almost 5 PM) being told that... We were so happy to be in a such a superior boutique hotel! The pictures don't show the real beauty of this hotel! The location is walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. But the bar/restaurant in the hotel (The Watch) makes you not want to leave! I would highly recommend The Restoration to even the most discerning traveler! We will definitely be back!

I loved our stay at the Restoration. The staff was very responsive and accommodating. I called less than 24 hrs before our reservation and was concerned about the weather forecast of 100% rain for the entire 5 day duration of our stay, since most of our planned activities were going to be outside. They were willing to change our reservation. We ended up shortening the reservation to 3 days. The hotel is historic, quaint, cozy, but 100% modern and renovated. Very sleek and modern. We were ...
