It is hard to adequately applaud this outstanding hotel. Every aspect of our experience was excellent. We were upgraded to a large, beautiful room with a deck space. The bed, the linens (sheets and towels) were very high quality. The interior design in the room and throughout the hotel were updated in a beautiful old building replete with history. We were very happy to have bicycles available and used them to get exercise an tour the city. The breakfast supplied in a basket was a great star... Read more

Perfect location for a girls weekend away! The lobby is small but gorgeous. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Only a 1/2 block off the main shopping strip. Not sure it would be a great family hotel, but adults will find everything they need in this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel with big clean stylish rooms. The rooms are like one bedroom apartments with a small kitchen and living space. The staff and service is wonderful. A basket of coffee and light breakfast is brought to your room each morning. We also used the spa and had a great massage. The roof top deck is fantastic with a nice view of the city. We had only 2 complaints. The bed was not comfortable with a bottom sheet that didn't stay on the bed. I also found it odd that there was no c... Read more

We stayed here for our anniversary. I mentioned on the phone ahead of time that we were celebrating our anniversary and the person I spoke to said he would see what they could do for us. I wasn't expecting much, but was surprised that it wasn't even acknowledged during our stay. On the plus side, the room was large, clean and well-designed. On the downside it was very dark w/ a view of a brick building and very little natural daylight. I'm guessing we were in the newer section, perhaps the older... Read more

On our first trip to Charleston, we spent three nights in the Restoration. The concierge was very helpful in orienting us and the afternoon wine and cheese is a great way to meet other travelers. We were told by a local that the hotel was originally a condo project so the rooms seem to be apartments, which is nice, but they weren't necessarily designed for the wear-and-tear of a hotel room. Breakfast is fun -- and there's a good coffee shop downstairs. Staff are friendly though we felt one o... Read more

Best hotel stay I have ever had. The employees truly cared about the guest! There was a slight mix up on their end and they did everything they could to keep us happy. They went above and beyond on all levels of the stay. We will definitely be back. P.S. The watch had great food!

This one of the nicest and most unique hotels that I have stayed at and it completely set the tone for a nice adult weekend in Charleston. The hotel is beautifully decorated (exposed brick, natural wood beams, modern accents) and is in a perfect location right on the main shopping strip in downtown Charleston. Upon arrival, my wife and I were greeted individually by name and given a tour of the common area and facilities. It is a small hotel (probably about 40 or so rooms), so it is never crowde... The Restoration boasts a convenient location to everything happening on King St - great for walking to restaurants and shops. I loved the hotel's unique amenities: a rooftop pool that was warmed in April (so relaxing), freshly made cookies in the evening (they were kind enough to leave a few in our room when I asked) and the gourmet breakfast basket that is delivered in the morning, stocked with your choice of yogurt, fruit, bread etc. While the room was very spacious and had a kitchenette, I on... Perfect boutique hotel in the perfect boutique city! The plusses begin with the perfect renovation to this beautiful old brick building. The juxtaposition of clean, modern touches in the industrial loft-like spaces are entirely charming and welcoming. Lots of space, light, and all the comforts of home: spacious rooms (and bathrooms), luxurious linens, and all the amenities are perfect. Breakfast delivery is via woven basket and includes fantastic coffee service, savory and sweet options. Se... Read more

We planned our visit as a weekend escape. The staff was nice and the rooms were fantastic. It was a special bonus to have one and a half bathrooms in our room! The breakfast basket to eat in the kitchenette before going out for the day was good and extremely convenient. The location of the hotel is perfect - walking distance to most anything you'd want to do. The spa was nice as well - reasonably priced for services in a hotel. We look forward to another visit!

Having never visited Charleston we just picked The Restoration, but were completely satisfied with our choice. The hotel is located near Market and King Streets, which is in an area bustling with stores and restaurants. Simply walk out of the hotel and you are in the mix of the shopping district. It is also a short walk away from the Charleston City Market, which is a major tourist attraction that has both shopping and horse carriage tours. The location is also great for seeing the vast amou... Read more

Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived to the moment we departed. The weather was terrible, basically a tropical storm...but we left that at the door and the amenities and staff made it easy to forget. The room was immaculate and luxurious, the amenities were ample and beyond expectation. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. Absolutely an incredible experience and we will certainly be back...and recommend others to this beautiful, indulgent property. Thanks Restorat... Read more

Everyone that works at The Restoration was super friendly and helpful-especially Kevin, the valet. He was so much more than the guy that got our car. He showed us to our room, pointed out all of the awesome amenities and each day gave us recommendations of places to eat and places to see. The hotel is exactly like the photos on the website-perfect!

Snuck away for a last minute getaway a few hours out of town. From our first step in the door, we had an amazing experience with Jacob at the front desk. Dixie in the Amethyst Spa was charming and gave an amazing pedicure, and the valet (So sad I didn't catch his name!) who helped check us out sent us on our way with a smile. This is a delightful hotel. We were deciding between this and The Spectator when booking, and chose this because of the pool and the promise of a little more room than a standard room, at a significantly lower price than rooms at the Spectator were going for at the time. We were very happy. Our welcome was warm, they got us into our room quickly even though we arrived before check-in time, and we had a wonderful room, even scoring an upgrade from a studio suite to the next larger size. My wife and I decided on a long weekend getaway in Charleston. I travel just about every week and live in the major hotel chains while on the road. We decided to go local in Charleston. The Restoration was the perfect choice. We found it charming. Great service! Great food! Great time! The staff enjoys helping their guests. We are already looking forward to our next visit this fall.

I was so overwhelmed with all of the hotel choices in Charleston and wanted to book the perfect one for our 2-night stay in the area. It came down to this hotel and The Spectator, I chose Restoration because of the rooftop restaurant, spa, and overall look of the property. I could not be happier with my decision! Hubby and I stayed 4 nights at this small hotel. The suite was larger than I expected. They include breakfast in a unique way that we liked: you order the night before and they deliver in a picnic basket at the time you request. You have dishes and utensils and an island at which to eat. Net/Net: the food selection is more limited than a typical breakfast buffet, but it's much cheaper for the hotel (which is reflected in the room rate). We had some issues with our A/C (on a very hot/muggy we... Read more

Stayed here 3 nights for our anniversary splurge and were graciously upgraded to a one-bedroom suite overlooking King st. Fabulous! A relatively new hotel which clearly wants to make a mark - and is definitely on the way to doing so. Feature a local artist's work throughout the hotel (featured artist will change every couple of months or so, I believe); this gives the hotel a wonderful touch of authentic Charleston culture. We were in Charleston for a quick couple's trip while our kids were away at camp. There are lots of choices for hotels in Charleston.
