I am REALLY upset right now. I reserved this hotel, but unfortunately, had the cancel the reservation (days in advance of the reservation and within the timeframe for cancelation). Yet after canceling, I received an email reminding me of my upcoming visit. I wrote to management and was contacted and assured that my reservation had been cancelled and that this email was sent in error. Yet today I look at my credit card statement and see that I was charged more than $500 for a hotel stay that ... Read more

We held our daughter's wedding reception in the Signer's Ballroom. It was a beautiful space and the assistance we got in planning the event and the professional staff executed it like a dream! Alicia Villegas was wonderful in keeping us on track and making sure the reception went off without a hitch. We've received many compliments on the delicious food and the beautiful venue from our guests. We stayed at the Mills House that night(we are locals) and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I wo... Incredible hotel the staff was excellent in providing ideas for things to do and places to eat. The food in the Barbados Room was amazing. A must stay if you are staying in Charleston. Andre at the front desk was very helpful in giving tips for day plans and dinner.

Clarence and Andre took terrific care of me and my family. We arrived early and our room wasn't quite ready so the Mills House staffed checked our luggage so that we could go get some lunch. I returned and Clarence took our bags up to our room for us. Could not have been a more helpful, courteous staff.

This is conveniently located hotel but is seriously overdue a deep cleaning---the dust in the vent in the bathroom was very thick and there was no ventilation in the bathroom--room seemed musty and tile areas needing cleaning---full-size beds are inconvenient for people who want to sleep together and be comfortable---had to get adjoining rooms to be comfortable and have comfortable sleeping quarters. Area has been in construction for three years!! Have stayed here three consecutive years and s... Read more

Not impressed. Was forced to stay there when all other hotels were booked Saturday night. No one acknowledged me for 7 minutes when checking in. I voiced it. I got a passive call 10 minutes later that offered no apologies or assistance. Lobby is nice; rooms like like they're in the 1970s. Threadbare covers on bed. I checked out the next morning.

This was our second visit to The Mills House. Loved it so much the first time, we came back. Great location, close to sightseeing and restaurants. Staff was super friendly and rooms very clean. The only drawback was that our room (double beds) for a family of four was a little tight. We did learn that the hotel has many different style rooms because of the uniqueness of the building. Something to keep in mind during our next visit to The Mills House. Can't wait to visit again!

The Mills House is conveniently located in the center of the old historic section of Charleston with convenient parking right next door to the hotel. I have stayed there many times in the past and it always remains consistent in service, cleanliness, friendliness, and decor. it remains one of my favorite Charleston hotels.

Excellent stay, room could have been slightly bigger, but still a very nice room. Excellent service from hotel employees as they always remembered you by name. Hotel was within walking distance to all downtown Charleston,SC attractions. A real comfortable and historic place to stay.

First of all the hotel was elegant and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff was warm and welcoming. We stayed here one night after my appointment with my oncologist at MUSC. We wanted to have a special night during the holidays. The weather was cold and I wasn't feeling well. I was aghast that valet service was $32 per day! So, we parked behind the hotel in the public garage and walked about 2 blocks to the hotel. Since the weather was so bad and I did not want to be out in it, w... Read more
