Other than a little construction noise, our stay was perfect! A quick uber ride to anywhere in Charleston and a great free breakfast! Our king size room over looked a beautiful marina. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

I recently stayed at La Quinta Inn for two nights on April 25-26. We traveled by bus. Drivers dropped off our luggage before noon while we went sightseeing in Charleston. We all returned around 5:30 pm and our luggage had not been taken to our rooms. We had to go and get our luggage ourselves. Got to my room and it was not cleaned. We were told that a new manager took over a month ago. Manager should be fired!!!!! Rooms were dated and nothing special. Breakfast was awful. I advise every... Read more

Be sure to ask for harbor view rooms but not first floor or your view will overlook cars and the alternative to harbor view is freeway view and noise. Overcrowded breakfast room. Pool closed-be sure to check status if you plan on a refreshing a swim after sightseeing Embarrassed as I recommended we stay here based on experience at other la quintas.

Very modern interior. Looks to have been recently renovated. Clean, comfortable room. Free shuttle to historic Charleston. Driver even gave us a bit of history! Free breakfast buffet was also nice, though pretty standard fare. Would definitely stay again. Location overlooks a marina. It's pretty!

The rooms were lovely and clean upon arrival. Great location. Easy access to downtown Charleston. However, housekeeping must not have wanted to clean our room, so they put the do not disturb or clean sign on our door while we were out all day. We came back late at night to the room the same as when we left. No bed tidying, clean towels or anything. We definitely had not done this ourselves. The next morning we went down to breakfast at 9:15 to find housekeeping crew arguing as they were tearing ... Read more

Based on previous reviews, we asked for a harbor view room and were happy we did...yes we paid a little more, but it was nice to be able to look out at the harbor and the activity...it was very quiet, The hotel offers free shuttles in to downtown Charleston and Marcus drove us. His knowledge of the city was very helpful to us. Should we ever return to Charleston again, we most definitely would stay here again.

Our first visit was awesome, we had a suite overlooking the harbor. The main hotel has been recently remodeled and everything was wonderful. The next visit we were stuck on bottom floor of overflow building, noisy, only one selection on shower head and water leaked all over the floor. There was only one trash can in the room and smelled like previous smokers had stayed there. We didn't feel safe in or out of our room. There were people coming and going all during the night, loitering around stai... Read more

This La Quinta location is perfect to visit historic Charleston. This waterfront property is beautiful. With all the amenities that we come to expect from La Quinta, this one will not let you down. We received notice when our room was ready and early check in was nice. Close to all the attractions and waterfront most convenient as well as just minutes from the airport. Thank you to the staff for making our stay one of the best.

I stayed in this hotel over the Memorial Day Holiday with my wife, 1 dog and 1 cat. The accommodations in the hotel met our needs and the location was preferred. We were within minutes of Historic downtown which made it easy to return twice a day to let the dog out.

We were a bit hesitant to come here after the reviews we read..... we were wrong! We checked in early after a day spent at Patriots Poiny (Awesome!!!!). Thea was working at the front desk and we were very pleased! The hotel had booked us a Marina View room, but it was in the overflow building. I explained that as a single mom traveling with her son, I wanted to be in the main building if possible. She didn't say anything and I thought "Oh no, come on!". Then she gave me the room key and it was i... Read more

We stayed at this La Quinta on our way from Kentucky to Brunswick, Ga. The location was on the Marina. The room was large and pet friendly with outside access. The AC worked great and the bed was awesome. The room was extremely clean and a good value for what we paid for the night. We ate at the restaurant right next door which was California Dreaming. The service was good but the food was lacking in flavor and it was expensive for what was on the menu. If you stay at this Hotel eat else where. ... Read more

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The included breakfast was good although extremely crowded when we were there. Not aware of any special events at that time. Our room was comfortable however sadly lacking in that there was no microwave or refrigerator. We felt for the price charged the room should at least have had those items. Other than that, great place to stay.

This property is clean and met basic standards. While it wasn't anything super fancy, it got the job done! The location is good, just a short cab ride to downtown. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast, so I don't know about that. All in all, it was an average experience and I would book here again.

Location is good, but a little tricky getting in and out of the area. It is across from a marina. This facility has 2 buildings with both hotel and motel type rooms. We prefer hotel type so did not see the rooms in the other building. The lobby and breakfast area were clean and nicely decorated. The room was acceptable, but not what I would have expected for a $200/night room. Linens were clean and acceptable quality. Beds were not the comfortable pillow top beds we have gotten used to at ... Read more

We changed last minute to this hotel. Check in was a breeze. We had an issue with our air conditioning in our first room- after making management aware, we were placed in a different room- no problem! Staff was super friendly and quick to act. Beautiful Property over looking Harbor. The hotel is close to everything. 5 mins from downtown. 15 mins from Folly Beach. Awesome location! We will be back!

Clean, updated rooms. Less than 10 minutes to downtown Charleston by car and easy route to Folly Beach. Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice, safe location on a small marina area. Free breakfast was ok, coffee was not great. We ate breakfast in Charleston. We moved from our first room due to elevator noise, but the staff was quick to make the change. The room looked like it was ready upon walking in (bed made, etc) so I thought it was just an oversight, but the bathroom trash hadn't been taken out and had some gross items in it. There were a f... Called just to make a simple request before checking in and was put on hold for over 45 minutes and front desk employee Paul hang up on me twice after I asked to not be put on hold again after waiting so long so that he could wait on other customers that were checking in after I called. I usually stay at other brands and wanted to give La Quinta a try but won't make that mistake again. Too bad because I like their commercials.

We have been to several LaQuintas because we travel with a large dog. This is one of the best ones we have stayed. Remodeled last year, clean, convenient location to historic Charleston and to Folly Beach and all main roads. There is a hotel side and motel side, we stayed on the hotel side. We stayed on top floor, marina side, very quiet. Pool area was clean, didn't eat breakfast there but looked like a clean area.

We have been to other LaQuinta hotels as they are pet friendly. Some have been okay and some have been just passable. This LaQuinta was a very good find. It is not only good because it is pet friendly, it is good because it is good. The location is about nine minutes from downtown Charleston. It sits across from a marina and it is great for walking along with your pet. The inside is updated, all a nice, fresh grey, including the rooms, which I thought were well appointed, especially for a LaQuin... Read more

The location of this La Quinta was excellent. It was located on the harbor and had wonderful views. The room was older and small, but was maintained nicely and was very clean. Staff was friendly, check in was slow, but the rest of the visit was pleasant. The beds were comfortable and it was nice and quiet for sleeping. If we return to the area again we would consider staying here again.

Kinda bare bones...not luxurious by any means but once you get past that...it was a great stay. Clean room with view of nice marina, friendly staff, comfy beds, frig and microwave in room. Typical mid-range hotel with bonus of a pretty setting, nice landscaping and being pet friendly with no pet fee! The lobby was a bit messy when we arrived around 2:30. The hotel was packed when we arrived. It was almost 6pm and our room still wasn't ready, but the girl at the front desk (Britney I believe) was very apologetic and trying to handle lots of waiting guests. A few things did bother me about our stay. When we reserved our room, I had requested to be put close to an elevator since I'm disabled and walking can be a chore at times. Quick overnight stay. The bathtub had a nasty ring around it of scum. The room was marina view, large tree blocked the view. We arrived late and were woken very early by the sound of the forklift at the adjacent marina and a rowdy group of guests banging on the outside of our wall and yelling loudly. We will not be back. I would recommend you find another place if staying in the area. One positive, the restaurant nearby was pretty good.
