The King Charles Inn is a quaint, beautiful hotel that although pricey, was worth staying at. Just about everything you would want to do is walking distance around town. I would recommend this Inn to everyone.

I came across this gem while trying to see if I could find a better deal with a visit I had already planned for this past Christmas. I instantly fell in love with the pictures of the Christmas decor.. but who wouldn't?! I immediately cancelled my other reservations and booked the King Charles Inn for a little low country Christmas with my family. My brother and dad were very impressed and loved staying here, as did I. We definitely will be back and might make it a tradition for the holidays. It ... Read more

The King Charles Inn was perfect for a short trip to Charleston. In the heart of the French Quarter we could walk to world class restaurants in minutes. The hotel is very quiet and the staff pleasant and helpful. Parking was provided and complimentary...a big boon in the downtown area. Very nice beds (king size), linens -- overall a very comfortable room. We reported a problem with the hot water on a Saturday afternoon and a service man came up with a few minutes to fix the problem. You can... Read more

The King Charles Inn was just what we were looking for. It's right in the heart of downtown between King and Meeting Streets, so basically everywhere on the peninsula that interested us was within a 15 minute walk. The rooms were clean and relatively quiet. The showers were really nice - quick to heat up and tall enough for someone over 6' to use pretty comfortably. The beds were pretty comfortable. Staff were friendly. Best of all it has free parking, which is a rarity in my experience of... Read more

We've stayed many times and have recommended it to numerous friends who all have the same great experience. The staff could not be friendlier. They do many little things for that many higher end properties do. PLUS, as far as I know, the only downtown property that doesn't charge for daily parking.

Lovely resort, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The resort met my expectations and the price was reasonable. Clean rooms and welcoming reception area. The weather turned cold while we were there and the fireplace in the lounge was a treat. On-site parking for guests is a bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

We are return visitors to "The Kingdom" of The King Charles Inn. Yet another outstanding visit with our favorite boutique hotel in the South. The accommodations are top-shelf and the entire staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Even though it was the day before and the day of Thanksgiving, they were full-staffed, or gave the appearance of being fully staffed. Hat's off to Maureen and her entire team!

We actually stayed here June 2014. We did a lot of walking during our two days in Charleston, and it was nice staying in such a central location. It is HOT and HUMID in Charleston in the summer. Staff was great. We will definitely stay here again!

Excellent : front desk staff, room noise level, happy hour red wine, cleanliness Acceptable : location Needs improving: decor of hotel interior, walls and carpets in long corridors are if another era and they don't make you feel as if you are staying in an upscale hotel at all. Not acceptable : bar staff . Guy that works here is unhappy with his work and life and ready to share that fact with any customers willing to listen.
