Historic Elegance
The structure, built in 1801, was fully renovated into luxury residential condominiums, and all accommodations have since been modified to meet the high standards of Charleston visitors. King and Society Hotel is ideal for sophisticated travelers that prefer the feel of a private townhome rather than a hotel or inn. King and Society Hotel is treasured for many reasons – location, comfort, privacy, and convenience – but, above all else, it is having a condo-style residence rather than a typical hotel room. Full-sized kitchens, large living and dining areas, and comfortable, spacious sleeping quarters and bathrooms set King and Society Hotel experience apart from hotels and inns.

Relaxing Accommodations
King and Society Hotel has beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows, and some units have exposed brick walls that all combine to create an atmosphere of being a visitor in the home of a sophisticated, urban-dwelling friend. Kitchens are equipped with high-end, stainless steel appliances and natural stone counter tops. Baths have premium fixtures and both ceramic and stone finishes, depending upon the unit. Comparable suites in Charleston luxury hotels and inns would typically cost much more. King and Society Hotel provides exceptional value without compromising quality.

Amazing Amenities

  • Full Kitchen w/Refrigerator And Microwave
  • Custom Leather Sofa Bed In Most Rooms
  • Spacious Living Room
  • Flat Panel Satellite Televisions
  • Private Bathrooms With Stone Vanity

A Little Charleston History
Historic Charleston occupies a peninsula that juts into Charleston harbor where, as provincial lore goes, the Ashley and Cooper Rivers meet to form the Atlantic Ocean. Charlestonians have good reasons to have such an inflated opinion of their city. Perennially ranked by surveys conducted by leading travel and lifestyle media as one of the top four US destinations. Charleston is a regional cultural center and has an enviable quality of life created by a blend of good climate, natural beauty, important architecture, and a sophisticated community around which a vibrant dining scene, shopping, and other lifestyle businesses have developed to serve both locals and visitors alike. King and Society Hotel is located quite literally in the very center of all of this. Extremely nice hotel and stay, but the location takes this place to the top. King street is at your door step. There are several great restaurants on the block. Having the full kitchen was also a big perk.

I stayed at the Quarters on King back in March. The place was very comfortable to stay. I left a very expensive flatiron at the hotel and called immediately when I got back to ask if they could locate it. They did in fact locate it and said they would mail it to me. I followed up weekly for 6 weeks and was told repeatedly by Kelly that they were sending the flat iron and the last week that it was in the mail. I then followed up again and talked to the GM, Scott who then said that the Housek... Read more

We loved staying at The Quarters on King! It is very clean with modern decor! The entire staff showed true southern hospitality while being very accommodating to all our needs and willing to work with us on a late check-out! Location is wonderful! Would definitely recommend if you are wanting some other then a regular hotel.

We enjoyed spending the weekend in a 2 bedroom unit at The Quarters on King. The location is perfect, we were just steps away from fabulous shopping and restaurants. The sights and sounds of Charleston were all around us, it was a fantastic way to experience the city. The unit was beautifully decorated. A great mixture of the old brick and charm of the historical building but with a twist of modern flair. Everything we needed was there for our comfort and enjoyment, big screen TV, Keurig Coffeem... Can't imagine a better place to stay in Charleston. We loved the spacious one bedroom unit at The Quarters on King, especially the very comfortable bed, beautiful decor and wonderful full kitchen. The staff was very hospitable and the location on King and Society put us right in the middle of great shopping and restaurants. We will definitely stay again.

Charleston is a beautiful city and there is a lot of excellent things to do, sights to see, food to eat (stop reading, and make your reservations for Husk now!), and places to stay. The Quarters on King, however, is not one of those. While the rooms are wonderfully decorated, the space is huge, and the price is right, the negatives outweigh the positives. PROS Space, Decor, Location, Cost CONS Communication, Cleanliness, Attitude Our stay started off on a truly negative note as the unit had... Read more

Recently my spouse and I enjoyed a much needed and wonderful experience in Charleston at The Quarters on King! Living in Charleston we have always discussed staying downtown to truly get to experience our city like tourists. That said, the location and accommodations could not have been surpassed! The location is in the heart of downtown with the best shops, spas and most importantly restaurants Charleston has to offer being few steps away! The accommodations offered 5 star facilities and we... Read more

Wae have stayed at the Quarters on King a few times now, and we love their large rooms, with high end finishes. Full kitchens with granite counters, stainless appliances, wood floors, great decor. Bathrooms are large. Location is in the middle of it all. You're either overlooking Kibg St, or Society, within easy walking distance to everything that you'll want to do in this great city. This is not a full service hotel, so no breakfast or anything like that, but Christophes right across the st... Read more

We stayed in room 301 which was a good climb up two flights of stairs. However, it was worth it. It was modern and felt luxurious. Plenty of amenities--kuerig coffee maker, large TV with Netflix, large refrigerator. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The location is in the middle of a bunch of shops and an easy walk to historic areas and restaurants. We parked our car (parking provided) and never got it out for the three days we were here. We'd go out until mid-afternoon, come back to ... Read more

Ahhhh!! I seriously can't say enough great things about The Quarters on King. We are from Chicago and chose to host a destination wedding in Charleston in September. During our initial planning phases, we stumbled upon this beautiful property and knew it would be the perfect place to accommodate our bridal party for an extended weekend trip versus a hotel. We rented all of the units exclusively to our guests to keep everyone close & organized during such an event-filled weekend and it was like w... Read more

Four girlfriends and I just returned from Charleston, staying at Quarters on King. We stayed in a suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a full kitchen and living area, all decorated with the latest styles in furniture and accessories. It's located right in the center of the tourist area so we parked our car in the lot they suggested and walked everywhere. We always felt safe, even at night . We plan on returning and staying at the quarters again- highly recommended if you enjoying staying with... Read more

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Quarters on King for a business trip in downtown Charleston. Happened to stumble across their website and found they had a great location right on King Street, which ended up being easily walkable to my business meetings. Even the Uber‚??s were affordable and quickly accessible. The apartment itself was the best part of the trip, beautifully decorated with granite counter-tops and a spacious living room. It included all the amenities advertised and ... Read more

Just returned from a wonderful getaway to Charleston, SC and staying at The Quarters on King was the icing on the cake! All the luxury of staying in a first-class boutique hotel combined with all of the comforts of home....away from home! The kitchen was outfitted the way that a professional chef would equip his home cooking space...will definitely eat in next visit. We traded the sofa for the comfy bed after 2 nights each and both spaces were conducive to a great rest. Loved the full bathroom u... Read more
