Historic Elegance
The structure, built in 1801, was fully renovated into luxury residential condominiums, and all accommodations have since been modified to meet the high standards of Charleston visitors. King and Society Hotel is ideal for sophisticated travelers that prefer the feel of a private townhome rather than a hotel or inn. King and Society Hotel is treasured for many reasons – location, comfort, privacy, and convenience – but, above all else, it is having a condo-style residence rather than a typical hotel room. Full-sized kitchens, large living and dining areas, and comfortable, spacious sleeping quarters and bathrooms set King and Society Hotel experience apart from hotels and inns.

Relaxing Accommodations
King and Society Hotel has beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows, and some units have exposed brick walls that all combine to create an atmosphere of being a visitor in the home of a sophisticated, urban-dwelling friend. Kitchens are equipped with high-end, stainless steel appliances and natural stone counter tops. Baths have premium fixtures and both ceramic and stone finishes, depending upon the unit. Comparable suites in Charleston luxury hotels and inns would typically cost much more. King and Society Hotel provides exceptional value without compromising quality.

Amazing Amenities

  • Full Kitchen w/Refrigerator And Microwave
  • Custom Leather Sofa Bed In Most Rooms
  • Spacious Living Room
  • Flat Panel Satellite Televisions
  • Private Bathrooms With Stone Vanity

A Little Charleston History
Historic Charleston occupies a peninsula that juts into Charleston harbor where, as provincial lore goes, the Ashley and Cooper Rivers meet to form the Atlantic Ocean. Charlestonians have good reasons to have such an inflated opinion of their city. Perennially ranked by surveys conducted by leading travel and lifestyle media as one of the top four US destinations. Charleston is a regional cultural center and has an enviable quality of life created by a blend of good climate, natural beauty, important architecture, and a sophisticated community around which a vibrant dining scene, shopping, and other lifestyle businesses have developed to serve both locals and visitors alike. King and Society Hotel is located quite literally in the very center of all of this. We loved the perfect location and the beautifully decorated apartment. The cleaning service was kind of poor and there could have been better loading/unloading options. Also the steep and narrow staircase with a twin stroller, two kids and all the luggage is a disadvantage.

My fiance and another couple were very pleased with the room on King St. We booked via AirBNB for 4 nights over New Years. The location was perfect - in the middle of King St (so there was plenty of dining and shopping), and while Charleston is not huge, we were still within a comfortable walking distance of everything we wanted to see. (comfortable walking distance being within a mile, max.) There were 3 coffee shops within 3 blocks, as well. (This is important if, like me, you need caffein... Read more

Room was very comfortable and spacious. Modern and clear. The building does not have an elevator though so it is a challenge to go up and down the stairs with your luggage, baby, stroller, etc. each day if you are on a higher floor.

We stayed in the 1 bedroom loft with a family of 4 and the space was great and was very clean. You can not get a better location as you're right on King Street in the middle of everything, with that being said our room faced King Street so we did hear the traffic and people but that was a small price to pay considering you are getting a very well maintained condo in the heart of downtown for less than what you would pay for your average hotel room. When we plan our next trip to Charleston this... Read more

Affordable and comfortable set up for those feeling constrained by hotel living. Modern condo features with an open layout which was great for our family. Right on the heart of King Street. Staff is very welcoming and helpful, including carrying the bags up the stairs (if you are a new yorker you know the fun of carrying bags up a four story walk up)

Just returned from a wonderful getaway to Charleston, SC and staying at The Quarters on King was the icing on the cake! All the luxury of staying in a first-class boutique hotel combined with all of the comforts of home....away from home! The kitchen was outfitted the way that a professional chef would equip his home cooking space...will definitely eat in next visit. We traded the sofa for the comfy bed after 2 nights each and both spaces were conducive to a great rest. Loved the full bathroom u... Read more

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Quarters on King for a business trip in downtown Charleston. Happened to stumble across their website and found they had a great location right on King Street, which ended up being easily walkable to my business meetings. Even the Uberā??s were affordable and quickly accessible. The apartment itself was the best part of the trip, beautifully decorated with granite counter-tops and a spacious living room. It included all the amenities advertised and ... Read more

Four girlfriends and I just returned from Charleston, staying at Quarters on King. We stayed in a suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a full kitchen and living area, all decorated with the latest styles in furniture and accessories. It's located right in the center of the tourist area so we parked our car in the lot they suggested and walked everywhere. We always felt safe, even at night . We plan on returning and staying at the quarters again- highly recommended if you enjoying staying with... Read more

Ahhhh!! I seriously can't say enough great things about The Quarters on King. We are from Chicago and chose to host a destination wedding in Charleston in September. During our initial planning phases, we stumbled upon this beautiful property and knew it would be the perfect place to accommodate our bridal party for an extended weekend trip versus a hotel. We rented all of the units exclusively to our guests to keep everyone close & organized during such an event-filled weekend and it was like w... Read more

We stayed in room 301 which was a good climb up two flights of stairs. However, it was worth it. It was modern and felt luxurious. Plenty of amenities--kuerig coffee maker, large TV with Netflix, large refrigerator. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The location is in the middle of a bunch of shops and an easy walk to historic areas and restaurants. We parked our car (parking provided) and never got it out for the three days we were here. We'd go out until mid-afternoon, come back to ... Read more
