We had a wonderful time at this Holiday Inn. From check in to check out, everyone we came into contact with was so helpful . Cheryl Wooten even gave us great suggestions for dinner and some site seeing. Everywhere she told us to go was perfect. The hotel itself and rooms were very clean. We had complementary breakfast each day. The hotel is in a perfect location to get all over Charleston. We will be coming back to stay for our next trip!

Very good! We stayed for 6 days while visiting family and enjoying Charleston. Excellent location. Excellent comfortable hotel. Wonderful staff! Would return here anytime! Everything was great here and I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

This Holiday Inn Express was truly one of the best hotels that I have stayed in while traveling. Near the airport , nearby restaurants, very clean and tastefully decorated. All requests made at the time of reservations were fulfilled. Provided shuttle service to the airport early in the morning. Breakfast was good not exceptional. No free breakfast. Good hotel staff .

We stayed there for two nights while visiting Charleston for our anniversary. The staff was friendly and helpful - even giving us suggestions on where to eat, etc. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, with excellent showers! The breakfast was very versatile to fit all needs. We would have stayed an extra night if room price had not jumped up so high in the middle of week. ?? Not sure why...but good experience, nonetheless. Would stay there again, and highly recommend it to others.

The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were very clean and quite roomy, breakfast was absolutely amazing with the pancake machine, and they allowed us to keep our car there while we cruised as part of the package! Prime location if you're cruising out of Port Charleston!

Great Hotel with friendly and helpful staff! We had a group of 25 seniors who stayed two nights and I didn't hear anything but favorable comments! The staff was friendly, pleasant and quick to provide anything that was needed!

Walking in the door, hubby and I were cheerfully greeting. Check-in was a breeze. I was able to pick up an excellent cup of decaf coffee from the lobby before heading to the room. There was no trouble getting an extra blanket and washcloths - what was in the room would be plenty for most guests but I tend to need more. I inspect hotel rooms as soon as we arrive; we have had to leave hotels in the past b/c of lack of cleanliness. Not this time! The bed, covered with all-white linens, was spotl... Read more

We always stay here when visiting family in West Ashley. We have never been disappointed. This was our fourth stay and once again, the room was very clean and the beds were super comfy ( although a little high to get into for my short legs! Ha!). The room was well appointed and as expected, we loved the hot breakfast buffet! Those warm cinnamon buns are always such a treat! Feels like home to us! Stay here!!

This was a nice property and reasonably priced for the area. The rooms are a bit small, but they were new and clean. Moreover, the staff was accommodating and friendly, but most importantly, the location was prime for touring the city.

We always love staying at Holiday Inn Expresses! We were on the 3rd floor and it was nice, quiet, very clean with a great AC. It was super humid there so coming to a nice cool room made it great! We (us and our girls 8&11) loved the pool and enjoyed it to ourselves and the towels that were provided down at it. The breakfast yummy with biscuits, gravy, eggs and sausage and the usuals.

I'm a Marriott girl but with the prices being so high in the historic district at this time I took a chance on this location and was absolutely NOT disappointed. The staff was very friendly, I had a issue of my date check in and the manager went above and beyond to accommodate me with a booking issue that was on my part. I would definitely stay there again a date would recommend

Unfortunately, we had room 328. 2 years ago In tripadvisor comments an US traveller has already described the same issue: a loud oscillating noise that makes walls vibrate. The reception desk has answered us that they will shut off the fan but it started up again during the night. I am travelling a lot for business and it is the first time I have such a noise just like in a plane.

Given the cost of downtown options, this is an excellent alternative. Easy to uber downtown. Solid room quality. Air conditioners a bit loud. Breakfast ok if not too choosy. Free parking and Internet. Easy route to Folly beach. Free trolley at the corner.

Hwy 17 location just south of the city makes this an excellent site for exploring Charleston, points south like Kiawah or Edisto, and sitting just at the juncture with 526, makes it a great jumping off point to bypass to points north such as Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms, etc. Excellently maintained, the rooms are clean, quiet and inviting. My daughter and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Charleston. It's what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express: clean, good location (not right in the city, but took about 10-15 minutes to get to the heart of the city...very easy drive), free breakfast, comfortable rooms with nothing fancy. We arrived at this hotel after having a terrible experience at the hotel we originally booked, we were greeted by Sherry at the front desk. Sherry was so pleasant, kind and helpful. The smoke smell described by other reviewers was definitely there: As soon as I walked into the lobby it was like a giant fist of stale cigarette smoke punched me in the face. Not only was it in the lobby, but it permeated the entire first floor and the same pungent odor of smoke greeted me every morning as I went to the first floor for breakfast. It is quite o... Booked a cruise out of Charleston South Carolina And needed a place to stay the nite before the cruise. Super nice super clean and the staff was wonderful and pretty easy on the wallet so I would recommend this to anybody staying in the Charleston area. Our group needed to book 3 rooms there and they made sure all the rooms were side-by-side. Definitely a nice group of people there that went above and beyond to take care of us.

This hotel is like all Holiday Inn Expresses, clean comfortable and reliable. The staff at this one is superb. The first floor did smell of tobacco even though the signs on all the rooms say no smoking. There is a grocery store across the street and a few restaurants in the area. The room was very clean and spacious. Our TV initially didn't work, but when I called the front desk, he came to our room immediately, and fixed it. Don't laugh... when you turn on the TV, the on/off button on the Comcast receiver that's just below the TV, may not be "on". If you don't get any reception, even though the TV is "on", push that button, and life will be good. :-)

Easy to find, good non-downtown location. Comfortable beds. Expectations for a Holiday Inn Express property were met. Travel to downtown can be slowed significantly by traffic if traveling at rush hour. Otherwise, only a 15 min drive.
