The Andrew Pinckney Inn was a very nice Inn located within walking distance of almost all of the old Charleston area. The check-in was extremely quick and the valet/bellman was great! Parking is at a premium in the Old Quarter so having valet parking available was great (and a bargain compared to the available public parking). The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was also very nice.

We loved this hotel. We stayed in a 2 level carriage room in the carriage house building next to the main hotel. . Our room has a rooftop deck and was lovely. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we were well taken care of. The free breakfast on the roof top of the main building was surprisingly well done and the views are wonderful. Stayed for two nights and enjoyed it but there's something missing and I'm not sure what it is. Let's consider the good: great location for rambling around town and the best restaurants, helpful staff ( especially Tiffany, who looks after luggage and your car), beds very comfortable and room 410 was very quiet. So what's my issue well the hotel is split both sides of the road ( not really a big issue), breakfast is mediocre, the rooms are large but not terribly homely, and the shower is in the b... Room was ok with exception of the bathroom. The bathroom for the tub and the toilet was so small, I bet it was less than 40 square feet. I have seen closets in hotels this big. I call the desk to find a bigger bathroom and was told they had none bigger. We then decided to stay the one night and find another hotel and when we changed the new hotel was so modern with plenty of room. It was a game changer.

A platter of oysters on the half shell and some tasty shrimp. Lunch at Rue De Jean on John street. Wonderful mussels here as well. Shopping on King Street. Love the rooftop at the Market Street Pavillion. Great place for a glass of wine at sunset. Hall's restaurant, always a winner for a great steak.

We booked the Pinckney Inn for a comfortable and cute place to stay in town. Although the location is quite lovely I just did not get the warm and fuzzy feeling when I arrived here. The setup is a bit of a hobble, spread over several buildings. The inn lacks a central focus and theme, it lacks a courtyard where service and attention can be directed. We were not very impressed with this inn. The continental breakfast was often out of yogurt. The doors in the room were quite dusty. One of the ceiling sprinklers dripped water for two days, and the inn's solution was to put a plastic fruit bucket on the end table for nor the drip to catch the water. The Andrew Pinckney Inn didn't do it for me. It is not bad at all - on the contrary our dual level room was fantastic - it just makes claim to a level of sophistication that it does not deliver. The Inn is charming and close to the market and several restaurants, but just far enough that you don't have to deal with the downtown traffic or noise at night. Our room was very charming with old wooden floors and a beached decor. I would recommend staying here!

The location is so inviting, the buggy ride is at one corner the Market place is at the other corner. The water is two blocks away. Historic churches are just up the street. Breakfast was very nice on the rooftop and the wine, cheese and fruit were a welcome break each evening. I don't think anyone would be disappointed here.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's charming, comfortable, clean, quiet and located within walking distance of everything. The city market is just a few blocks away. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese on the rooftop of this hotel. Just a great experience.

Got upgraded on arrival to a King Suite since it was our anniversary. Very clean, quiet and within walking distance to all of historic Charleston. Breakfast and happy hour wine, cheese and snacks are great from the 4th floor deck overlooking church street and the market. Very friendly and accommodating staff, will definitely return and recommend.

We spent three nights here as part of a group booking. The inn does not have dining facilities. That is no problem because there are so many interesting places to eat nearby. Breakfast is taken on a rooftop facility with great views. The staff could not have been more helpful. In particular Julie at the front desk gave me invaluable help with a troublesome airline check-in problem. The Inn has great links with taxis. The Inn is well-positioned both for the historic district and the old... Read more

Excellent location, in town, we can walk everywhere: restaurants, the market, areas of interest and historic sites. Great courteous and helpful staff, especially the valet guys. Breakfast was very nice and the rooftop terrace provided a good view of the surrounding area. The Saturday night rate was a bit expensive.

Great place to stay. The location was near lots of restaurants and market. Could walk everywhere. Breakfast and happy hour on outside deck and both were delicious. The staff definitely lived up to the reputation of southern hospitality. Would highly recommend.

Stayed one night at this historic hotel, wish we could have stayed longer. Staff at check in greeted us as friends, room was nicely furnished, beautiful view out arched doors overlooking the market area of Charleston. Terrific location, we walked to various attractions, would love to go back. Breakfast on the patio offered a great view, food was delicious, nice selection for a continental breakfast- and the coffee was also very good (important to me).

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend getaway to celebrate Father's Day and my husband's birthday. The location is great and it is right next to the Charleston outdoor market and the downtown area. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were courteous. Our room is as located across the "street" from where we checked in and had an elevator. Our room was gorgeous and spacious and clean! Breakfast came with the room and it was filling and delicious! Though the dining area in the terrace was cram... Read more

We were in SC for one evening only and booked this hotel through hot wire while driving from Savannah based on location in the city. We were greeted immediately by the valet and directed to front desk which is literally a desk with one employee assisting. That was refreshing since most places you are just shuffled in and out. The employees were more than friendly. We were in the building across the street from check in. Small but everything you need is in there. Great bed- great shower, powerful ... Read more

We visited the Andrew Pinckney Inn for the first time and loved the location! It's a great spot to choose when you want to easily explore loads of what Charleston has to offer. The room was charming and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel. Our room had one drawback, it was at street level and we found it to be fairly noisy. I would ask for a room on a higher floor for our next stay. The continental breakfast was amazing, the choice of pastries and fruit was a feast f... Read more

Really nice check-in folks. Valet parking is included. And there's a great breakfast Up on the Roof. Why did I give it four out of five stars? The bathroom is kind of small as is the vanity and there's no place to put your stuff. If you bring a laptop or a phone you're going to have a hard time charging it b... Read more

We stayed in one of the Townhouse suites about 1 week after Hurricane Matthew hit. The suites are in the yellow building, while it is my understanding the regular rooms are in the gray building just across the street (not a busy street). The suite was in good condition, especially considering the recent hurricane. The carpets were a bit wet from being recently cleaned, so we did have to keep the AC on to prevent moisture from building up, but I doubt this is an issue when not recovering from h... Read more

I organized a small meeting at the Andrew Pinckney Inn for five people, each from different states. I narrowed down the venue on trip advisor reviews and made the final decision based on phone and interactions with the folks at three different small inns/hotels in Charleston. I found the API was the most flexible and had excellent customer service. They arranged for a larger room to be turned into a meeting room (remove bed, put in conference table), brought in break food/drink, went out an fou... Read more

The Andrew Pinckney Inn is wonderful. Everyone strives to make your stay outstanding. All you have to do is ask at the front desk and the staff always has great ideas for your dinner or outings. We enjoyed the breakfast provided each morning. The afternoon wine and cheese was just the thing to kick off the evening. Also if wine and cheese is not your thing, you can always find a fresh baked cookie to nibble on. The rooms are comfortable and remind you of someone's fine home.

After a long flight from the UK, we checked in late on Monday 14th November for 4 nights. Somebody very kindly carried our heavy luggage up the stairs to our first floor room. The queen sized bed looked enormous (and turned out to be very comfortable). We didn‚??t pause, and went out to find somewhere to eat, and found a number within 300 yards.
