Furnishings were old and worn. Room smelt musty. Inn is in desperate need of a facelift. Definitely overpriced. I would not recommend this Inn. We were very disappointed. On a positive, the Inn Keeper and staff were nice.

Three night stay at the Beaufort Inn was another enjoyable experience. This was our second stay at this B&B and we were pleased again for the most part. Our queen size room was smaller than the room of the previous stay but was adequate for our needs. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast especially my personally ordered omellette. The new seating arrangement on the front porch was very nice but to be honest I missed the big comfy couch. My husband also missed the reading room on the 3rd flloor be... Read more

This is a lovely Inn in an excellent location. The beauty is only skin deep. The help were all very nice. The TV did n or work for our complete stay. T h is despite our speaking to the desk 3 different times. The overhead fan did Not work either. The room was lovely but it sounded like a herd of elephants were above. Would suggest a room with no one above you. Three stars is more than enough.

We took our two teenagers on a bicycle trip with Vermint Bicycle Tours. We started in Charleston and then spent a day in Beaufort. VBT arranged our accomodations at The Beaufort Inn. The Inn has several guest rooms and also smaller structures on the property-resembling little homes. Our family of 4 was out in one of these homes with two suites. The right combination of B&B and hotel. Great staff, lovely rooms and tons of porches to sit upon. This was our third time staying for one night and it was just perfect on our way to a beach week with family nearby. I stayed at this wonderful place for a friend's wedding being held in the area. The customer service was top-notch. However, the best part of the stay, besides the friend's wedding of course, was the awesome complementary breakfast. One of the best parts of the breakfast were the grits. I told the chef that they were "magic grits." Anyways, it was a wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend it to everyone!

This was the only room available that night because of the storm aftermath. It was expensive but if I get down that way again for pleasure I will definitely stay with you. I was definitely not dressed like the other guests because I was doing relief work but the gentleman who checked me in was VERY helpful and non judgemental unlike the guest who needed towels and felt like he was more important and shouldn't have to wait until I was done.

prior to coming, we called on Monday only to receive a busy signal each time. We realize you had no power and called again on Tuesday. The lady said "no problem, come on down" (we were in Charleston SC for 3 nights), and I said "for sure?". Oh yes was the response. Well we arrived and found 1) room not ready (no problem as we arrived around 12:30 pm and could not expect the room to be ready. We asked would someone be able to handle our luggage (we are in our mid 80s) and we were assured the... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for our niece's wedding. The property was very comfortable and the staff was courteous and hospitable. They helped us with the local sites, things to do and eateries. We had a lovely, sumptuous breakfast each day at the Inn. We spend two delightful mornings reading, relaxing and napping on the second floor porch. The location was perfect for walking about Beaufort. Parking was convenient. The ambiance contributed nicely to a pleasant wedding weekend.

Our wedding guests occupied most of the Inn Friday and Saturday nights, and the layout of the Inn was conducive to small get-togethers in the courtyard, porches and lobby. The Victorian architecture and furnishings, picket fences, and live oaks draped in Spanish moss made for a charming stay. The staff called us by name and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Although the wedding was on other property owned by the Inn, I think any guest would receive the same type of ... Read more

My recent planned vacation to visit Savannah, Beaufort and Charleston was affected by Hurricane Matthew. I have been wanting to visit these cities for a long time and therefore held out until the very end to cancel my plans. Unfortunately, both my Savannah and Charleston hotels called me to inform me that they had mandatory evacuation and had to cancer my reservations. I called the Beaufort Inn numerous times in an attempt to cancel but their phone lines seemed to not be working, all I got was a... Read more

Booked what we thought and were confirmed a suite room with 2 separate sleeping areas for us as a family, received room in another building not even owned by the Beaufort Inn.... The hotel claimed to have put workers in our room instead! Looked like a bad copy of Holiday Inn room. Complete lack of service and we were charged an outrageous amount for a room we never booked! The breakfast ran out of food before the end of service and no one cared. Photos online are deceptive and most likely taken... Read more

We recently spent 2 nights in room #17, which is not in the main part of the inn, but a separate building. When you look at the pictures there is a white cottage directly to the right of the inn. That building has 2 "units" and #17 is the one on the right. You do share a porch with the other side, but each room has their own separate patio furniture consisting of 1 small round table and 2 chairs. We were escorted to the room at check-in and given a brief overview along with room entry cards an... Read more

The Beaufort Inn was historical, elegant, and the epitome of Southern Gentility. We stayed in the right side of the Rhett House. The front porch had great rocking chairs! The front patio was a terrific place to sit with friends. My ONE COMPLAINT was that I couldn't get a DIET COKE there. My husband asked for a Diet Coke for me for breakfast. One of the servers agreed to get him one. The server was RIDICULED in front of everyone. This really upset my husband. Other than this event the Beaufort I... Read more

Our stay at the Beaufort Inn was purely by accident but what a fortunate accident it was! Our son was graduating from Parris Island and we had made reservations at another hotel across town. Unfortunately, hurricane Matthew tore through causing major damages to the hotel who then had to close for repairs 2 days before we were to arrive. Due to displaced families, and the people in town for the graduation there were no rooms available anywhere. My husband called the Beaufort Inn as one last ditch... Read more

My husband and I were traveling to Beaufort to help clean out his father's house. We weren't sure we'd need to stay the night, but decided to use Hotel Tonight to stay at The Beaufort Inn where we had stayed before. When we arrived, Stephanie, the front desk clerk, seemed very nice until she learned that we had arranged for a room that wasn't there. She told us they had a four bedroom condo, but couldn't possibly give us that room because it rented for so much more a night, but given the circums... Read more

I have nothing but raves for the Beaufort Inn. I booked on this site, and within an hour someone from the hotel called my cell to resolve an unclear request I made. Later that day, my wife called to add a request for a later check-out time, and it was gladly extended. On the date of our arrival we sat at the check-in desk, offered a beverage and were "introduced" to the hotel; breakfast times, parking, local dining... Our rooms were clean, comfortable, well appointed and quiet. The complime... Read more

We stayed in Cottage 18, which was quaint, comfortable and clean. There was quite a bit of noise coming from the bar outside our cottage. We heard what seemed to be college kids drinking and hollering well into the night. The bathroom in the cottage was clean. It would have been better if there were more counter space near the sink, as there was a pedestal sink with no counter. There was a small table/shelf nearby, but it couldn't hold much. The main B&B building was charming and old. We enjoyed... Read more

Friendly and helpful staff. We celebrated our anniversary here this week and found anniversary wishes and a bottle of wine in our room. The Inn is well located for walking the waterfront and browsing the shops on Bay St. along with the historical venues. Definitely would stay here again.

We got a house with 2 rooms on the property to share with our friends. We enjoyed the living room layout & kitchen however both bathrooms were extremely small. Their staff, including housekeeping, was nice. Breakfast was crowded with a buffet that seemed to sometimes "run out" of options if you got there too late and they seemed to be short staffed. Perhaps because we visited at holiday time. I wouldn't let that deter your visit. The location is walking distance from everything, including some n... Read more
