I spent a night in Providence, RI this past weekend and stayed at the Hotel Providence. The lobby is pretty and the room was satisfactory (except for the running toilet that kept me awake for the entire night). The service, however, was unsatisfactory. Our room was spacious and had a small "living room" with a TV and coffee tables. There was a door to separate the living room from the beds and bathroom, which I liked. The bathroom was very spacious, except for the running toilet. It was a s... Read more

The hotel is nicely situated in Down City by Westminster Street. It has an opulent traditional feeling. The staff is very responsive and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The linens were delightful. The beds very comfortable but my biggest beef with this hotel is that they recently soundproofed the windows -- customers were apparently complaining about the church bell across the street -- and in the process made the windows un-openable! The bathroom has no windows either, just a vent so... Read more

City: small, college, sophisticated Hotel: refurbished luxury of a small city venue Grade inflation factor: zero Three nights, premier room. Fourth time here at the hotel, i loved the premier room layout, lovely view of grace episcopal, hate hate hate the new soundproofing and that windows don't open : if you get upset by church bells, get away from me. The weirdish thing is that you key card a general outer door and then see your room and neighbors, one to right one to left. It'd be great... Read more

The Hotel Providence was absolutely horrendous. It was disgusting! It is a non-smoking hotel, but there were two cigarette butts in our room. We told them and they said housekeeping would be up soon and that they were sorry. But, the cigarette butts weren't cleaned up until 4 hours later. They have the prestigious 4 diamond award, but I don't think they deserved it. The front desk staff were okay, but the hotel seemed like a deserted island, and it was pretty sketchy. Hotel Providence is centrally located in the Arts District and close to many restaurants and interesting shops. The hotel's rooms and bathrooms are a little larger than an average room and well equipped. There is only valet parking at $28/day however there are parking lots nearby that may be a few dollars cheaper. There is a nice small park next to hotel that serves as outside dining for the hotel. The windows are triple glazed and since the street is quiet there is no noise. However, you c... Read more

I travel quite a bit to the Providence area for business and have stayed in several of the surrounding hotels. All of them are great and I could suggest them all but I would enthusiastically recommend Hotel Providence. Very spacious rooms, comfortable beds, surgically clean bathrooms and an incredible staff. Food was excellent. Chef and staff all worked together to make our meeting and food samples excellent. Love the team work. Room was beautiful. Bed comfortable. Steven at the bar was so kind and hardworking to make sure all the bar guest were comfortable. The gentleman responsible for out event seemed to never sleep. Was dedicated and always available. Could use some background music at the bar though. Outside patio with the gorgeous weather was an oasis. Thank you for a wonderful business trip.

I attended a conference at the Hotel Providence in June 2016. Unfortunately, the first night I was at the hotel was Pride night. The music on the streets of Providence was so loud and it went on until 2:00am! I really didn't get any sleep. It is unfortunate that the windows couldn't block out more of the sound. I had recently visited for a seminar held at the hotel and was blown away by the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, the charm and heartfelt friendliness of the staff and the in house restaurant. This is a great hotel if you're staying in central Providence. The rooms are clean, the staff is attentive, and the location is central. Frankly, this place is a dump. We checked in and asked for a restaurant recommendation which the concierge refused to supply, saying only "go any direction and you'll see restaurants." We stayed one night to see a show. Our room was spacious and luxurious. Very clean. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. While we did not eat at the restaurant, I was tempted when we walked past the gorgeous courtyard and heard the live music. Lovely experience

We stay at this hotel this weekend, what a mistake. I wish I would have read all the bad reviews before booking. As you can see management responds to them, but nothing has changed. The hotel is stationed near some type of building that draws tons of homeless people around the entry. They'll follow you asking for money when you leave for day. The walls are thin. They heard we were going to switch to another hotel because of the crib situation and they lied to us saying they would bring me two cribs, but they never... Read more

The location of this hotel is a bit sketchy but the hotel itself is quite nice. My room on the top floor had a bedroom and a separate living room area. The bed had a nice selection of different pillows of different firmness and thickness, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I would not return to this hotel because the bathroom was cold and windy due to the fan not being in the control of the guest. The fan was on 100% of the time, regardless of whether anyone was in the room, the lights were... Read more
