Our newly renovated room on the Harbor Side was comfortable. The total renovation of this older hotel was still very much in progress, with the lobby and restaurant closed. The building is noisy during the day with construction activities. This remains a great location for access to Providence and the expressway network. On 01 May 2016 this property is scheduled to become the Hilton Garden, leaving the Wyndham network of hotels.

This hotel is under renovation of course that explains the $100 different from the overpriced Marriots They don't tell you at the time of booking that you will be woken up at 7 am on a Saturday morning by jack hammers or that the workers will be speaking loudly in Spanish in the early morning The room is renovated. The building was under construction. So the appearance was not pretty at all. But they provided free shuttle service to downtown Providence. This is my 5th time staying here and the location is great. Near I-95, walkable to the harbor and free parking! Would come back again!

Under construction but they are trying to make the best of it for their guests. We had to disembark from the cruise ship at 8am and walked to the Wyndham expecting to have them hold our luggage. Fortunately a room was available and allowed us to check in without an extra fee.

Construction was annoying and made the place look dirty and unkempt. "Breakfast" was a joke. Cheapo breakfast bars and no coffee lids. The shuttle service to the convention center was a well-kept secret that I did not discover until day 4. Housekeeping just didn't happen one day. Ridiculously loud AC unit.

the hotel is presently undergoing renovations in the public areas. so that will end soon. BUT the hallways and rooms have been finished. they are nicely done except that the doors on all of the rooms close with a very loud thump. Voices in the hallway sound as if they are in your room. These are 2 separate problems and are really annoying if you want some sense of privacy and quiet. Not sure if this condition can be corrected. if it can, do it now.

The food news is that the rooms are redone and not to bad. But EVERYTHING ELSE was awful. The renovation is so extensive that it compromised all other aspects - no lobby, no food, only one unreliable elevator, etc etc. Yes, it was reunion/commencement weekend so they charged well in excess of $200 night, but this hotel should have NEVER been open for Memorial Day weekend. If I had known of the renovation when I made this reservation in July 2015 I would have gone elsewhere.

The hotel was undergoing extensive renovations making for some minor inconveniences. The room was clean & spacious, with a lovely view of the Providence River. The check-in staff were very helpful & handled the disruptions of the renovations with grace. My only complaint is that the kingsize bed was too soft.

We recently stayed at the Wyndam Garden Hotel in Providence. The website said they would be doing some minor construction, that doesn't describe what it was like there at all. The hotel didn't have a lobby. There was only one service elevator which was always full. The parking lot was really small and always full. Cranes and work crews everywhere. This was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in, nothing you would expect from Wyndam hotels. The rooms had been renovated but they were small, lots o... Read more

The website did give a little warning about the construction, but they made it sound like it would have minor impact, and that it would mostly be completed by the time I arrived, June 3rd. This, however, was NOT THE CASE at all. There was no main entrance, one elevator, no food, fitness center, places to lounge, etc. Basically I paid a pretty high rate for a place to sleep. I will have to say the rooms were adequate, nicely kept. But this was the only plus to staying there. Sorry Wyndham, hopef... Read more

The "city view room" is a view and less than 100 feet from the freeway and reconstruction container. We were not told about the "reconstruction" when we booked this hotel, which had been recommended by American Cruise Line. The included breakfast was a granola bar and coffee in a paper cup. The night clerk was rude when we arrived at 2:00 a.m. The value vs. over priced room charge was very, very poor. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was so nice to ditch the car! I walked to Benefit Street, visited museums, historic sites and RISD on the east side. I walked to see Waterfire and had the hotel shuttle pick me up so I didn't have to walk back in the dark. Nearby Wickenden Street has cafes and a great sushi restaurant. Front desk staff were courteous and helpful and rooms clean and so comfortable. Although we were sort of surprised when we arrived about the conditions of the facility, we were pleasantly received by a very accommodating staff. The staff has to work under difficult circumstances, as this is the case with any remodeling. The parking lot was dusty, but the drivers of the shuttle to town and elsewhere were very accommodating and friendly. When the Wyndham is redone for Hilton, we expect it to be fantastic. This brand always seems to deliver and the staff are going the extra mile right now with their recent opening. Despite a few finishing touches to their newly remodeled and rebranding to a Hilton Garden Inn, the service and quality was still there. I will make this my first choice next time I am I providence.

We were here as part of a wedding block with our 3 year old. There was supposed to be a gift bag for us but the staff couldn't find it. They asked if we got it on the way in and the way out. No and no. Our room location on a low floor (3) was facing a highway - very noisy. I couldn't sleep at all due to highway noise. We had to use the AC as a noise machine to muffle the highway, but that was a problem as the AC cycled on and off and the room got too cold. We actually cancelled our breakfas... Read more

They're remodeling and rebranding which is fine. But if you get a room on the side with the interstate don't expect to get a tremendous amount of sleep. The shades do not shut completely because of the air-conditioner unit so you will have ambient light all night long as well as interstate noise all night long bring your plugs and some sort of device to cover your eyes.

This hotel was recently acquired and refurbished by Hilton, and they took a great location, and made it a true destination. Just 4 miles east Downtown Providence (Gano Street exit 2 off 195) it is still very convenient to all the hospitals, colleges and other attractions, and well worth the short trip to leave the city's bustle. You can see it from the road as it is perched on India Point overlooking the river and park. The lobby is a large bright open space, with a bar at one end, restaurant at... Read more
