Rate is competitive but the overall condition and quality of the hotel is poor. Needs renovations. Breakfast is fine, surroundings smell of manure which is not the hotel's fault but they do absolutely nothing to counter or at least mask it. Overall a rough place to stay, not worth the price, very disappointing for a Hilton hotel... though seems to be what you can expect from most Hampton Inns today

Love Hampton Inn hotels and this one is right up there with the best of them. No problems with the room, complimentary breakfast is always good and the staff are consistently good. Would nut have a problem starting at this hotel again.

Fantastic experience, staff great, hotel conveniently located; good mattress, room clean and inviting, breakfast was good and well prepared. Our stay was one of convenience, to make our overall trip more relaxing and we were not disappointed. We have always had good experiences at Hampton Inn's regardless of what town we were in.

Checked in to room 220 over Memorial Day weekend 2016. I was surprised that there was no refrigerator in the room. Every Hampton Inn I've stayed in has one. Also there are no evening cookies. Not a deal breaker, but just sad about it. There were 3 adults in one room. After our first night, one bed was made up, but the second, which had had the covers pulled up, was not made. The damp tub mat was removed and not replaced, necessitating a hand towel on the floor. After our second night, both beds... Read more

Staff is very sweet- they offer bottled water which sounds like a silly thing but to me means they aren't trying to overcharge you by giving you $3 bottles in your room. It's the little things that make a nice stay!

We stayed here on a Saturday night. They don't have s downtown shuttle and it's a bit of a haul to walk. They didn't bake cookies on the weekend. The premium wifi has a cost even for Hilton Rewards members. The breakfast was decent. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Not a bad hotel but they need to work on the "little" things that make a difference.

Nice hotel. Great location. The only down fall was that they do not have refrigerators in the rooms. Other than that one minor miss, everything else was great! Side note, try the Happy Valley Brewery for dinner. Best steaks and burgers my family ever had.

This hotel was clean and the lobby area was renovated so it had a sleek modern look. The rooms, however, need to be updated as the furniture was scratched and dented. The room, bedding and bathroom were clean though and that was what I really wanted. The bed was very comfortable, however, the duvet was too much and became hot during the middle of the night. I blanket option instead of the duvet would have been nice. Overall, a great stay.

I've been diamond elite with Hilton for years. Quite possibly the worst hotel we have visited as a family. Dirty, and beyond "long in the tooth". Filthy bathroom and ripped linens. OMG. Checked out after one night and moved to Nittany Lion Inn on campus. Certainly not your typical Hilton property

The hotel is ok. The rooms are small but clean and the staff is friendly. The pillows appear to be nice and fluffy but sink down very thin. Nothing spectacular but its a clean place to lay your head. No microwave or refrigerator so you will need to plan to eat out. The pool area was nice and the pool was clean with fresh towels.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. If you need a place to stay for a night this place will work. Location was very convenient to state college. The beds were only doubles and there were no mini refrigerators or microwaves in the room. A little pricey in my opinion for what you got.

I stayed here with my daughters on the last night of a college tour. It was adequately priced, driving distance down the road from campus. The room was fine, but could have been a little cleaner. The lower shelf in the bathroom was so dusty I couldn't believe it. We were literally here for 15 hours, which honestly was enough. The whole time we were there we kept saying to each other we couldn't have picked a better hotel! We took my daughter to a sports camp on campus. It's clean & very close to Penn State's campus. Two minutes, a stop light & a right turn & you are there! The staff is super helpful & friendly (Alexa & Tedra are awesome!)! Free breakfast & Wi Fi in the room. Did I mention it takes less than 2 minutes to get on campus? We will definitely be back next year!

The staff at the State College, Pennsylvania Hampton Inn is friendly, responsive and accommodating. Let them know of any problem and they will fix it. The hotel is clean and I would stay there again. Note: if you don't need the connecting door between two rooms, request a room with no connecting door as the door conducted a lot of sound from the next room. Close to campus but not easily walkable along the highway.

Today's hotels need to have refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. Travelers have things they need to refrigerate even if it's just bottled water. It baffles me that a hotel wouldn't want to supply that to their guests. If I had asked if they had them in their rooms before I paid for the room we would have found a different hotel.

The room rate is ridiculous, but it's a big college, and tourist town, so they have no problems getting it. I expected more luxurious surroundings, being a Hampton Inn, but everything was clean, maintained, and comfortable. The staff was utterly amazing, and made the price almost worth it. The complimentary breakfast among the best I've had! Very pleased at the quality, as well as variety of choices. I'd stay again, just for that.

We had a great stay in State College, PA at the Hampton Inn. The room was very clean, the outdoor pool was also clean and was a comfortable temperature to cool off on the 90+ degree day. The hotel is in walking distance from the Penn State Spike stadium and the Penn State University football stadium. The fellow at the desk, Aaron, spent the time to give us directions to find the sites around town. Again, it was a great stay and we would visit this hotel again.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Good location. Nice coffee bar and breakfast/lounge area. We were in town during a busy weekend so selection was slim therefore we got a room with two full mattresses/beds. Sleeping with your spouse in a full mattress/bed is not pleasant and needless to say, we didn't sleep well. Not sure why hotels even have full mattresses/beds. The hotel needs to upgrade to queen mattresses/beds...that's my only complaint.

Was in town for one day (June 13-14) for a conference at the Penn Stater (also a hotel), I missed the discount period to stay at the stater (would have been $129 for a single room) but all they had left was rooms for $149 or something. The Hampton Inn was 7 mins away and I paid $89 dollars (with AAA discount) and with taxes it came to like $98 (you know all those room taxes). Good location. Friendly staff that is a little overwhelmed at times but they try hard to please. Parking is good. The hotel could have been cleaner; there was dirt around and on window, chair, and elevators. Desk chair did not go up and down, and was not usable.
