The room and the view were absolutely gorgeous. Our view was the river. We truly enjoyed our stayed. We have never stayed in Pittsburgh, so this was a perfect introduction. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The food was great. We will definitely stay here again if we have an opportunity to return.

The most recent renovation of the building in the Pittsburgh Cultural District. Dating from 1904, the unique pillar and open atrium architecture lends itself to the name of the current Hotel. The interior has the details and charms of the bygone eras, while the rooms are updated, well appointed and have a Pittsburghese flair. Our King room had usable space of close to 500 sq ft. Although called a city view room, we did have a good view of the Allegheny river and 2 of the triplet bridges (6th... Read more

The Renaissance Pittsburgh is a frequent destination. Since their upgrade, they've struggled to keep in together. On this visit, I asked to change from my initial room, which was next to the elevators, which are far from quiet. The second room to which I was assigned was missing a lamp next to the bed, and most of their rooms have these - and the tub upon entry into the room, was filled with water. The third room, instead of a regular lamp next to the bed, had two nearly burned out LED desk ... Read more

We try to stay here whenever we are in town. The staff is great and I love the whiskey bar in the lobby. My wife loves the concierge level amenities. Short walk to the river and plenty of great restaurants. Parking across the street is convenient but when they switch from weekends to weekdays they double charge you. Skip the hotel restaurant as there are lots of great option close by.

The hotel itself is beautiful! Great location with a gorgeous atrium and amazing views of the city. The parking is a nightmare. If you valet on the day of a Steeler game it's an extra $20, so $56 total. We chose to park in the garage across the street. It was $20, but had very tight spots for our truck and it was VERY difficult to navigate with luggage. The Starbucks inside had very rude workers. The lady at the front desk was very sweet. Rooms were big and had a mini fridge. They were helpful i... Read more

Great first impression. Beautiful lobby! Front desk made sure to put us in a room with a great view and in the same floor as our friends. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. It was awkward that there was only one chair to sit in while visiting with friends in room. I must say that EVERY time we walked in and out of the hotel the door man held the door for us. Location was perfect for the Steelers game and market square. Easy walking to lots of restaurants and bars Great weekend... Read more

I stayed at the Renaissance Pittsburgh for three nights on a business trip. This is a good downtown hotel option, with a bit more character than a typical chain hotel. The lobby in particular has a nice, old school vibe. WHY YOU'D LIKE THE RENAISSANCE PITTSBURGH 1. Comfortable rooms. Other reviews have cited the river view rooms. Even though I am a Marriott Gold member I was happy to get an interior facing room under the arch. It was dark and quiet, and my primary requirement for a hotel is to ... Read more

Just checked in, hopefully the stay gets better. -Only 1 person was at the desk at 4pm to check people in. Would assume the hotel is pretty empty, yet no one offered to help with my bags, or acknowledge me while I waited. -Wasn't recognized for my status. Was upgraded to a "city view", but it's really a view of another building's rooftop. Definitely doesn't feel like an upgrade -Wasn't told about any benefits I get at the hotel or even anything about the hotel. I had to ask about club access and... Read more

Location is great for downtown activities, and the lobby is very elegant. The food at both breakfast and lunch was excellent. However, the most of the staff seemed to only be doing the minimum required to get the job done. Upon arrival, the doorman was engaged in conversation with someone and barely acknowledged us until we started struggling with our bags. My husband said he did not need help with the bags, so he just walked away. Could have lifted them to the curb or offered to get a luggag... Read more

With many hotels to choose from in the Pittsburgh area, I'm so very grateful I chose the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel while visiting my daughter. From check in to departure, I was met with friendly and inviting staff, from the valet to receptionist to bartender to waiter. Exquisite decor in the lobby, accenting the beautiful marble walls and grand staircase for the holiday season. My room was upgraded as a Platinum member, and I couldn't have been more thrilled; roomy, comfortable, and very clea... Read more
