Booked this the day before on Priceline.com. The advertised rate was $189 but I did my own price and they accepted $115! The hotel is one the water directly across bridge from PNC Park. I'd imagine its location makes it very popular during the baseball season. I was here one night to see the Pens playoff game against Capitals. After the game I was able to walk the .5 miles from arena to hotel. Felt safe walking in town at 11:30pm. There is a pizza place next door so convenient before heading up ... Read more

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern with large windows. There is a lot across the street which offers parking for $13 a day. There is a city bike share location within a couple blocks of the hotel for easy transportation and a great way to explore the city. Take the dedicated bike lane down Penn Ave for a safe ride. I wish the hotel would consider complimentary coffee in the morning in the lobby. The coffee pod machine in the room was a little musty smelling. Not... Read more

We had a fantastic time at the Renaissance! We were a group of 5 women celebrating a 30th birthday. The service and attention to detail were perfect. We were upgraded to the 14th floor and there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us upon arrival. This is our go to hotel for weekend retreats to the city. Maurice at the front desk was wonderful! We had a bad room at the other Marriott in town, so we switched to the Renaissance. What a cool hotel it was! 12 foot rooms, updated and very clean and contemporary with 12 foot ceilings. This is definitely the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We had a corner room with sweeping river views. The room got pretty warm during the day because it was so sunny outside so I recommend closing the drapes during the hot time because it took a while to cool off but the room was so nice and comfor... We stayed at the Renaissance for a wedding that was held there. Although in the Marriott family, the hotel is a classic hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. Because of it's location and classic hotel look, it appeals to brides and wedding parties. On Friday, the hotel hosted a prom. It is very busy. We had no trouble getting into our rooms and the hotel accommodated our request to have rooms side by side with our son. So thankful I picked this hotel while visiting Pittsburgh last weekend. You feel like you're somewhere special as soon as you walk inside the grand entry and see the cathedral ceiling and staircase. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and somewhere you want to spend time. Service is also terrific, everyone is very friendly. And the view of the river is priceless! The location is also where you want to be when spending time in the city. All major sites are within close walking distance.

The hotel was really lovely from the outside and the lobby was stunning. The room was alright, but always seemed really humid, even with the a/c running practically all the time. The Renaissance is a dazzler. Marriott has converted a onetime theater-office combo and retained the grandeur of the theater in its entryway while providing rooms with all the comforts we've come to expect from this level of the company's lineup. I spend a lot of time in Pittsburgh on both business and pleasure (Go Pitt, Pens and Steelers!), but this was my first stay at the Renaissance. It was a very good experience overall with no downside. We were doing a small group business meeting and the room, AV, and water/coffee/soda service were all executed as expected. The hotel itself is a real pleasure, from the vaulted stone lobby to oversized guest rooms. Staff at all levels were very friendly and accommodating and the bar and restaurants... Read more

The hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants, shops, and sports venues. The building is old with a lot of charming features, but has some downsides like very small bathrooms. We had a room on the Club Level where there is a lounge providing a continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres. Hotel employees were warm and helpful.

I stayed at the Renaissance with my friend for a one night stay in Pittsburgh to attend the Coldplay concert. It was an absolutely amazing time. Loved the hotel - huge room, amazing views of the river, sports stadiums and downtown. We had drinks at the bar after the show and then Starbucks in the morning before we left. Beautiful room, beautiful hotel and nice staff. Can't wait to come back!

We were in town for a Pirates game and decided to stay close to the ballpark. The Renaissance Hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I had wanted to stay at this hotel ever since the first time I saw it. The convenience to PNC was nice, but it was by far just an average hotel at best. I utilized the early check in on the app and my room was still not ready. There was no handle on the bathroom door, which was a sliding door and made it extremely hard to close all the way. The tub did not drain correctly while the shower was running. If you want to pay for the convenience of walking to the ballpark, the experience was nice... Read more

This hotel was perfect from the start. The friendly girl behind the counter warmly welcomed us. She even stepped away from the counter to point out and explain in great detail the other areas and amenities of the hotel. Our 9th floor room was spacious with a great side view of the river. We loved the cool décor. The outside door was a bit beat up, but the furnishings inside of the room appeared to be newer and the room was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to take care of any needs we had. The room was nice and clean and we had a great view. We got a great room 909 with a great view of the river and PNC Park. We booked concierge lounge access mainly for breakfast use. It was the worst lounge we've ever used. Not a lot of choice and poor quality from what I could see. Flies all over the food and uninterested staff. Very cramped lounge too. The area around the outside is a little shabby. We opted not to get our room serviced and scored 500 points a night for that.
