Great 1st day on our 10 day trip. Decided on the hotel because of the location. Wife is a big Steelers fan and we needed to stop after our 8 hour drive to get here. The hotel overlooks the Pirates ballpark, but what made it excellent here was when the sun went down and the lights came up, the view of the area glowed and looked stunning. The room was clean, had a fridge, and a decent breakfast in the morning. We never considered visiting Pittsburgh before, but after this we may return here soo... Read more

Nice new facility with an exceptionally friendly staff. Comfortable bedding and clean. We choose this hotel for it's close proximity to the PNC park. The neighborhood was great with lots of food and drinking choices. I was however disappointed to be charged $21 per day ($126 total for 2 rooms) for Parking Fees. I DIDN'T HAVE A CAR!

My family and I stayed here for a baseball game and the location to the ballpark is very convenient. We were in Room 909 that had a nice view of the city. Parking was right next door for a fee. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable but the most important thing for me was the friendliness of the hotel staff and exceptional service. They made you feel very welcome. We will definitely stay there again.

If you want to see a Pirates ballgame and you want to stay overnight in Pittsburgh, this is THE place to stay. The ball park entrance is about 200 yards away from the hotel's front door. You can literally walk out the hotel front door and be through the ball park gate in two minutes, at most. Parking is great and adjacent to the hotel. Rooms are modern, spacious and VERY clean. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is quite doable and tasty. In the future, if we want to see a ... Read more

We weren't there for a ball game but this is certainly a great location if you are going to a game. Great experience at check-in, Natalia promised us a great view from the best room in the house and she delivered. We had a great view of downtown. Room was clean, quiet and roomy. Breakfast area was bright and inviting. A+ stay. Will return.

We stayed here before a Pirates game, just a 100 yards or so and your inside the park. Do not stay on the side by the highway as we did, it was quite loud. The room wasn't very clean, there was plastic on the floor and crumbs also. The breakfast was included and it was typical fare, but decent overall. It cost too much for what you are getting, but the proximity to the ballpark is what you are paying for.

booked this hotel online, based on the description of being "close to PNC". We have learned that our idea of close and the online idea is not always the same, but that was not the case with this hotel. In fact this hotel spoiled us for future ballpark trips. My son was thrilled that we could actually see the stadium lights at night from our room window. Shuttle service was free and friendly. This hotel is in a great location! So close to PNC Park! That is why we chose it. We were there for the Billy Joel concert. There are a lot of places within walking distance to eat or drink too. They also offer a shuttle service to take you to places like the casino, near by restaurants, museums etc.. The hotel itself is nice. Your average hotel. Rooms were clean. There is no restaurant or bar. They do offer a free continental breakfast. You pay for the location. Which is great whether you are... Read more

Pool for the younger kids was great and breakfast had something for everyone. Used shuttle, but was very disappointed with the service and the driver (negative and very overwhelmed with what he needed to do). Not enough staff to keep breakfast bar stocked with a full hotel. We came in for a Bucs game. Have stayed in this area of town before. Got a corner 'suite'. Room was nice, very clean. Staff was great, got us checked in on time to head to afternoon game for BP, helpful in getting car parked on game day. Only real complaint was hallway/street noise. Seemed extra loud, especially after streets were reopened after game was over. Breakfast was very busy, but stocked well on a Sunday morning. Would stay there again, but ask for room on higher floor.

All in all, you're going to like the Holiday Inn Express. If you're a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, you just have to roll out of bed into the stadium. It's less than a one-minute walk from the hotel front door. For many, that will give it a 5-star rating. As a Brewers fan, it's not the big draw it should be, I suppose!
