We ended up staying here because all the downtown hotels were booked months in advance. The Greentree Hampton was almost too good to be true. To start, they have an hourly free shuttle mini-bus that goes to all the major tourist destinations once an hour, and will pick you up there when you want to come back. No parking fees, no public transportation, no driving in traffic. Front desk personnel - great. Room and maids - great. Free hot breakfast - great. "Dis is da place!"

we spent 5 days at the hampton in greentree. the hotel was very nice! the breakfast was excellent! we spent all of this time, as we were staying with our nephew, who was in pittsburgh childrens hospital. the hotel was a little ways away, but not too far. the commute was not bad at all. i like that it was out of the city, in a small community. restaurants were close by and easy to get to. would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

We went down from northern Pa. for a baseball game at PNC Park. The Hampton Inn was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle that was available to take us to the park was a godsend. I just wish they could have dropped us closer to the park, as I have bad knees.

I stayed one night for business. This is a very generic and cookie-cutter Hampton Inn, which is not a bad thing. Staff were all friendly and experienced no issues. The room was typical Hampton Inn right down to the furnishings. No issues experienced.

Not toooooo bad. Staff was nice and friendly. Room was clean. Needed to ask for bedding for pullout couch, no bedding in room and reservation was made for 4 ppl. Old AC took a while to cool down the room. It works for a night, not a place I would stay for more than that.

Our room has a funny smell. The sign on the front says "no smoking within 10 feet of door" which means the smoke from the folks constantly smoking on the bench fills the lobby. Think breakfast in the smoking section. They are pet friendly, which is great if you are traveling with your little buddy, but doesn't help the smell. Otherwise, it was a normal Hampton Inn. Fridge and microwave. Beds were nice.

Front desk staff very friendly and very thorough. Rooms very clean but it could stand to have better closets and they have done away with a proper dresser with drawers which I found very odd especially staying several days and not being able to properly unpack. They had smaller dressers more the size of nightstands with a couple of drawers. We love Hampton Inn and we are very comfortable there. The complimentary breakfast was delicious everyday!!

We stayed at this hotel 1 night to attend a Pirates game. I chose it due to price and the proximity to PNC Park. The staff was great. (Tip: Ask Jake at the front desk for information on where to park to see the game if the hotel shuttle is full.) The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good. My daughter and I were in town for a couple of college visits and took in a Pirates game while we were there, too. The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because of the ridiculous traffic getting back here from the city at 4:00 - but it was much cheaper than staying right in Oakland and I knew the traffic would be bad (but wasn't expecting it to take an hour to go less than 7 miles!) and each morning we were there, the front desk staff was great about looking at my directions to assure ... First off the hotel is very nice and very clean. The breakfast is great as well. I am disappointed however with the shuttle service. I called multiple times before we came to make certain there shuttle service was described the same. So we showed up signed up and was given a paper on where they drop off. The reason I even booked was for the shuttle for the fact we wanted to not drive as much since eh it is vacation. My better half has Chronic back pain from a construction accident so walking lon... First trip to Pittsburgh and had a wonderful stay here. Staff was great. Shuttle service was excellent and definitely was great to have not knowing all of Pittsburgh. Took us to Heinz field and picked us up after the game. Will definitely come back here next trip to Pittsburgh.

Stayed here the weekend of October 8-9 for a Steelers home game. The hotel itself is nothing fancy but a nice hotel not far from Heinz Field. Even though it was sold out both nights, it was very quiet. The staff was very helpful whenever we had questions. The best part of staying here was the shuttle to the game. They drop you off downtown about a mile from the stadium. From there you can walk to the game or take the subway (right across the street from the dropoff spot), which takes you right t... Read more

My son and I were traveling to Pittsburgh to go to a Steeler game so we needed someplace clean and decent, but not necessarily fancy. Reasonable price a must. Hampton Inn Greentree fit the bill, and we were not the only ones to think so - the entire place was filled with people in either Steelers or Jets jerseys. Property is in an industrial park, so there is no one and nothing around on a weekend. But it's 10 minutes or so from downtown Pittsburgh, and right off the highway. Very clean, and eve... Read more

My husband decided on this hotel due to it being fairly close to Heinz field. We didn't realize it wasn't actually in Pittsburgh, but the location was fine. We arrived on Friday and check-in was quick and the two folks that checked us in were great! They gave us some tips on places to go etc. The room was a king size bed room, it was clean and the bed was comfy! The bathroom was clean and had the normal amenities that Hilton properties always supply. The offer a hot breakfast (also a Ham... Read more

I do not usually do surveys, I called 10 other hotels and no one would let us stay there because we are smokers, Hampton Inn had smoking rooms and they where nice and clean. The staff was very friendly, they have a shuttle service that took us to downtown Pittsburgh where we saw our 1st Steelers game, it was the a great time and we will be back, and we will be staying at the Hampton Inn.

If you are in the Pittsburgh area you can not find a better place to stay. The staff are the most courteous I have ever encountered. They make sure your stay is awesome. They have a shuttle so you can park and ride to almost anywhere in the area you want to visit.

Hotel was nice. Ladies working 10/8 evening are fabulous!!! Thank you for the outstanding customer service (sorry I couldn't remember your names) Dennis the driver and the manager on that weekend were fabulous too. Hope the hotel didn't get too much backlash from other guests regarding the unruly hockey kids running a muck while their parents pretended not to notice their horrendous behavior. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we are in the neighborhood. Thanks for all the fresh ... Read more

My company sent me up to Pittsburgh for 2 week stays twice in the past two months. I couldn't have asked for anything more out of this hotel for the price. Both of my rooms were clean and fully stocked. Both mattresses I had were very comfortable. The breakfast was decent. I had maintenance issues during both stays but they were addressed immediately. The location is quiet and as an alone, 22 year old female, I felt very safe!

This hotel is located just outside of Pittsburgh. It was clean, well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would say the best perk of this hotel was the complimentary shuttle bus. The bus ran every hour and dropped at 13 local spots in the city. To get a return trip, you just had to call the hotel to schedule to be picked up at one of the drop points. Lots of sports fans here. Highly recommend!

This is a very typical Hampton Inn. The price is reasonable and the location works out great for work. If I were staying more than one night I may not be thrilled sine the workout room is very limited. But it is clean and quiet. I do wish the rooms would be cooler.

This Hampton property does not impress on first impressions but provides a decent place to spend the night. Older model, a bit tucked away, looks a bit tired. Staff: very friendly, helpful. Noticed I was in a smoking room and moved me to a non-smoking floor and room without me having to ask. Room: Clean, updated TV and programming (important if you've suffered through the old design), non-smoking area was fresh. This hotel does allow smoking so check if that is important to you. Using Bing, I searched "Hampton Inn Greentree" and got scammed by a link, which makes you think you're booking on Hampton Inn/Hilton's website (google " scam" and find endless articles and complaints). Upon checkout, I asked for a receipt and the woman at the desk said my room was booked through a 3rd party and so she could not print a receipt. I questioned this and she was apathetic, even when I told her I booked directly. She then said the room was booked th... Read more

If you have stayed at Hampton Inn before, you know what you will get since they all look very much alike from city to city. This one was of good value just outside the city centre but easily reached by car. They also had a shuttle service which I did not have need for this occasion. Room was clean and bed comfortable as at every Hampton I have visited. Breakfast provided a start but nothing to write home about. We stayed here on a visit to Pitt because the hotels in town were pricey. This hotel is located in an out of the way kind of eerie feeling location with not much else around it. The staff was very friendly but the rooms seemed a little outdated and our room had a bad smell when we walked in. I turned on the air conditioning hoping to get rid of the smell. My husband and I were doing a cross country road trip and passed by Pittsburgh for a night at the Hampton Inn. Having never stayed at one, it was good for its kind of hotel. Nothing fancy by any means but it was clean and the free shuttle service was a plus. It's location isn't as close to downtown as you would like but that's probably why there is a shuttle service. Would stay here again if I was looking for a value hotel in the area.

This is a nice hotel. Hilton members get points towards their stay. They have great rooms, comfortable beds and nice clean bathrooms. Their breakfast is a full spread. We got eggs, waffles, fruit and bread which is all inclusive. The staff is nice. Checkout is at 11 but you can extend it to 12. Our room had a sofa bed for my son to sleep. Parking is free.

We picked this hotel because we needed a pit stop on our drive home for Thanksgiving that was convenient to the interstate and (most importantly) dog friendly. Because we had our pup with us, they gave us a room on the first floor as well as a doggie treat bag. Comfortable room, good breakfast, and a small area where our dog could relieve himself before hopping back on the road again. No complaints from us.

Hotel has an uncontrolled pet friendly policy. They say they keep patrons with pets on the first floor while at the same time admitting they have no idea who has brought in pets. I saw a vicious looking dog and family going up the elevator. Housekeeping does a little more time cleaning where a pet has lodged, they claim, but if Fido urinates in the carpet, it will take a professional cleaner to get the stain and the stench out. That is, if they indeed know a pet has stayed in any given room. And... Read more
