We checked in at almost 1 AM and were out by 7:30 AM - due to heavy traffic coming in from NJ. The bed was clean as was the bathroom; but it was a lot of money to 'sleep' at a place (not that that was their fault). Not sure I'd book this again, though.

If the slogan for your hotel chain is "100% Satisfaction or Your Stay is Free" THEN you should offer me my stay for free if I have a legit claim. At 2:30am I was awakened thinking I had fell asleep in a night club! No doubt the hotel needed to sell more rooms, so they allowed 20+ people to purchase a room. The room was used solely as a place to party and eat pizza. I called down twice and both times a security guard was sent up BUT did nothing more than ask what they were doing. They literally t... We recently spent the weekend here. Check-in was easy (warm cookies were a welcome surprise), the room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean also. We only spent 2 nights here and really only tend to sleep and shower when we travel anyhow. The fitness centre seems more than andequate. We didn't check out the pool or eat in the dining room. We did appreciate the free shuttle our first night there since we checked in a bit late and just wanted to grab some food and drinks. Staff were m... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for four nights to re-visit her hometown and to see a Pirates game. The hotel is very conveniently located for sightseeing, and it is very close to the subway station where one catches the FREE subway to PNC Park. It is also very close to Point State Park and some beautiful churches and fine restaurants. The hotel is very clean, the valet parking is very convenient, and the restaurant is very nice. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating. The only problem... Read more

I stayed at the Doubletree in downtown PIT to attend a conference at the Convention Center, which is a pleasant (in good weather!) walk of about 8 to 10 minutes from the hotel. Many restaurants etc. are about the same distance from the hotel. Cabs are scarce in downtown PIT, so simply hailing a cab is not going to happen...better to use uber.

I stayed at the DoubleTree with my family in late May for Game 5 of the Penguins-Lightning series. When we arrived to check in, the friendly valet took care of parking our car (at a cost of only $20 for 2 days) and the front desk staff was super friendly and welcoming. As we were checking in, we requested a fridge for my dad's medication (which has to be kept cold), and they offered to bring one up right away, as only some of the rooms are equipped with mini fridges. Convenience of the city comes with a price...street noise. The hotel and staff were 4 stars - the bed 5 - but it was noisy and thus I slept poorly. The room was also a bit awkward in arrangement. The bathroom door opened to the front door...where you have a clear view of the peep hole. Doubletree should double up on noise buffering & double check the layout.

You are given the opportunity to select your room thru an interactive map. We were on floor 19 - beautiful views of downtown! CONS: our bed was concave and sunk in the middle. HUH? Haven't previous guests complained about this? Seems like a high priority fix. Housekeeping forgot to replenish our linens one day. Ice machine on our floor didn't work. PROS: we got a good rate and the location worked well for us.

Great staff, wonderful room and great facilities. I tend to stay in Pittsburgh for long periods and having stayed in a few different locations, The DoubleTree is by far my firm favourite with very comfortable spacious rooms, very friendly and helpful staff members who will do pretty much anything you ask of them, (within reason), and the gym is great, it lacks one or two pieces of equipment that would make it perfect for me but it is head and shoulders above many other hotels. I stayed here with a coworker for a business trip. The room was very big and especially nice for 2 guys sharing a room for work. By that, I mean the bathroom was down a little hallway which gave us a bit more privacy. The room was clean and well stocked. Parking was actually pretty good for a downtown hotel. They have a garage in the basement so we didn't have to wait 20 minutes for a valet. There was a convenience store located right on the ground floor of the hotel so that was nice.

We like the Doubletree and have stayed many times. Parking is a bit of a pain because it is valet and will get backed up or the garage full. There is parking nearby and it is honestly less expensive. I'd recommend looking into it. We parked under the US Steel (now UPMC) building for $14/day/weekend rate. There area a number of new/other hotels in town but they fill up quickly on game day. Seemed to be a good location, staff was friendly, but the rooms are old, the shower didn't work (only stayed one night and had to run out in the AM so didn't have time to complain about it) and the fridge seemed to stop working, which was a challenge since I was traveling and needed to store milk for my child. Luckily I had a ziplock bag and ran to the ice machine and filled it with ice to put in the fridge to keep it cold. On that topic, the staff couldn... Read more

Sleep comfort, and cleanliness of the room and hotel were well beyond expectation. The restaurant breakfast omelette was very delicious. When I asked for downtown walking directions the desk staff printed out directions and walked outside to point out landmarks to assist with directions.

Big rooms, free WiFi unless other DoubleTree hotels. Coffee making facilities, safe, valet parking. Nice price and good location. I can recommend this hotel. Next to entrance there is a 7/11 if You should need something.

The hotel was good, shuttle service awesome, WiFi was average...overall...I would come stay again! I had one day housekeeping did not clean my room, but the others days were done to my satisfaction. The front desk staff was super nice. You can walk to many places, shuttle from the hotel, Uber, Lyft or catch a taxi!

I attended an Steelers game and the location is awesome. Was really easy to go to the stadium on the subway and it was free. The service during the breakfast was slow. The bed was small. The room was nice and very clean.

This oddly located midrange hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, defines dumpiness. While the staff was helpful and professional, the lobby was oddly uninviting, the hallways filled with the stagnant smell of mildew. All of this was a lead up to the oddly configured, and faintly penal rooms. The furnishings were OK, but the bathroom was worn: metal doorframe rusting, tiles pulling out from the walls. The carpet seemed yucky, the phone was dirty, and the buttons malfunctioned. This hotel looks like the... Read more

Pro: As a HH member I was upgraded to a suite, which was really nice. I was within walking distance to what I needed. The hotel has a restaurant - the room service is convenient. Con: The internet connectivity on high floors is lousy at best to non-existent. If you are going to stay, make sure you are on a low floor. You will not get any support on the upper levels if you have a poor connection. This was also a really expensive place to stay, prepare for the $22/day parking charge. You're safer... Read more

We stayed for 2 nights from a Saturday to a Monday. We had a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom suite. It was very spacious for 3 people. Decor was just ok and mostly plain and sparse. The cost was $327 usd per night plus taxes plus parking. I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of the breakfast and the fact that room service ended at 11:00. I liked the shuttle and found it helpful for getting to restaurants but the T was the best to get to Heinz field. Overall it was a nice hotel but I would ... Read more

I spent there more that 2 weeks. Hotel staff was ok and helpful. Location was for me perfect, I worked across the street. There is a subway statition next to the hotel and a hockey arena behind hotel. Room was decent and clean but we were on 5th floor and behind our windows all day buzz the air conditioning for the pool and cofference rooms - really noisy and annoying. The pool is amazing but without a room for changing clothes. It is downtown, but still little bit expensive

Stayed here for 2 nights on a weekend with my son to explore colleges and go to Steelers game. Hilton Honors member. For the price was expecting a lot more. We had Queen bed -suite. Positives: Only Location. Downtown. Close to subway for north and south locations. Walking distance to stadiums and restaurants downtown. Colleges in area. Negatives: price. Extremely overpriced. Almost Fairmont hotel prices. Hotel was converted to a doubletree. Older hotel. Checked in on phone selected room but... Read more

I am always made to feel like I am as close to home as possible when I stay at the DoubleTree in Green Tree. Great staff and very accommodating. My business travels are often rather stressful and knowing that I am going to be able to relax when I get back to my room is a huge uplift in my day. I can honestly say that I never had a negative experience at any DoubleTree, but this one holds a special place in my itinerary...

I stayed on the 11th floor and at times it seemed as if the outside noise was right in my room. The indoor noise wasn't great either as I could hear the TV across the hall over mine. Paper thin walls to say the least. Shower did not work correctly and no vent fan in the bathroom. Valet parking, on site Grille, 7-11 attached to the hotel, shuttle and great downtown location were the good parts. I understand there will be noise in a downtown area but this was way too much for my sleeping needs.

Came to Pittsburgh for a friend's wedding. The front desk staff are amazing. Took a few days to meet one of their new managers, but everything went amazingly well! The food in the Bigelow Grille is amazing! There were other wedding guests and Steelers fans, and even though I had a connecting room, no noise bothered me. Would DEFINITELY recommend!

Would not recommend. $20 charge to park even though you are a guest. Dont even offer complimentary coffee in the morning. Rooms are relatively clean and ability to control temperature in the room is nearly impossible. Staff really addresses none of these issues.

Check in was a breeze the staff extraordinarily friendly courteous and nice- centrally locates within walking distance of so many attractions and the "T" was right across the street and it was free for the weekend.

Stayed for 3 days for good value versus location near the convention center. There is parking in the building yet be prepared for expensive valet parking. The valet parking service is good. Even on 11 th floor the rooms are noisy with street traffic; al windows were closed. The room with a semi contemporary fresh appearance, was clean and accessories were functional. The staff is friendly and courteous. The bathroom is very cramped and the layout with an adjacent, almost empty nook is bizarre.

The staff at this property made me feel like a valued guest! It began with the early check-in accommodation and only continued to be a great experience through my stay. They made everything right! I ordered an egg white omelet for breakfast and it was amazing. This was the best solo weekend getaway at a great hotel. Great job for meeting the Hilton Standard!

My spouse and I stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown for one night in early October 2016 on the evening of a college football game. It was also the night prior to a Steelers game and the day of a Penguins game, so it was busy in the city,. We stayed at the Doubletree twice previously in 2013 and 2012 (see our review from September 2012 titled ‚??Fine Choice in Downtown Pittsburgh‚??). We reserved our room online using the Hilton website. Hilton sent us an email t... Read more

This is the second stay and review. I returned to the "dahntahn" DoubleTree for a number of reasons. First is location. It's conveniently located to the PPG Paints Arena, the Strip District, Market Square, Benedum Center, and many museums (Andy Warhol, Bicycles and the Carnegie Science Center) in the downtown and North Shore area. Lots of places to eat close by too. Second is the service. Everyone is so helpful from the front desk all the way down to onsite restaurant and valet attendants. And t... Read more
