There is no other place to stay in Philly, as far as I am concerned. The hotel is not only centrally located and within walking distance of the historic sites and modern hot-spots in Philly but also have a beyond excellent staff. The manager is personable and willing to support guests. I truly felt valued when I stayed here. The lobby and hotel bar is also top notch!

The hotel is very nice and clean. It is ideally located in center city Philadelphia. The hotel is connected to The Shops at Liberty Place which is a mini mall. It also is right next to tons of shopping, restaurants, bars etc. Everything is a minimal walk from this hotel. The rooms were very clean nice and spacious. I parked else where to save money on valet.

Hotel was very nice but not worth $400 a night plus $50 to park your car a night. Bar service was atrocious. Terrible was too kind. Front desk was ok. However would not give me a late check out. Keep in mind I paid $400 plus. I would not stay here again unless there were no other rooms.

The property is well maintained and in great condition. The facilities are clean and modern. Very clean grounds from the front street, side walk, and throughout the hotel. Paul at check in was a pleasure to deal with. He is proud of what he does and it shows. He is definitely the person you want in customer relations. Jonathan was also very customer oriented and loves what he does. Every staff member I met was engaged, courteous, professional, and loyal to the job and brand. The rooms are amazin... Read more

can't comment a ton on the hotel did not do much but sleep there. did love the bedding though, this might not be a knock on this hotel but hotels in general not having a fridge other than the stocked mini bar is a disappointment. can't keep any thing cold water for your pills in the am the hotel offers a fridge but it has a cost. the d├ęcor was nice tv was huge and the staff that I spoke with were all polite and friendly. location can not be beat walked everywhere plenty to do!

We spent two nights here when we were in town for a wedding. The lobby was nice but I didn't like that we had to take two different elevators to get outside. We did the self-park at the Mall and walked to the hotel to save a few bucks (in that case it was three elevators). It was still $74 to park for two days but I guess that's to be expected in the city. The room was average and I wouldn't say there was much of a view even though we were on the top floor. Downtown Philly is smaller than it looks on the map, and it's a fairly easy walk from the train station to the Westin if your bags aren't heavy; and there are many public transit options (subway, trolley, bus, taxi) if they are. Nice clean, modern hotel. The only fault I had with the room was that the shower valve didn't close all the way, so there wasn't much shower pressure, while the tub filled up to my ankles.

The staff was very nice. The location is great with easy access to many shops and restaurants. That said, the common area carpeting is faded in high-traffic areas, something that should not be so obvious in this caliber of a hotel. Also, the hallways were literally freezing; something was quite amiss with their temp... Read more

This is a solid business hotel near most any destination in the central business district. The lobby check-in and bar area has been remodeled in recent years and is more hospitable to meeting up and hanging out. The rooms are spacious and the beds are big. As a SPG Platinum member, it's hit or miss whether the room I get offers me a complimentary bottle of water. Room service is OK satisfactory - definitely nothing to write home about. The gym is sufficient. Grabbing a cab is super easy and... Read more

Can't say anything negative about our experience here. Anthony on reception was excellent when we checked in. He advised us of a lovely restaurant around the corner, rang to see if any availability, booked it for us and printed off a sample menu. The gastro pub was exactly what we were looking for. When coming back in he asked did we like it. Room was spacious room, well equipped.

The Westin Philadelphia is a beautiful hotel. Located in the heart of downtown Philadelphia in a prime location near shopping, theaters and good restaurants. The room I was given was well-appointed, as were all of the public spaces. I ate several meals at the hotel and the food was good as well. As a frequent business traveler I look for things to nitpick and could find very little fault at this Westin location. The Calacatta Gold marble in the bathrooms is stunning as are the crystal chandelier... Read more

After an exhausting series of flights, to check in at midnight to a friendly reception staff was good. Hotel is in a lovely old historic building which has been developed into a stylish hotel. Room was good, as I have come to expect when staying at Westins. Breakfast in morning was good. Only regret is I had such little time in Philly to look around. Being the first time there, I definitely would like to come back, and I would stay again at the Westin.

I was very excited for my three night stay while in town for a conference, but upon arrival was given a run around for workout gear I had requested prior to arrival. I spoke with Geri the concierge and was assured that my requested sizes would be available at the checkin desk. When I arrived, the associate was not aware of any clothes and nothing was noted in the computer. After calling someone, the associate was told where at the front desk the clothes were located and I was relieved. I went to... Read more

Booked a room ~10 days in advance, was able to check in upon arrival (at 2 pm) and was on the SPG floor (room 1226). Great overall stay - clean room, GREAT shower - only downside is that I wasn't there longer. Received a bonus 1500 SPG points for checking out by 10 am too. Will definitely stay again for location and service.

Just checked out from here, as I was visiting friends in Philadelphia this weekend. I'll start with the positive/neutral items: - Great location in Center City, incredibly close and within walking distance to Philly's great nightlife and shopping. - I booked using SPG points, and would say that I received tremendous value for the point spend. - Fitness center and bar were on-par with what I'd expect from a Westin property. Kudos to the great customer service and pleasant attitude from all of ... Read more

We booked two rooms for a family event. 25-45 minute drive from the airport. The location is very good to reach the city sites. Most everything we saw was 6 to 10 blocks away. About a 20-30 min walk. Uber was inexpensive and readily available. We drove up it seemed like a very extended time for the bell man to help us with all of our luggage. The process was disorganized and the Bellman was not able to regain charge of the task he was trying to do. The grounds were stained and dirty an... Read more

After a long day of shopping, Gerri, suggested a delicious pizza place that delivered and actually put in the order for us. She is a gem; I know her kindness and spirit makes the Westin and Philadelphia a place I will always want to stay and visit. This hotel was a huge disappointment. As I hoped (based on stays at other Westin hotels) the mattress and pillows were VERY comfortable, and the bedding was clean and fresh. The rest of the room, however, varied from dusty (everywhere) to downright filthy (the soap dish in the shower had scum and someone else's hair left behind, the hardware fittings were rusted, and the caulking was mildewed in places). The stocked mini-fridge door lock was broken (locked shut), so I stopped by the front desk o... Read more

I'm a huge Marriott fan and have been loyal to the brand since 2010, staying over 750 nights in the last 6 years. As such I was very excited to welcome Starwood hotels to the Marriott family. So the last few months I've started staying at SPG properties including the Westin in Philadelphia. Overall, I'd give this hotel a 2.5/5 rating. It's poorly managed period. Check-in experience: 1/5. Small check in area. For the most part, the associates are either over worked or just disinterested. No ac... Read more

This Westin exceeded my expectations in that the room was beautiful. Although I love all Westins and I am somewhat partial this one is above and beyond the green in the rooms that sometimes needs a little facelift. This hotel add blue carpet, beautiful molding on the walls and just some lovely touches to kick it up a notch. The lobby and Bar are also first-rate beautiful comfortable and enjoyable. Although we were given early check in at around 11:15am (which I really appreciated) the room that we were assigned to were not up to the Westin standard (or any other SPG Property for that matter). Upon walking in, we discovered that the bed linens are not properly "made" and looks very sloppy. Maybe the housekeeper is having a bad day? Once we arrived we and entered our room there was no view and we weren't placed on an higher level floor. We called front desk and they told us there was nothing they could do. The safe also did not work so we waited about 45 minutes for the repair man to fix it. The shower handle was also broken. To sum this review up. It's not worth the money to stay at the Westin. This Westin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were greeted cheerfully by the gentleman at the front desk and had a pleasant, smooth check-in. The lobby bar was attractive with a pleasant, busy vibe. Our room on the Starwood level was spacious and nicely appointed. We appreciated the bowls of fruit in the hall and the fresh coffee in the lobby. Only gripe--no towel bars in the bathroom.

The rooms are decent, but best thing about the Westin is its location -- its a reasonable walking distance to the stores, restaurants and bars around Rittenhouse Square, to the Barnes Museum and Franklin Institute, Reading Terminal Market and the Convention Center. The hotel is also connected to a drab shopping mall, but the mall had little of interest. Look to the local neighborhood for a quick carry out breakfast --all the Westin offered was an expensive table service sit down restaurant. T... Read more

We stayed in Philly at the Westin Hotel with friends for 2 nights. The one thing I wasn't aware of was the premium that parking has in the downtown area... very, very few street spots anywhere and expensive garages. The hotel garage is about $40 per 24 hours, but for $10 more, you can valet park, which is by far the better choice. With valet parking you can take your car out anytime by texting your ticket number 10 minutes before you need the car. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful for the... Read more

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's close to City Hall, shopping on Walnut Street, Rittenhouse Square, museums and about a mile from Drexel and U Penn. Parking is expensive so we chose to park elsewhere in town. The lobby is on the second floor, which isn't a big deal but requires a transfer each time you want to go to your room. Great business hotel in center city. An easy walk to public transit and great restaurants in Rittenhouse square. For such a small hotel to require two elevators to reach a room is odd, but not a deal breaker. The rooms are small but neat and clean with modern touches. Everything about the stay was very nice, the room was spacious, the staff was all incredibly kind. The only complaint I have would be that upon checkout I was assured by the woman at the reception desk that I had no additional charges, yet after leaving I noticed my card had been charged an additional $100, I was never informed of any additional charges and if this is a standard fee it should have been mentioned to me by the receptionist instead of being a surprise later.

Yet another Westin that doesn't seem to realize that guests use their cell phone as an alarm clock and will need to simultaneously charge the device at the nightstand. It almost 2017. Hampton Inns have figured this out and 95% of the time have a multi-plug outlet or USB port on the nightstand. Sometimes both nightstands. Seriously, this is an easy one to get right, SPG! Other than this, the hotel was fine.
