It's a good choice if you want to visit the historical center of the city. Elegant and calm. Quiet place but close to main streets. The room was spacious and wide enough. Breakfast buffet not bad but a Little bit expensive. Good to have Starbucks coffee in the hall.

I was here last week and I thought it was a really good place to stay. There are other options that are cheaper in the area. This particular location is pricey for the quality of room you have. I understand the facility has doormen and valet but $250 a night is high. The restaurant was good for dinner and ok for breakfast. No system for when someone walks up and needs to be sat. Its like whoever at the time walks by will seat you. The rooms were very clean and the service was very good. ... Read more

This hotel is a few blocks from lots of activities. The activities are not free and actually generally a little higher priced than the like in other cities. If you've got some money there is lots of fun to be had. A must see is reading terminal market. This is about a $7 taxi ride or about a 15 block walk, well worth it, some of the best food I have ever eaten with about 80 venders...fresh and delicious. The hotel itself is a couple blocks from the market street the main area. We ate at the bar/... Read more

This hotel was hosting a conference. It was ok, but not great. The poster room was too crowded. Breakfast was bad. The rooms were very large and nice though. Disadvantage was that a couple of tourists made it noisy past midnight. The location is fantastic though.

We have just stayed at this Sheraton for 3 nights. What a wonderful welcome from a wonderful Hotel. The staff were really professional and the Concierge Diane went out of her way to assist us with the Big Bus voucher we had. The rooms were spotless and we couldn't have asked for more. Our only disappointment was, there was no fridge in the room.

Haven't stayed here in awhile. Quickly reminded of what a great staff works here. Great setting in historic area. Great location by the river. Always reliable stop. Karen and Jordan always insure your reservations are exactly as expected. Not sure how they set train their staff here, but the consistency of knowledgeable and pleasant employees has not wavered in all the years I've been coming here. If you're in Philly, treat yourself to a night.

Stayed over the weekend for a quick getaway to Philadelphia with the husband and our yellow labrador retriever. We used our SPG points for this stay and from the time of booking, the experience and service was impeccable. It's a bit of a challenge finding a hotel that takes large dogs, and I'm glad that the Sheraton Philadelphia Society Hill Hotel doesâ??and they even provide dog beds. When booking with points, one usually does not expect much. However, we were given a room on the Club Floor. O... Read more

I loved the location! It is in the old city, which is within walking distance of most historic sites. I hated that this Hotel is on a cobblestone street. Rooms are typical sheraton rooms with small bathrooms. The restaurant is limited and not cheap.

It has been several years since my last stay at this hotel. In the interim it has been completely remodeled and updated. The hotel is located in the historic old city of Philadelphia. It is a great neighborhood, close to all the major historic sites and it is a quick 10 minute walk to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The hotel provides Valet parking (at a charge) which is extremely convenient for guests. There is a very nice indoor pool on the fourth floor which is heated and has skyl... Read more

The hotel is in a great location near historic attractions. There are many good restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Our room was comfortable. The bed and pillows were comfy. The decor is a bit tired but okay. Our ac was very loud when we first arrived. We called the front desk to tell them and they immediately sent a maintenance person up who worked on the unit and then replaced it. He was a very pleasant person. Excellent stay overnight while having to be in the city for consecutive day appointments. What a pleasure to not have to drive in both days at rush hour, had a great nights sleep in a most pleasant room. Friendly front desk staff, valet parking attentive and at a rate I find in most cities. So, if you need to be around center city Phila or in the historic part of the city with access in a quiet location...this is it. WE came to explore and experience Philly. This hotel was in a lovely section of the Historic District, with easy access to the route of busses and in walking distance to many of the historic sites as well as the very large Visitor Center, which is central to Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the hub of busses and the double decker tour busses. Clean, beautifully appointed with helpful and friendly staff. They also accept AARP for a discount on room.

My sisters wedding was near the hotel, so she got a room block for everyone. First take back was the price... $241 plus tax per night. 2nd thing was there were no refrigerators in the rooms, you have to request one, (which I did ahead of time). 3rd was the parking, after tax it is $42 per night! We refused to pay the parking, and got lucky with a spot out front at the meter which cost a total of $24 per 24hrs. This is a great hotel! I think the location and how nice the hotel is makes up for staff short comings. I can explain: It's located in a great part about of town near the historic/tourist area, tons of restaurants, and the area has a lot of energy. The hotel lobby is nice and has a historic feel. Everything is in walking distance. It makes up for the shortcomings of the hotel. -Valet - very crowded when we pulled in, they were overwhelmed. Many people were trying to leave and we were the... Located close to the famed attractions of downtown Philadelphia, this hotel is at the same time set apart from the historic section. Even though it overlooks Bookbinder's and is near the City Tavern, it is modern and spacious--a red brick, four-story hotel. All the meeting rooms are on the first floor (we were there for a conference), and the hotel efficiently managed not only our meeting but two weddings at the same time. Well appointed hotel for tourists and the look of the place was what you would expect for the price. Good sized rooms, comfy beds, clean, tidy etc etc, box ticked also. Whilst the staff were not rude (the concierge was a nice, cheerful and helpful chap to be fair) I thought they were over fussy and bureaucratic, some parts of the hotel clearly didn't communicate well with each other. The lobby was spacious and had a lot of seating areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was nice with very comfortable beds. We parked our car at the hotel, but, there is a parking garage around the corner the charges less.

Other reviews have noted the relatively high prices relative to the amenities for this hotel. While I agree, the service we experienced was good, and the location relative to Old Town is outstanding. Starting with City Tavern a block away, walking into Independence National Historic Park was an interesting and easy transition from the hotel. We also enjoyed the skylit pool, the lobby, and our east-facing king bed room.

I enjoyed my stay. The location was convenient and the staff was very kind, honest, and accommodating. The hotel is relatively small but that adds to it's coziness and charm. I forgot my computer cord and the security lead (Anthony) kindly put it aside. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about is parking...it can be quite tricky around there. So the best thing to do is to get valet parking I suppose.

This was our second visit to the Sheraton Society Hill. Remembering the cleanliness, comfort and roominess of our rooms on both occasions. Their lounge, Taste, was very good. The menu was varied and we were able to sit and relax while enjoying our drinks and food. Their hospitality suite offered varied items for breakfast as well as during the day. Very convenient location to Philadelphia's historical area where you can walk in safety and enjoy the sites.
