I went to this hotel as it was provided by my employer for a conference. I shared a room with one of my coworkers. I thought the room was very nice. It's a little on the small side, but to me, that is to be expected in a hotel downtown. I would have preferred double sinks in the bathroom, but otherwise I have no complaints. It was clean and appeared well maintained. The room was pretty quiet too. You'll hear a tiny bit of outside traffic noise, but it is not disruptive. There is a bar onsite, bu... Read more

We were in town for a UPENN graduation so the hotel prices in the area were definitely marked up for that time. The outside appearance of this hotel really needs some renovating as other travelers have said. Every time our cab or Uber brought us back to the hotel it always felt like we were going down a dark alley to get to the entrance. Rooms were just "ok". Our first room had a HUGE cockroach lurking around on the floor under the bathroom sink and paint and wallpaper was coming off of the wall... Read more

It's a big city hotel, which is getting some needed upgrades. It is clean, the beds are AMAZING, and the hotel itself is well made, so little to no noise from the halls. Bar was nice, staff was incredible. Greg at the Bellstand in particular stands out. We had two kids waiting for a ride for two hours in the lobby, and he couldn't do enough for them. He was a gem. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

After reading some negative reviews, I was wary. But this is a very good "big city" hotel with reasonable rates, and it is close to everything, including the top museums. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful.

I usually stay at the Windsor Suites in Philly, however we decided to give Sheraton a chance because of the review and location. We were disappointed. The gentleman at the front desk who check us in wasn't friendly. Our room was clean, but the toilet seat was broken and our bed was improperly mad up. No refrigerator nor a safe in the room. Our room was next door to the staff room and the door made so much noise and they go in and out throughout our stay. On the positive note the lobby of is gor... Read more

I visited this hotel as part of a group activity. I had hoped to be in-and-out, picking up some materials, but the materials weren't ready (not the Sheraton's fault). While there (3-6PM), I saw groups of people (hundreds) sitting on the floor all over, waiting for their rooms. 'rooms not released by housekeeping yet' was the answer whenever someone inquired. Then people would wander to the WaWa or Subway, down a couple of blocks, because they couldn't afford the bar food, or there wasn't much r... Read more

I am here for a convention and I have to say that my experience so at this hotel has negatively impacted my enjoyment of the conference. The hallways are so dirty and the same room service tray has been in the hall for 24 hours along with a random glass that has been in the hall for over two days. The beds are so lumpy that when I came back to my room I wasn't even sure housekeeping made the beds. I have stayed here several times for conferences, and, I have to say, for $129 a night, you can't beat it. The hotel is quite large, has its own gift shop, and a huge staff. In fact, the staff is the best part. After three stays, they have always been helpful, including things like advising me on the most economical way to get to the airport. I had an important package shipped in, and it was waiting for me when I got there. The restaurant is mediocre, but passable. The breakfast buffet is typ... Read more

My recent experience at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown was very bad. As a frequent business traveler, I see many different properties in many different locations. This hotel ranks as one of the worse I have been in. Here are a list of issues I experienced. 1) The parking garage is a mess. Beds were fairly comfortable, though. Asked to be moved and tried 3 rooms on the "renovated" floors and one room smelled moldy/woodsy and there was trash on the floor, the next room's bathroom had another, different, bad odor; and, the last room was wonderful, except the AC unit in the wall was noisy and... I am a rewards member of the SPG group, and have stayed at many Sheraton hotels for business travel. I would say that my experiences for the most part have always been good. Indeed, it hasn't been remodeled in the last few years, but it is a clean place and the people working there are pleasant and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My daughters and I enjoyed the convenience of its location and appreciated the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff. Located blocks from the Phila Museum of Art, the Rodin Museum the Franklin Institute, dozens of restaurants, municipal buildings including the beautiful City Hall and Dilworth Plaza and much more. We were a little disappointed by the dirty and frayed hall and room carpet, the noisy air conditioner and toilet and old fashioned room furnishing.

Stayed at the Sheraton while attending a conference in Philly and was generally pleased. It's a typical Sheraton ... big, relatively big rooms, aging a bit (some dings in the furniture, rather basic bathrooms, a ring or two missing on the shower curtain), professional staff. One thing that I notice is that even though there was a huge music festival going on with a lot of young fans around, the rooms were admirably quiet.

Mary was so pleasant and helpful, I felt confident in Mary that everything would go smoothly even though I was thousands of miles away! And it did! Thank you so much Mary, you saved the day!

Stayed for one night October 15-16. Was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms, bed sheets and bed skirts with marks and appeared to be unwashed. Carpeting with numerous stains... was changed to another room which was slightly better but still carpeting and bed sheets with stains. The manager was receptive to the complaints which I appreciated, but would avoid this hotel in the future, or go for the downtown location but know the rooms require upgrading and are not up to par.

I would have rated this probably a 2.5 star. The staff was fine, but the condition of the hotel was shabby. The hallway to our room was dirty and smelled musty, there was paint chipping and stains on woodwork and walls. Our room was missing all but 1 decaf coffee pod. The one positive was the view was exceptional. Our friends room had a rug that was bubbled up in a number of places. We had also stopped in at the lobby bar after a long night out and dealt with a very rude waitress. I know the hot... Read more

I am a Starwood loyalist, however I would not book this hotel again. The building, rooms and furniture are beat up, patched together and generally have a poor appearance. To top it off, there were two huge hair balls in my shower from the previous guest(s)! I think there are newer, cleaner hotels in the marketplace that offer a better value.

Our stay in Oct 2016 was great. The rooms were spacious, clean, and given the location (Downtown, older in nature) seems to be kept up. We enjoyed our stay and the added bonus was that the margaritas at the downstairs were always great and Ms. Mary Mastrobuoni, concierge was excellent in service. Her recommendations were thoughtful and she went above and beyond to get us there, reserved seating and answered all our questions. Kudos!

For the cost of this hotel they need to do major upgrades and do a better job cleaning. A pair of used contact lenses remained on the bathroom floor the whole time I was there. Janice one of the food service people was great and always is. Food could be much better. Eggs were cold, coffee was burnt.

Made very late plans for overnight stay (this past Sat to Sun) celebrating friends' 50th anniversary and various reservations were unattainable. Our friends were treated as celebrities by the hotel staff and Mary was incredibly helpful in planning events for our short stay and getting us the "tough" dinner reservation at an outstanding steak house. Never rushed us although she was alone at the desk at a busy time.

Took forever to check in- they had us waiting an hour. But they comped our parking so that's good... Kind of looks like an older building, could use a remodel, but it was clean inside. I got one of those last minute deals so the price was pretty good. We got an incredible view of the art museum and BF parkway. Room was very nice and clean. Would recommend.

However, the star of the property is Mary Mastrobuoni, the Concierge who made super efficient and very correct recommendations in terms of how to plan our day, what to see, where to eat and how to get around town. If you are not aware, Sheraton has a "pay your age" rate that is valid at select properties at certain times. If available, it can start on a Thursday night and can be used for two or three nights. You pay the going rate the first night, then pay a rate tied into the year you were born. So if you were born in 1950, you pay $50 for the second and third nights. This is exclusive of taxes and fees, but if you stay three nights, it brings the overall average room price down to a reasonable rate.
