I went to this hotel as it was provided by my employer for a conference. I shared a room with one of my coworkers. I thought the room was very nice. It's a little on the small side, but to me, that is to be expected in a hotel downtown. I would have preferred double sinks in the bathroom, but otherwise I have no complaints. It was clean and appeared well maintained. The room was pretty quiet too. You'll hear a tiny bit of outside traffic noise, but it is not disruptive. There is a bar onsite, bu... Read more

We were in town for a UPENN graduation so the hotel prices in the area were definitely marked up for that time. The outside appearance of this hotel really needs some renovating as other travelers have said. Every time our cab or Uber brought us back to the hotel it always felt like we were going down a dark alley to get to the entrance. Rooms were just "ok". Our first room had a HUGE cockroach lurking around on the floor under the bathroom sink and paint and wallpaper was coming off of the wall... Read more

It's a big city hotel, which is getting some needed upgrades. It is clean, the beds are AMAZING, and the hotel itself is well made, so little to no noise from the halls. Bar was nice, staff was incredible. Greg at the Bellstand in particular stands out. We had two kids waiting for a ride for two hours in the lobby, and he couldn't do enough for them. He was a gem. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

I usually stay at the Windsor Suites in Philly, however we decided to give Sheraton a chance because of the review and location. We were disappointed. The gentleman at the front desk who check us in wasn't friendly. Our room was clean, but the toilet seat was broken and our bed was improperly mad up. No refrigerator nor a safe in the room. I visited this hotel as part of a group activity. I had hoped to be in-and-out, picking up some materials, but the materials weren't ready (not the Sheraton's fault). While there (3-6PM), I saw groups of people (hundreds) sitting on the floor all over, waiting for their rooms. 'rooms not released by housekeeping yet' was the answer whenever someone inquired. Then people would wander to the WaWa or Subway, down a couple of blocks, because they couldn't afford the bar food, or there wasn't much r... Read more

I am here for a convention and I have to say that my experience so at this hotel has negatively impacted my enjoyment of the conference. The hallways are so dirty and the same room service tray has been in the hall for 24 hours along with a random glass that has been in the hall for over two days. The beds are so lumpy that when I came back to my room I wasn't even sure housekeeping made the beds. I have stayed here several times for conferences, and, I have to say, for $129 a night, you can't beat it. The hotel is quite large, has its own gift shop, and a huge staff. In fact, the staff is the best part. After three stays, they have always been helpful, including things like advising me on the most economical way to get to the airport. The lobby and bar/breakfast areas are nice and bright and modern looking. Upstairs for the rooms is a different story with gloomy corridors, stained carpets and tired furnishings. My recent experience at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown was very bad. As a frequent business traveler, I see many different properties in many different locations. This hotel ranks as one of the worse I have been in. Here are a list of issues I experienced. 1) The parking garage is a mess. Asked to be moved and tried 3 rooms on the "renovated" floors and one room smelled moldy/woodsy and there was trash on the floor, the next room's bathroom had another, different, bad odor; and, the last room was wonderful, except the AC unit in the wall was noisy and... I am a rewards member of the SPG group, and have stayed at many Sheraton hotels for business travel. I would say that my experiences for the most part have always been good. Unfortunately, this one was not. I was in town for a large pharmaceutical industry event in June 2016. The hotel has a large lobby that is very nice and roomy and has an easily accessible bar. The beds and pillows were comfortable , and it was mostly clean. View wasnt great. The shower walls weren't washed down, and I found someone's socks under the bed, so housekeeping needs to up their game, and room service food wasn't good at all, especially for the price. But the staff was awesome, friendly and a waitress named Kate was wonderful, the buffet at breakfast was amazing. I would stay again for sure.

I was looking forward to our 1 night stay at the Sheraton Downtown Philadelphia. The check in process was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The hotel was within walking distance to key tourist attractions. Cons: The parking deck elevators were hot and stuffy. I was disappointed in the condition of the room. The carpet was stained, dirty and bulging up in many areas. It appeared that housekeeping hadn't been in room recently due to the la... Read more

I stayed for 3 nights recently while attending a convention. I didn't use any of the hotel amenities because I was out at the conference all day. However, check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly. I made my way to my 8th floor room and was hit with a foul musty smell as I entered the room. There was a huge wet spot on the floor under the wall AC unit, so I promptly left and went back to the front desk to request another room. My next room on the 21st floor was nice. There were only a... Read more

The hotel has a nice loby. The staff is amazing, I was extremely sick during my stay and the staff was very helpful and so kind. Danielle at the restaurant really went above and beyond as she saw I was not well, she started asking me what I had, she brought me a bunch of stuff (salt, lemon, tea, honey, etc.) to help smooth my throat. The rooms really need to be refreshed, it's as if they gave up because they will be renovating. I would not go back until they complete the renovations as stains on... Read more

The location was perfect for us. Rented 3 rooms. Walking distance to where we needed to be. The view from the 19th and 20th floors was great with a nice large window and nice window coverings. Check in was smooth. Quick breakfast at the in-lobby Starbucks was good. About $40 for 24 hour parking under the hotel. Back to the rooms. Carpet was coming up in areas and things could use a general update but overall very good. Remember, "mid-range" for Philly is pretty expensive.

Sheraton on 17th Street CHECK IN: Speedy check in is an alien concept here. People were sighing and rolling their eyes as they waited to check in with only one active staffer, and another one of who seemed to be busy on the phone discussing some matter with someone not there so the line down to a 15 minute wait to check in. No back up was called, such as you might expect at a supermarket. when the line gets too long and they employ extra help to get customers checked out quickly. Sheraton could... Read more

I rarely leave feedback on places, but I would be remiss if I didn't after our horrible stay at your hotel this past week. I have thought long and hard about what to write and how to be fair about it. Firstly, we visit Philadelphia quite often as we are HUGE Phillies and Flyers fans. We have stayed at the Airport Sheraton before with no problems, but have never stayed at your hotel before and never will again. We were in town for the Juvenile Arthritis Conference. First of all our concierge, Mary Mastrobuoni was wonderful. She was so helpful and would do anything for you! She was the highlight. The room itself was nice, except it did not have a refrigerator. There were nice views out the windows. The bar, had horrible service from the waitresses. It took 15 min after asking for the check to get it and then we actually had to go retrieve the waitress to pay our bill. I did like the fitness center.

I was here for a conference and very disappointed in the hotel. The conference rooms were very warm. The lobby bar was lacking. The waitress was rude and the service was extremely slow. I left the table and went to the bar to directly order a drink and that was not any faster. They definitely need to step up their game to compete with other hotels in the area. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It seemed like nothing worked as well. In the rooms the AC lacked and in the business c... Read more

I was here on business for a conference and I cannot believe how tremendously horrible my experience was. First of all, the air conditioning situation is downright unacceptable. It was hot literally everywhere in the hotel, save for my room, thank goodness. In the exhibit hall, there were people about to pass out from the heat and had to go elsewhere and I was also feeling lightheaded. What was the most unacceptable is that we had programming in the meeting room off of the lobby that did n... Read more

I am done with the Sheraton chain. On the course of my vacation I stayed in two Sheraton hotels and both of them are reminiscent of the Ramada chain. I first stayed at a Sheraton in Chicago and loved it. Same with Kansas City. But this one was a huge disappointment. The lobby has the charm of a waiting room in a train station and when I checked in the woman was less than thrilled to have to help me. Not even a "Welcome to Philadelphia." It felt quite clinical. Stayed at the Sheraton while attending a conference in Philly and was generally pleased. It's a typical Sheraton ... big, relatively big rooms, aging a bit (some dings in the furniture, rather basic bathrooms, a ring or two missing on the shower curtain), professional staff. One thing that I notice is that even though there was a huge music festival going on with a lot of young fans around, the rooms were admirably quiet.

I found the service of Mary Mastrobuoni and her male colleague at the Concierge desk extremely helpful, courteous, and generous, for the many different kinds of errands and services that I needed, during my four days stay at the Shareton. From helping me to solve electricity adapters issues, to a buying duffel bag, to various categories of restaurants, etc. etc.

I stayed here for 2 nights mid week. Check in was quick and easy, staff very pleasant. Room was ok, tired decor and dusty around edges. I turned on air con which was a mistake, it filled the room with an awful smell. I couldn't get through to guest services via the phone in room so ended up going back to reception. Very average hotel. I felt that the room was clean but as a gold SPG member I received a complimentary upgrade to a corner room high up. The shower had hair from the previous person and the carpet was literally folded up in the center of the room to the point that it would trip you. I would certainly look for another hotel if the pricing was similar but I received a very inexpensive deal for this room

This was not a good experience. We reserved club level room, 25th floor, with a great view. The deadbolt lock did not work. The floor lamp switch did not work, you either plugged it in the wall outlet, or did without. The handle to the bathroom was falling off, so closing the door all the way was not an option. No washcloths, 1/2 roll of toilet paper, the A/C was not working properly, so we kept lowering the temp - at 65, we checked the unit - the filters were so plugged, there was no way ... Read more

I stay at this hotel on an almost weekly basis and the staff has always been great. In particular, I want to say thank you to the concierge Mary Mastrobuoni who has always been more than helpful. I do have one qualm and that's the beer selection at the attached bar named "Local". They actually used to have local beers such as Victory and Yards available, but now AB-InBev has convinced them to carry only their portfolio, so the most local beer you can get at "Local" is from Chicago. Staff at both the restaurants Inside this sheraton were so hospitable. Especially the breakfast area in the morning. Both give such huge portions of food for a great price. I leave full and even take the extra with me. If you are truly polite and patient with these people they will repay the favor with their generous hospitality. I will definitely be coming back to this sheraton. Rooms are clean and everything works in them. We had a beautiful view. ū???

We decided to cut our visit to Harrisburg short by a day, to make it easier to get to the airport in Philadelphia so we chose the Sheraton based on its downtown location and the rate. At the time of writing this review, this hotel seemed to be in extremely poor condition. Carpets are dirty, making you wish you brought slippers. Room does not have a safe. Overall the hotel just looked unclean. It is not an issue with just an individual room. Hallways and even the elevators are dirty.
