We live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and anytime we stay in the city it is always at Hotel Palomar. We have tried other 5 star properties but this is really a cut above the rest. The rooms are always very clean, have nice amenities including the best bathrooms in the city, and have extra perks like the hosted wine hour. On top of it all they frequently run wonderful promotions which make staying at a the hotel a fantastic value. In addition, the location is fantastic and close toe Rittenhouse,... Read more

When I stay at hotels i judge them on two factors the bathrooms and room service. This hotel exceeded on the bathroom but unfortunately failed miserably on the room service. First the good/great: We pre-checked in and left our bags and meet possibly the greatest bellhop ever Art! Ive worked in hotels/hospitality my entire life and he is the epitome of infectious personality. We also had our first interaction with Matt the manager, also extremely great at his job as I observed him with some chall... Read more

THE GOOD Since I have visited different Kimpton hotels in various cities and always had a great experience, I had high expectations upon visiting the Palomar. I found check-in to be friendly and welcoming. Even though it was earlier than the 3:00 p.m. check-in time, the front desk agent, Titus, was able to find a room ready for us, which I was thankful for due to the pouring rain outside. He was friendly and professional and gave me a very favorable initial impression of the hotel. The roo... Read more

Staff are all eager to please and friendly. That vibe is so pervasive that even the guests are friendly. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with very comfortable beds. Bathrooms are large. Climate control is very good. Walking location to most destinations of interest - or easy public transport. WiFi works well. All is clean. Evening hosted wine reception is a nice perk. Morning coffee available in the lobby. This hotel represents excellent value.

Stayed at the Kimpton Palomar in Philadelphia for one night and wished I could have stayed longer. The place is perfectly situated for both business and shopping in the city. Very nice room with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. The hotel serves complimentary wine and cheese every afternoon which is a nice touch. The staff were also super friendly.

I really like Kimpton hotels overall - though some are oddly quirky - and this is SURELY one of them! The location is good, the hallways are bright, and clean... but there are some really odd quirks. I was upgraded (thanks kimpton!) to a small suite because I am an inner circle member. The suite was small to be a suite. The living room was nice - the bedroom was tiny. So small that the door to the mini bar wouldn't open all the way because it hit the bed. The bathroom was really nice- wit... Read more

I stayed for 6 nights in a twin-queen equipped room. The hotel itself prides itself on its original design and service both of which were up to scratch. The hotel's footprint is pretty small so there are not many communal areas if you want to escape your room but due to the very central location you're better off getting outside and to any of the numerous local cafes, bars or restaurants.

Kimpton Palomar was a nice hotel! Very modern, very clean, and in a great location. There was a fire alarm test that took place on the day of check out which was a little annoying but other than that it was a nice stay. We are kimpton rewards members and appreciate the extra perks we get as members when we stay at the hotels. 2 thumbs up!

Exemplary customer service. It started with valet parking. When i checked in my room wasn't ready, so the desk clerk volunteered a $25 meal credit and i had a lovely lunch and did some work while my room was prepped. And the room was worth the wait. Great city view, with a stunning soaking tub and HUGE shower. A comfy place to read is important to me, and this room has a great couch to snuggle up on to read and do research to get ready for the next day. However, the view is so distracti... Read more

We have been a Palomar regular for years 30+ stays. What we loved was getting to know the staff. If it was a special occasion they new from talking to us and they would remember. They always put something in the room that let us know we were more then just a nameless guest. Now there is a new face every time we check in and it's like any other hotel. The cost is higher than other hotels in the area but we never used to mind. The only thing that brings us back is Dan and Dee in the bar!!! D... Read more
