We stayed at Homewood Suites for the night and had a good stay. However, the food was below average as compared to other Homewood Suites we've been to. The hotel itself is very nice, though, and the staff is helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our time. But with all Philadelphia has to offer being in Center City and/or Old City, the hotel is really very far from "the center of the action."

they really do a great job here! Friendly staff, super-clean room, comfortable bed, and a great breakfast. We stayed one Saturday night so couldn't take advantage of the evening social. The valet service is $39 but the staff does a great job and you know your car is safe and secure.

Located on the outskirts of the University of Pennsylvania Campus (41st and Walnut), this hotel is far less expensive then the Inn at Penn and the Sheraton University City and worth your visit. Relative to the other two, the hotel is a quarter mile up Walnut and doesn't boast the restaurant options of the others but that is where the deficiencies end. Every room is a suite (either built or refurbished within the last year) with a mini kitchen that has all of the amenities. The bathroom is nice a... Read more

My grandchildren had a blast. The bed was sooo confortable, and my sleep was great. The bustling of the area was exciting for the children. Mr. Wayne, shuttle driver is very likabke. Kind and we'll mannered. The stay was very much important and the Hilton made the stay very pleasant. I'd like very much to stay again, and allow the children to explore West Philadelphia in the summer time.

If you're travels take you to the University of Penn., this hotel is located in the heart of the University City section of the city and a very short walk to Univ. of Penn. The valet greets you upon arrival, giving it the feel that you're definitely staying at a more upscale hotel and the cleanliness of the hotel is evident from the sidewalk to your room. I will rarely, if ever, say that a Homewood Suites is not a good value when taking a trip. Rooms can often cost $200 or more a night, but the rooms include almost every comfort from home you can imagine, plus the chain offers free breakfast every morning and a free dinner every night Monday-Thursday. Overall, that makes Homewoods such an amazing value, and this one fits that bill tremendously, especially in the heart of a city like Philadelphia, where so many other hotels that don't give you tho... Two rooms plus kitchenette makes this nightly rate highly competitive with single rooms in other name hotels. Toss in the included buffet breakfast and light afternoon meal--this is a great deal. This Homewood Suites is a little off the beaten path unless you are visiting someone at the University--then it is a perfect location. The hotel is kept up well, although the public rooms are a bit spartan. The one problem I had was controlling the room temperature: the hotel's setting was too cold for ... Read more

During my stay the lock on the door broke and despite my three attempts to go down to the main desk, every time my card was reprogrammed it still would not work. Because I stayed on the 11th floor, their elevator is painfully slow to arrive on that floor (one trip I waited 10 minutes just for the elevator). Eventually the front desk sent someone from the building to repair the lock, but even he was unable to fix it and we had to wait for the manager who was off duty to arrive. I appreciated ever... We expected a bit of an upscale hotel for the price we paid -- $269/night for a King Suite. We did not expect to also pay $29 each night for valet parking! (I learned my lesson to be sure to do a bit more homework before I make a reservation.) The first night, the A/C didn't work. However, they did take care of it by moving us to another room and deducting $100 from the first night's bill, which we appreciated. The elevators broke down for a few hours in the morning. We were helping my daughter move to Philly and needed somewhere to stay near Penn. This was a good choice, with a comfortable bedroom and lovely kitchen and sitting room. Good variety for breakfast. Internet was fast and easily accessed. Parking is the one drawback. On street or expensive valet parking only. Suites are convenient for families. Breakfast was a nice perk but that's the extent if the positives. Service was atrocious. Valet was always missing. Smoked in our car! Housekeeping staff just didn't clean out room a couple nights. We had to call to make sure our room was cleaned. Just bad. Wouldn't stay again.

My husband and I had the pleasure to staying at this location just recently. We both found it relaxing, comfortable and just what we were looking for. The location offered much with regard to restaurants, movie theater, supermarket, drug store, etc, all while never needing to move your car. Great location.

All and all it was great. It was clean, warm..a little too warm. We had a great day overall! The hot tub could have been a little hotter. The fitness center was cool, and if you have kids, the movie theater and arcade are a block away!

Great time spent with family and friends I can't wait to come back with my husband and children. I really enjoyed the home feeling it was very relaxing and when it was time to go the children didn't want to leave
