once again great hotel stay. Decided to take a random trip to philly and show my dad all the good eats and sights of the city. Booked a room for my girlfriend and myself, then a room for my parents. We got in a day earlier than my parents and didn't realize we booked a double bed room instead of 1 queen to share. went downstairs and the staff helped the best they could and couldn't find us a room with 1 bed, so we laughed and told them we'd we shoved the beds together and TaDa: me... We booked a room for 3 nights to attend our daughter's graduation ceremonies. The hotel was quite basic, but comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice to suit everyone. The plastic forks and knives were a huge impediment though -- why not use proper silverware? Bathtub had some unsightly stains, and the sink was very slow to drain. Also, there was a fire alarm and guests were asked to evacuate the premises. We had to rush to gather our passports and other documents and then tak... Read more

This was a perfect place for my business trip as I am tired of staying by the airport. I took a cab to downtown and had a blast eating in Chinatown which is 2 blocks from the hotel. Also a new really cool restaurant which is called Brick and Mortar you have to go check out.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. They helped us use Uber for the first time and shared with us local points of interest. The breakfast items had a good variety. Even with a large group of high school students creating havoc in the breakfast area, the staff was polite and quick to refill containers and clean up any messes made by the children. I definitely plan on staying there again.

We enjoyed our stay at this Hampton. They have a wonderful breakfast, clean rooms and this hotel was centrally located within walking distance to Reading Terminal, Chinatown and the Historical district. Drawbacks were the small pool which is standard at the Hamptons and some safety concerns in the neighborhood. I felt comfortable walking around during the day but would not do so at night.

I'd never stayed at this particular hotel, although the chain itself has a good reputation. The good things: the staff was uniformly friendly and helpful; the room was beautifully laid out and tastefully outfitted, with a rather large bathroom; the breakfast selection (which came with the room) was excellent. My reservations were about the sorts of niggling things that might matter less for other people, so I'm citing them: --The 24/7 coffee service in the lobby is a wonderful perk (so to spe... Read more

First, the hotel is GREAT. Clean beds and rooms, good breakfast, staff seems friendly and helpful. Zero complaints. I was here for conference at the Mariott, so I had to walk "under" the Penn Conference Ctr every day. It is full of sleeping and urinating homeless people. It's very smelly. None of them talked to me, or asked for money, it just seemed so awkward. And that is the only reason I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel is fabulous, and if you're used to seeing these kind of sights,... Read more

Well we got here yesterday and the hospitality I think went out the window. Yesterday check in was a little rocky as so many people were checking at the same time. Today, the staff are being really nice. They were very helpful giving us directions us to a nice pub type grill for dinner tonight. The hotel is comfortable, clean and quiet. There is a lot that you can walk to from this hotel and a lot to see and do. So if you're wanting to tour around this is the perfect location for that.

My room was a bit drab -- nothing wrong with it, but I had stayed at a very new Hampton right before staying here and the difference was noticeable. Perfectly nice little hotel for the price. Great service; nicely done breakfast, very convenient to the convention center. My only concern, (which the hotel has no control over) has to do with the number of homeless in the nearby convention center underpass area. If traveling alone, I would probably choose to stay on the other side of the convention center in the future.

This hotel holds its staff to a high standard, there professionalism and hospitality shine through. All of that means nothing without presentation, and this hotel delivers on that as well. The staff were all very accommodating, allowing us to check in early and check out late. Parking is in a lot down the road and costs $28/day. You have in and out privileges to the lot and parking is valid till 3pm the day you check out. All the must see sites are within a 10 minute Uber ride. The rooms were clean and quiet. I... Read more

Be careful when drinking in the bar at this hotel. To our surprise we were charged $5 for the "rocks" in a whiskey on the rocks drink plus $8.50 for the whiskey. Absolute rip-off. The cost was queried and we were told the hotel sets the prices not the bar.

This hotel to me was just an ordinary hotel. Which, there isn't anything wrong with that. The staff did what they needed to do, but no one was extraordinarily nice, yet we didn't encounter any rude staff. The breakfast was great!! It's been a while since we've had such a good, truly complimentary breakfast. The room was clean and the beds were OK to sleep in. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I think $39 for valet parking a night is absurd!! Especially when you can park for $20 literall... Read more

Nothing but good to say. The ladies in the breakfast room were so kind and friendly to my kids. The front desk was extremely processional and helpful. Comfortable rooms although they had hard and soft pillows , the soft pillows were non-existent . Generally the staff were helpful especially Donte , however a very bad experience at the bar !!! I ordered 2 drinks , you would think , that is not difficult , but the young lady got both drinks wrong , which cost 23$ , then asked for a tip and was very sarcastic when the tip was not forthcoming . I stayed at this hotel for a business conference back in September and I had a good stay. The hotel really seemed to go out of their way to take care of us and the facilities were pretty nice. The rooms are your typical Hampton Inn rooms and are very comfortable. This property is in a really good location to explore the city. It's not too bad of a walk to the Liberty Bell and other parts of the city. If you're looking for a good lunch I would highly recommend walking down the street to the Rea... Read more

Stayed 2 nights while attending a conference across the street at the convention center. Great location for that. Hotel was very typical for Hampton Inn, which is to say fine, but my room was looking worn. I knocked over a bottle of water next to the bed, and grabbed a bath towel to clean it up. It came up absolutely gross. In fairness, I couldn't say that wouldn't happen somewhere else, but regardless that red and black carpet was hiding a lot of dirt. The next morning, the mirrored closet door... Read more

This was the third time I've stayed here, and I'll definitely be back. Rooms were nice, hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Even a 2.30am fire alarm and subsequent evacuation was dealt with calmly and efficiently. My only gripe would be a lack of easily accessible staircases as there were a few instances we had to wait a while for an elevator. Also, the food selection on the bar menu had seemingly shrunk since my last trip which was a bit of a disappointment. But other than that, all was go... Read more

Location is good (3-4 blocks away from city hall and one block away from subway), hotel is well maintained and rooms are ok. In room coffee machine had only decaf however hotel has full breakfast and coffee included on lower level. That being said, hotel wifi is unusable as it crashes constantly. Can't understand how in this day and age budget hotels can't figure how to handle wifi. Also, no hotel parking, you will have to go across the street to an outdoor parking (providing they have room)

Trying to sleep now and it is not happening. Turned on heat and set it to 72 degrees, and fan to auto. It gets to 72 and instead of turning off it blows cold air. It also sounds like a tractor. Maybe its time to get a thermostat and stop using 50 year old window unit.

We regularly stay at Hamptons in whatever state we're visiting and are always pleased with the properties but this has to be the best one we have ever visited! The staff was top notch (even amidst a late night fire alarm during our stay) but the hotel itself is kind of dreary. The room was beige and brown; I did not find it particularly inviting. It does appear to be a remodeled hotel but most places tend to brighten up with a remodel. Location is right next to the Philadelphia Convention Center and walking distance to lots of food so it is convenient. As I said, though, the staff is what really stood out about this place.

Hampton Inn is to standard, as to be expected at all Hampton Inns. Valet parking was limited for multiple large vans if traveling with a group. The hotel is in an area that has a heavy population of homeless people living in the streets. The covered street leading to the convention center had at least 50 homeless people setting up camp as soon as night arrived. No safety issues, though, it feels unsafe when walking the streets at night near the hotel.

Let me start by praising my housekeeper, Jackie, and valet. They were shining lights in an otherwise dim experience. The concierge fell short of expectations. The manager didn't address the situation in a timely or effective manner. The staff at the restaurant, 1301, were not friendly or courteous. Eye rolls (when asking for a spoon since a fork was presented for soup) and curt placement of food and drink does not bode well.
