The hotel is incredibly old and in need of repairs. The door to my room would not close correctly and felt like if someone pushed hard enough on it, it would have just popped open. I did not feel safe with that. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for business travel.

The entrance was full of gum and trash on the drive/loading zone. The lobby was filthy. Needed sweeping, vacuuming, and attention. A service person at the front desk saw me struggling with my luggage and just smirked at me. I always wipe the bathroom floor and check the tub/shower. I was easily disappointed to find a filthy floor and hair in the tub. I wiped up the floor twice with washcloths. Disgusting. Smelled of urine all around the toilet. Two of the bath towels had obviously been used and ... Read more

Yes the hotel is in teh midst of a renovation. However, our room (#707) was completed. We stayed Thursday and Friday night & granted, were not in the hotel during the day, but heard no construction noise. The renovated room (a King) was very nice and efficient. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, new decor and flat screen quite nice (love the wallpaper on the feature wall) and the comfortable chair & a half opens into a pull-out sleeper. Plenty of room and nicely appointed. Keurig & ... Read more

The hotel is under massive renovation. I don't know if I would have booked a room there had I know this. However, my room itself seemed like it had just been remodeled. It was quite nice. Actually, I wondered if I was the first person to stay in the room since it had been redone. It was comfortable and mostly clean. Perhaps understandably, the hotel overall just didn't seem to "have it together". The front desk staff wasn't rude, but aloof. They never told me that a full breakfast was provide... Read more

They are trying. I've been there 3 times (come each year for a conference) before and during renovation. Logistically it's a nightmare. They book conferences and then don't have the power to see it through. For example, our conference is pretty small 100-125 ppl and we can never seem to get a lunch break right. We'll always have to run across the street to Fridays, Joe's Crab Shack, Chipotle or Starbucks to get food because the restaurant can't handle more than 10 persons at a time. That is unde... Paid top $$. Hotel under construction (not on the website). Loud, noisy and the only bathroom outlet didn't work. Temporary entrance was not monitored by hotel staff, very unsafe. Hotel staff not friendly or helpful. Top it all off it was listed as approx. 3 miles from my destination, was closer to 10 miles.

Parts of the building are being renovated. With this I was worried about noise and security....no need to! the rooms were simply amazing! My family and I were quite pleased with the experience. We would stay here again without hesitation!

When visiting philadelphia, I often select the CP because there is ample free parking and I like the proximity to target, Joe's Crab Shack, and Friday's. However, the hotel is under massive renovation right now. As such, the back entrance is shady, you have to walk down a long hallway, and guests are not pleased with it -- which leads to frustration at the check-in desk. Some of the rooms have been renovated but they actually feel smaller than before. Also, I was pretty upset that the keurig was... Read more

I had to request them there were no ice machines you got to go to the restaurant to get ice.The pool was closed but the restaurant was open. There is a whole TD Bank,Target and... Read more

This photo and the one on the website are NOT TRUE. It is a shambles. The rooms are nice but you're in the middle of a vast construction project, the pool is 'closed for renovation' and the catering doe snot exist. We were offered free breakfast as compensation for a check-in delay, and free was too much to pay. It was a total shambles. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE UNTIL THE CONSTRUCTION IS DONE.

We did not realize this hotel was under complete renovation construction from the IHG reservation site-until we got there. The back door was the entry area-and was dark and eerie when we arrived at 10pm on Friday night. Got into our room which appeared nice and turned the AC down and took our showers which the bathroom is very nice. Took till 2am for the room to cool down. I spent 9 days at the Crown Plaza at 4010 City Ave in Philadelphia and DO NOT recommend to anyone...At present the whole bottom floor is under construction, the elevators were not working so I walked 8 flights of stairs, no access to ice machines or vending, breakfast was $15.00, no hot tub, pool or a tub in my room... No amenities to speak of and the front desk personnel were not very accommodating! Parking was limited and there weren't any close stores for shopping!

Inspite of the long construction, service at the hotel is great. Fast check in,clean comfortable rooms and bed.For me the Doorman is the feather in the hotel's cap.He remembers repeat guest and goes out of his way to make sure guest needs are met without pressure or expectation of tip which in my opinion anyone with tact or class would neglect to tip for service rendered, especially great service. I'll certainly continue staying at the Crowne Plaza . Scott Blake Berkeley CA.

We stayed at this hotel in June 2016 while the hotel was being renovated. They tried hard not to cause any hardship on the guest. I know the hotel will be beautiful once it's completed. Thanks to the night engineer and management trainee for Always being there for us.

Why you would try to keep a hotel open while the entire main level is gutted is beyond me. And they are short-staffed, to boot. We stayed there because of an event - i.e., we didn't really feel we had a choice - and truly regretted it. The room floors that have been renovated are nice except for some finishing touches like telephones that didn't work. But walking through an active construction zone with young children whenever we arrived to or left the hotel was not pleasant. And the make-shift ... Read more

The entire lobby of this hotel was under construction. I mean all of it. So disappointing. Also asked for a late check out and the manager just flat out said "no". There was no discussion or anything. She couldn't have cared less. I travel a lot and have never had such disrespect especially given the state of this place.

I am starting to see a trend with Crowne Plaza. This is the 3rd one in 3 different cities I have stayed at in the past year or 2 and they have all been run down. They were probably nice in their hayday, but they have really not maintained or upgraded them. That said, the service was good. It's right next to the mall and a lot of restaurants and the breakfast buffet was very good. WIFI worked fine. They should not really advertise a gym. On the morning I was set to check out of the hotel, the person who I was driving with locked his keys in the trunk of his car, leaving us stranded. Stayed here with my family for about a week. Overall excellent stay. Some teething problems in room were addressed by pleasant staff. My biggest issue is that the hotel advertises that it has a swimming pool. It turned out that the pool was under renovation for months. However, when I complained about this to the Manager (Sebora I believer her name was), she made it up to my family in a big way. Great location right off the highway. 10 - 20 mins from downtown Philly. I will stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for three weeks, and was there while it transitioned from the Crowne Plaza to the Courtyard Marriott. The hotel is going through renovations, so it looks nice from the lobby and the outside. The rooms also look decent. However, it had a huge rat-infestation problem. We knew the name had just changed the week before but I still had 2 people out in their parking lot ask me if this was the Crowne Plaza. Double beds made for an interesting sleep. The updated bathroom was interesting. Sliding bathroom door that had a huge gap at the bottom (you could see whomever was in the shower), new sinks and the taps that you had to barely turn on as if you turned them on too much the water sprayed all over the place. I had no idea the hotel changed names but I was pleasantly surprised because I viewed it as an upgrade. The Courtyard Marriott was clean, modern and comfortable and the staff were friendly. The check in process was a little slow but it was 4pm on a Saturday. The room (standard king) was nice and the bed was comfy. Parking seemed tight because they seem to share a lot with a bank and a major chain restaurant. I would recommend it!

I booked one night at the Crowne Plaza because of its close proximity to the Mann Center. I'm from out of town and was going to a concert. I also selected the Crowne Plaza because of their advertised spa tub and pool. They do not have a spa tub, and their pool wasn't open.
