I was here for a convention so I unfortunately had little time for hotel amenities. This is an older, very large hotel with a restaurant, lounge, small shop for sandwiches, a pool, etc. the sandwich shop was staffed by one person and a bit slow. I didn't try the restaurant. TV's are older and could be upgraded to newer hi def sets. No issues with the room or staff. As with other hotels in the area rooms are pricey.

I was worried when coming here a few days ago, because of some very bad reviews. I'm usually part of the contented silent majority, so I felt obliged to speak out in a positive way. We were here for a music festival called RoSfest in the Majestic Theatre in Gettysburg. The rooms in the Aspire hotel were in good condition and kept clean neat and tidy on a daily basis. The staff at the desk were attentive and caring and responded quickly to our needs. Overall it was a great stay and I would say wh... Read more

As it turns out, yes. He lived close by. This hotel was a reflection of him at one time - it has aged and is on the outskirts of town but still clean and a pleasant stay. If you are staying for a convention, the convention place is just a walk away, is large, and is flexible in terms of usage. The folks running the hotel are quite pleasant as are the marvelous cleaning folks.

Conference center is great with ton's of space for your meeting needs, but the Eisenhower is very dated and needs an update. The Aspire, which is connected to the Eisenhower, is in much better shape. The pool area is okay but don't get a room facing the pool as it can be noisy.

The room was dirty and had to be vacuumed. It needs a facelift. The breakfast, which was supposed to be open at 7am, wasn't ready at 7:30. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. If was dark and depressing.

So, I have been taking my daughters for weekend trips for 18 years. We have multiple pets and don't like to be away long, so weekends suit us. My daughters are 13 and 18, and in all of these 18 years, I have never complained about a hotel. I've been a single mom, so it was best western and at other times it was travel lodge, but you get what you pay for and i have never felt the need to complain. This weekend at the Eisenhower was to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday. Her best friend rec... Read more

This hotel and conference center is conveniently located near central Gettysburg. There is even a shuttle that takes you from the hotel to all the major Gettysburg attractions for less than $1 per person, per trip. But what makes this hotel special is the staff. From the general manager, Joe Spadolini to the head maintenance technician Ed Bridgett, the staff goes out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Joe always greeted me with a smile and offered suggestions on how to... Read more

The people are nice but the venue itself is horrible. Went last October for a conference and was not and I mean not impressed. It is away from Gettysburg and not near town. I think at one time time, it was nice but it desperately needs renovation.

I read the bad reviews prior to staying here however I was with a very large group and this was the host hotel. First off our room would not cool down. They had to change the air filter then it started to cool. Stains on the floor, no mini fridge, no microwave, old style tube tv, Stains on the bedsheets, Wallpaper coming off and a horrible smell in most all the rooms. Pool area was an extreme heatwave most likely from the ac units in the rooms. Staff was ok and some of them were nice. The hallwa... Read more

Worst place I have ever stayed. Not one person is wrong, everything that is said is true. We had a very large group so there was no other choice, but will not stay here again. Staff is friendly. Breakfast was good, but need to cook bacon more.

We stayed in the middle of June 2016. Had a room on the 2nd floor (267). AC worked great, clean but a little musty smelling. Very nice indoor pool area, nice bar and reataurant, free morning breakfast was good.

It's an older hotel, but perfect for what we needed. We just needed a place to rest at night and then be on our merry way for adventures during the day. Didn't deal a lot with the staff, but they were friendly during check in. Bed sheets could use a make over. It wasn't dirty, but they are a little worn out.

Y'all need weighted shower curtains. They made me so angry flyin back on me. No wonder you have to have the sign that says 'please keep shower curtains inside tub'. Free wifi is advertised, but we didn't get it at all in the room we stayed in.

I honestly can't believe they charge over $100/night for the Eisenhower Hotel in Gettysburg. It's very run down and outdated. We came for an event and this was the host hotel, but if I'd have known the condition, I would have paid the same price for a nicer place near by. The pros are the indoor pool and market since it's a bit away from shopping areas. The room looked like it was last updated in the 80s. It was at least fairly clean if you overlook the needed repairs.

Major mold and mildew issues in the first floor rooms and hallways. Lack of cleanliness throughout. All hallways are dimly lit, linens (sheets/towels) are soiled like they were run through a regular washer and dryer. AC units impacted with dirt and dust. Management doesn't care. Just the tip of the iceberg.

Despite a lot of reviews my room was nice and bright. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. The coffee was very good. Only problem I left my phone charger in my room. I called as soon as I got home and the girl said she would have house keeping call me but they never did.

staff was not overly friendly...checked you in, didn't even say enjoy your stay, or ask how the room was...one girl working as we checked out...poor thing trying to cover the phones (for 2 hotels), & checking people in & out both at the same time...room was clean, & comfy, however in need of updates. The price was double what we paid in a hotel that was much nicer 2 days before that w/ a caring staff...ice is on 2nd floor way away fro our room...

Our family of 5 stopped here as a stopover when driving back north. I was worried when I saw some reviews but we had a pleasant stay. The room was spacious and clean, staff is friendly and the pool was really nice. It also has nice amenities like a sandwich shop and bar, and free breakfast. The beds were also very comfortable. Big negative is the place needs a complete facelift, it's stuck in the 80's. The only way it will survive long term is if/when they update all the rooms and areas.

We got such a good price on the room through Hotwire, we expected a bit of a rough stay, and were surprised by a very nice room. They upgraded us to a room in the new 'Aspire' Hotel area, connected with the older Eisenhower hotel. Our room was big and comfy, with microwave and small fridge and big TV. Even breakfast was free! We enjoyed the quiet - we had no clue of other guests until we found the breakfast room (at Richard's Restaurant in the complex) quite crowded. We were very happy with our ... Read more

Floors were dirty. Swimming pool was in another hotel that was attached. The lights were out in the deserted area where the pool was located. The kids thought it was fun to swim in near darkness. I found a lights witch and turned on lights. The housekeeper came by and told us to turn off the lights when we left. The elevator stopped on us several times and we had to punch buttons until it moved again. Now for a funny part. The breakfast was a long track on dirty floors to a "restaura... Read more

I could write a book of how BAD this place is~ DO NOT GO HERE! filthy carpets, stains on the carpets, dark corridors, Water problems.... Unless you like taking a shower in ankle deep water and have black 'stuff' come up through the drain! Don't waste your money. Manager refuses to make things right even after offering full refund. I could go on-and-on. The place needs a total renovation and cleaning or just closed it for good.

This hotel was one of the worst we have ever stayed at in the U.S. As soon as we entered, there was a terrible smell. We were told that they had experienced some water damage due to a storm earlier in the day. Our room was right near the area where the water damage occurred and the smell was very strong. We found out in the morning that there were other rooms further away from the damage area but no one bothered to suggest moving. The room was really awful. It was shabby- the rugs were torn, the... Some say its pricey, but compare it to some of the other hotels and I think you will find that its not so pricey after all. We made the mistake of thinking that we could get a room once we got into Gettysburg. All four of us were on our phones looking for a hotel. Everything was booked. Finally we found 2 rooms at the Eisenhower. We paid $130 a room; we got so screwed. From the moment we walked in you could tell that the hotel has not been touched since the 80s. The breakfast is okay ... but it was not enough to offset the price we paid. The employees were pleasant.

Honestly, I was surprised by the negative reviews about this place. It wasn't the best hotel I've ever stayed in, but it was far from the worst, instead falling right near the middle of the bell curve. Pros: - The room was gigantic: two king-size beds, a sofa, a chair and ottoman, a desk and office chair, a couple nightstands, decent-sized bathroom. Beds were very comfortable. - Heating and air conditioning unit actually worked correctly and was not louder than a locomotive. - convenient locati... Read more

We love Gettysburg and any time, any chance we get to visit we jump on it. This particular time we had tickets to do a haunted ghost walk on a Friday evening and because neither one of like to drive at night in the dark we had decided to stay overnight.
