This hotel is conveniently located off the Penn Turnpike so you can easily get to Hershey's or Gettysburg. It appears to be a remodelled building which they have mostly done a good job with. The bathrooms are still a bit old but clean. Staff were friendly. My only complaint was the constant loud fan noise. It wasn't our bathroom fan nor our heat - something within the building. I'm a lighter sleeper than most so it basically only bothered me.

The location is convenient. The breakfast is typical fare. The shower water pressure was so so. The TV didn't work in the room. However, when I told the front desk attendant, she was very apologetic and without me asking, gave me bonus loyalty points. I appreciated their customer-centric approach to this.

This is the best Holiday Inn I have ever states at. Very clean and the workers are hospitable. Breakfast is free and delicious. The hotel decor is equivalent to a upscale hotel. If you have to go to convention in Carlisle, try to stay here!

Very close to the Carlisle Fairgrounds where I attended a car show / swap meet. Very friendly and professional staff. Rooms very clean, good water pressure in the shower, great breakfast. Pool was also nice. Apparently pet friendly !!!

The hotel was very clean and stylish. The grounds were a little rough, but we had a great room on the first floor. The first floor room made it very convenient for taking the dog for a walk. The breakfast was very good. My husband and I have stayed at two Holiday Inns in three days. We have been pleasantly surprised by the updates that we have seen.

Stayed here Friday 6.10.16 for an overnight on our way through. What an outstanding place. It's a little off the beaten path from I- 81 but we'll worth the hunt. Hotel is extremely clean and well cared for. Pat does an excellent job on the morning breakfast. Food was plentiful and hot. Rooms were more than I expected! Parking lot was amazingly spotless. Again great place to stay. Will definitely revisit.

You know what to expect when you stay at a HIE. They even all smell the same. My experience is usually just fine when I stay at one and I often seek them out in places where I will just be for a couple of days and by myself or with one of my children. The HIE in Carlisle is fine. I have a couple of complaints. The first is the lack of professionalism by the front desk staff. I was checked in by a young woman who offered very little in the way of friendliness/helpfulness. Maybe it had been a lo... Read more

Check in and check out were pleasant and seamless. We had a room on the 2nd floor across from the elevator and heard nothing. The staff in the breakfast area couldn't have been nicer. Both days they checked to see if everything was ok and if there was anything we needed. We will stay there again.

I thought the Hotel was very good, particularly considering the price vs other Holiday Inn Express' we stayed at on our week long touring of Bedford, VA, Gettysburg, PA and West Point NY. The only thing I did not care for was the overall dim lighting in the room, but especially in the bathroom. It was simply not very light there. Otherwise, I thought it was great. It was probably the best breakfast of any of the other places we stayed. I would recommend it.

We spent one night here after a long day of driving. We usually stay at the Hampton Inn when passing through Carlisle. But they were full so we stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It was nice as and perhaps nicer than the Hampton Inn. We'll stay here the next time we are in Carlisle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommend a local non-chain restaurant for dinner and was great. The hotel decor is much more modern or hip compared to the Hampton Inn. Our two queen bed room was nice a... Read more

stayed overnight, kick butt AC unit, was very hot out and the AC was great in room, very comfiie beds and pillows. Gas station/ convenience store and a restaurant across street. Good enough where you don't need to get in car again and travel to eat with a one night stay.

Hotel looks very modern, breakfast was excellent with a great variety. Pool had a nice warm temperature because they pump warm water in to the pool periodically. Hot tub was not too much warmer than pool, but still satisfying! Room was very spacious and bathroom was nice as well. Housekeeping staff was also very friendly! For the price of $125 this was a great deal! Highly Recommend!

On the surface, this hotel looks good but it's not. The first room we were given stunk and the air conditioner was pitiful! We were moved and though the AC worked, it smelled so bad we had to ask for air freshener. We would have left but it was late and the only room available in the area.

This was a first experience in a Holiday Inn Express and I must say it exceeded my expectations. This is a newer property and the staff was very, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious - and the best was comfortable. Breakfast is included, and while not gourmet, there were a lot of options. The conference room, however, could use an update.

Spent one night, beds were comfortable, room was clean, bathroom was clean, good water pressure. Fan did not work in bathroom, some nicks on bathroom door that needed repainted. Carpeting looked old. But overall very nice . Lobby was nice and staff was friendly . Breakfast room, very nice, clean, well stocked, good variety of foods, hot coffee. Microwave to reheat things would be nice.

The front desk and breakfast host make this hotel. I was in town for a car show, this hotel is about 2 yrs old. It is a welcomed addition to the area, quality clean and safe. This HI is very close to the Carlisle Events grounds.Easy on and off of 81 and the PA Tpk.

Got charged $209 per night when the normal rate is $141. I realize that there was an event that weekend but come on $68 more per night. That is before the taxes and fees. The hotel is not even that nice with mold in the shower and the plaster flaking off the wall in the bathroom. I won't make that mistake again and will not stay there again.

This hotel is located right against a highway so any rooms on the backside are in hearing distance and sight of the highway. If you are sensitive to noise or light I would ask to stay on the front of the hotel aka the side facing the parking lot. I was first assigned a room on the second floor. I walked in and immediately heard the highway. to be fair this was the middle of the day and no AC unit was running. I opened the window and I saw a couple of cones and some highway workers and heard too ... Read more

Having driven a long way along the highway, I decided to turn off and find a place for the night. A good choice. I just had to wait a short while as the room I was given was still being cleaned. The room was very nice and clean. A really comfortable bed. In the morning I found the bill for the hotel just under the door, telling me that as I had already paid, I could take advantage of 'Rapid Check-Out'. So following a great breakfast, all I had to do was to drop the key off at the desk, and I was... Read more

If you are looking for a fresh and clean roomy room that still smells new, convenient and roomy lobby, helpful attentive staff, comfortable beds with luxurious linens this might be your place. Breakfast was included and was better quality than many. Not only did they have scrambled eggs they had cheese eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, in addition to cereal, fruit, juices, coffee....pretty good way to start the day.

Spent 2 nights there this week. No complaints about the cleanliness or comfort of the room. However I was on the ground floor and the room was like a cave! High ceilings, few lights, and the overhead lights did a poor job of lighting the room. The room faced the parking lot so I didn't open the shades. Depressing. I'd stay again, but not on the ground floor (And I hope they didn't rehire the person who did the decor for the place.... Bizarre!)

The room was nice but the chair had crumbs on it there was dirt in the tub. The pool was nice it was just the right temperature. The staff could use some help on politeness to the guest. Went to checkcheck in the lady wasnt frendly didnt ask if i needed anything or give me info about the place,or the town. The breakfast lady wasn't frendly at all didnt say hi or anything just walked in front of you with out saying excuse me. The 2 people at the desk that was when i was checking out didnt ask if... Although the staff was very friendly and attentive this did not make up for the lack of amenities in this hotel. The room itself, on the third floor, was very noisy....could hear the clients next door each morning when they took their 5:00 a.m. shower. The majority of the Holiday Inn Express that I have stayed at offer an evening reception ... none here nor any cookies or snacks offered. To obtain ice I had to take the elevator from the third floor to the first floor, meander around the hallway... Read more

Good hotel while travelling, stayed for one night. As the Interstate is very close by, it can be noisy if you're a light sleeper. Wasn't a problem for us as we probably were exhausted from the activities earlier in the day. Breakfast was good.

This is a newer property so it is well maintained and clean. The staff was quite friendly. The pool felt warm to my hand although I did not use it. The "breakfast lady" was accommodating. They had omelets and there were no more in the container. The staff made some more and then came and told me they were ready. She later came and asked me how it tasted.

This Holiday Inn is a nicely appointed hotel with clean rooms and nice but limited facilities. There is no restaurant - only the breakfast bar in the morning. The decor is pretty modern and there is an obvious business user vibe as it is right across the street from Ahold's head office. Unfortunately, it is right beside the turnpike and very noisy in the rooms. The sound in the hallways was also quite loud. From a location perspective, there is very little in the way of food nearby. There is a... Read more

New hotel. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Our room (booked the day previously) was very close to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. However the traffic noise was not a problem and we slept well. We loved the indoor pool. The free buffet breakfast had a very good selection to choose from including cereal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, muffins and breads. The hotel was very well maintained and our room was very clean and comfortable. The $25.00 pet fee was reasonable. Great stay. Highly r... Read more

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Acknowledged our IHG spire status and upgraded us to a very comfortable suite. The lady who takes care of breakfast was great, she proactively went around to tables and asked guests if they needed anything. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Travelling for business you often have to book rooms at the last minute. This one I booked from the parking lot of the hotel. We walked in moments later and were greeted nicely. I wish I remembered the name of the person behind the counter because I always like to recognize great customer service. However, check-in went very well and we were off to our rooms. I had a suite which was spacious and nicely appointed. It did have a fridge and microwave. While it was close to the elevator I had... Read more
