We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a concert which actually was moved down the street but was in walking distance. The old steel mill was cool. Happy, we left our car parked for our 3 day stay. Enjoyed the casino and restaurants and shopping all in one place. Would definitely go again!

The hotel is under renovation and they are doing a great job. Our room had new carpet, fresh paint, and new tile. The event center is top notch. We saw the Rides and the sound system is great. The shopping is great for women and not so good for men. Our only complaint is the non stop flow of zombie like bus people that just hang out in the casino and food court. They sit at the machines and read or sleep.

First time there.Very clean and huge considering it's located in an old steel factory! Large smoking section.and circulating waitresss galore.ashtrays cleaned often.great food at the Carnegie deli.didn't lose much and it took a long time to do just that.but many people were winning. Will go back soon.

The art work and ambiance of a steel mill and homage to the working man are very cool. Real historic friezes and 30s era art are on display. The casino itself is small and a little underwhelming, but we are not gamblers any way. Nice choice of Emeril restaurants for a Friday night bite at a reasonable price. You can even take a walking tour of the steel mill boneyard, a remnant of the rust belt. It's been a fun diversion...

After many casino hotel experiences, we were pleasantly surprised with our stay. Check-in was easy, room was spacious and clean and most important...didn't even need to use our white noise machine! While hotel was pretty full, halls were quiet and peaceful. We were here for our anniversary as well as a concert and dinner...all amazing. And we're picky. This was three for three! Looking forward to going back! PS - free breakfast was lovely with super friendly staff!

This place is great, it has an outlet mall, casino and food court so it is one stop shop. They even have kids arcade if you are traveling with children. Rooms are nice and clean, and it is attached to the Casino and the outlet mall. It is highly recommended, we stayed for 4 nights and we are going back again next week.

This was a wonderful surprise visit. We went for the casino, which was great fun, however, we also found an indoor pool, a gym, and a kids game room. There were also many outlet shops for various types of shopping sprees. We stayed overnight and were impressed with the quality of the room. It was extremely clean and well designed. There were many types of restaurants, some had a few gluten free meals. This continues to be an issue for people like me with celiac disease. Hopefully, more rest... Read more

Wonderful casino for athletes. You have to head fake and spin like a football player running with the ball to avoid the Asian defenders. Like an aerobics class you have to twist and turn while in the bathrooms to avoid the homeless riff raff trying to tackle you. It is like a maze and requires an athletic temperament to navigate. The baccarat table areas are a challenge as the Asians are notorious smokers who puff at you as you squirt by in your athletic garb. But do not be deterred it gets b... Read more

This is a large casino with a great selection of gaming options. Better than Mohegan and Mt. Airy in the Pocono's in my opinion. There are many great food choices but seating availability and pricing make it less than desirable for us. The food court offers lots of choices but be prepared to pay. Their players rewards are what keep us coming back. They are always considerably higher than the other casinos in the area. Sands is a great casino to go to. They have plenty of machines, tables, etc.. The drink people walk around often and the drinks are good quality. The bathrooms are always clean. The casino leads to a mall and food court which is convenient. My only complaint is they do not give wristbands or stamps to people who look under 30, so you get stopped quite a few times by security to show your ID even once you're inside the casino. Also, be sure to dress warm - its always cold in there!

On this one night bars with live music. No shows in the event center, and outlets stores closed by 9P (and some earlier). Not big gamblers so felt a little bored and asleep by 10:30PM. Don't get me wrong, i "have" gambled in the past, but I digress. Still, there were those Chinese patrons who were not hotel guests that tried to enter the breakfast. This has been an ongoing problem. These individuals feel they are entitled. Thankfully, Sands staff chas... Read more

Not a fan of casinos but this hotel venue for a recent business meeting was a hit. Guest rooms are very nice, clean, and quiet. Meeting room was conveniently located and conducive to productive business. Definitely will revisit this location.

We spent the weekend of September 9th at the Sands. The hotel has been recently renovated and was very nice. We have stayed here since it open and usually have a very nice experience there. A few drawbacks are that it is very expensive to stay on a Saturday night (almost double from Friday night), the slots could be cleaner and the casino could be a lot less smoky. It is hard to spend too much time in the casino if you have a problem with smoke. People walk all over smoking so it is hard to... Read more

We went to a concert and a stayed over on a weeknight. Concert was great. Room wasn't so great. For $320 I was very disappointed. We booked over a month in advance and got a room with: no view (pictured) and constant buzz from the ventilation units over side the window. Won't be staying here again.

I recently stayed here overnight for a business meeting. Check-in was very quick with a friendly welcome. I found the hotel and the room in particular to be very clean and loved the technology used in the rooms to save electricity. As a runner, I thought it was very cool to run outside along the old historic Bethlehem Steel Plant and then into town--very interesting route without many cars. The casino was good with some decent bars inside. We did eat at the steakhouse which was very pricy, ... Read more

This is my 2nd review for the Sands PA. Now that I've been going for 5 months with 4 overnight stays I can be a bit more precise as to my overall opinion. And unfortunately I'm dropping a Star. Within 4 visits I attained a Preferred Status membership. My boyfriend was still at the starting level when he was approached on the gaming floor by a host who introduced himself. I thought this was odd as I am a more exorbitant player than he. Just this last week I found out that I did indeed have a hos... Read more

I hope you like the smell of smoke because thats all you will smell after going to the casino. I am not crazy about the outlets either. They are all very small and no sit down rest area while shopping. The food court is OK I didn't expect good prices for any of the food at the food court. The restaurant prices are very high. I checked all the menus of the sit down restaurants and did not find them reasonable. Our room was very nice but we didn't receive our luggage until 5:00pm from our bus arr... Read more

We have been going to Sands for a while. We are concert goers and foodies and we do play the slots but not in a big way. It seems as the more we go the worse it is getting. There are a group of people there that probably come in from out of town that have absolutely no manners. They are rude, impatient, pushy and for lack of a better word slobs. I have never in my life seen people that spit in trash receptacles. This is the those most disgusting thing I have even encountered and when I complaine... Read more

I travel all over the country and am no strangers to casinos and I do remember what places to avoid. After two visits to the Sands it is my opinion that this is by far the tightest casino I have played at that I can remember...and I am no spring chicken and that means a lot of casinos. Restaurants are good, casino is clean. My eyes did burn from all the smoke. I'm a good sport and certainly don't expect to win every time but, there is no entertainment in watching your money being sucked into a m... Read more

We were in town for a show. The hotel I have zero complaints... parking and check-in were both a breeze. The room was immaculate, light very well (love a nice bright room). However, Sands needs to get with the times and stop the smoking in all public areas. The casino was good and fun, but the smoke ruined it. Disgusting. I frequent AC often and even Vegas, I have never seen anything like the smoke in this place. Gross. The clientele late night also becomes quite rude. We were at a table... Read more

The Sands Casino is a very nice place overall. The hotel rooms are modern and very clean. Parking is good. There are shops in a mall that's connected to the casino. There are numerous eating choices. There's even an event center with lot's of shows such as musicians and comedians. And, of course, there's the gambling. If you gamble, especially on the slots, be sure to get a Sands Card. It tracks your play and you earn points that can be used on food, rooms and special events (such as sho... Read more

Hotel very clean and comfortable. Personnel were always friendly and courteous. Restaurants were good, but a little pricey. Disappointed in the extremely limited variety in the free breakfast. Casino nice, typical of many others we have visited. Didn't see any issues with obnoxious patrons in the casino. Casino no more smokey than many others. Casino was very busy, but enjoyable, except for losing our money. Had a fun time.

We selected Sands because it's a super convenient place to stay for Runner's World race festival weekend - only a half-mile walking distance to all key locations, and also just across the Minsi Trail Bridge from some interesting restaurants and some lovely old homes. The room was comfortable once it warmed up - it was on hear saver mode and 68 when we arrived. The heat fan was somewhat noise and distracting. The pillows - really important to me - were sadly no better than average - not the lush ... Read more

We booked a room for one night so my SO could check out the area around Allentown. The room was very nice. The bed was GREAT. The walls were a little thin, so we heard the partying from the adjoining room. My real disappointment came the next morning when we went down for our complimentary continental breakfast. Due to health reasons, I need to limit the amount of carbs I consume daily. Breakfast offered cook-your-own pancakes, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt with granola, and bagels. I as... Read more

Well as the title suggests I did not go on this trip my wife did. She said the hotel and room were very nice and the free continental breakfast was also very good. Her and her friends were not overly impressed by the casino. She said they weren't sure how to play most of the slots. I said you should have asked someone for help but she said she didn't feel comfortable or something. Also she said the club was almost empty on a Friday night and maybe they should have gone on Saturday. They also che... Read more

We stayed for one night and had a nice room. The casino was slow and there were far less of the wandering bus people than normal. The band in Molten was good. The casino temp was very warm, perhaps due to catering to the bus people who wear coats in the summertime.

When we arrived at check-in we were told there were no more non smoking rooms (which we had booked) and we could only have smoking rooms. The girl at the desk checked with a manager and told us because we booked at Expedia they could not do anything - even though ironically the gentlemen who checked in at the same time and booked directly at the hotel was told the same thing. They did give the option to cancel but we were attending a conference the following day. The smoking rooms were not ba... Read more

What a sad place. Really bad layout (you have to walk through a Mall to get from the hotel to the casino), lousy restaurants and bars, nothing even remotely interesting. Even Carnegie Deli was crappie. In the middle of NOWHERE, but at least it's close to the highway for a quick escape. I have to say, the rooms are nice. Not worth what they charge for them, but they are modern and clean, if boring and lacking any character. The place was packed on a recent Sunday visit. Even late at night, afte... Read more

I usually come to the Sands because of convenient location. However the casino is mostly full and looks like many guest stay for a few days. Room are very good, easy parking, great staff, good size food court and a few outlet stores. Overall a good location all year round.. even in the bitter cold you can still walk inside the complex. We go here a few times a year and really enjoy it. The restaurants are good and this casino is closer than driving all the way to Atlantic City. I love this place. I do not like the behavior of some of the people that come in on buses. They spit in trash cans and practically take baths in the sinks. I love the casino though too much to give it a really bad rating. It is a fun time.

Have been visiting this location for a number of years. They have really "slim" on their promotions and offers. Machines are really tight. I understand the House always wins but it is discouraging, not even fun anymore. What is with this Machine Tilting BS?! You can actually see and feel the machine hesitate, stop and the lights go off when you get a good spin!! I will probably head out to to PARX casino at Bensalem PA or AC. Not worth the trip anymore,

Be careful when booking your stay here. Depending on the day(s) and/or date(s) of your stay, your room rate can vary as much as $180 per night for the same room. Also, they tend not to be too generous with comps or special discounts even if you plan on gambling at the casino. My wife played their slots for approximately 4-5 hours & was only awarded $5 in credits. I played the table games for about the same time & was only given $6 in credit. We both used our Sands Gaming Card at all times. Rooms... Read more

This is our 3rd visit, first since last year (which at that time we got a free room from a previous bad review). I booked an executive room for our family, which is about 800 sq ft and offers more room to roam. As I have stayed at Mohegan in CT and usually reserve the King Cove Suite, this was my comparable room choice. The executive room is newer, offers marble galore and comfortable furnishings. Hotel is absolutely beautiful, down to every detail. The staff was extremely friendly and check in was a breeze. Most complicated part was getting to the right parking lot, due to lack of good signage. Got a deluxe King Smoking room. I'm a huge fan of cigars, and thought it would be great to have a cozy room to enjoy a great stick in. Even though it was a smoking floor, it didn't really smell all that bad.
