The brochure said "recently remodeled. The elevator was broke, the front desk was made of plywood (unpainted) and there were very sketchy people hanging around outside and inside the lobby. If it hadn't been the last room in Salem available we would have walked out before checking in. The room it self made our skin crawl. Killed two bugs crawling up the wall. Blood or poop smeared on the wall (didn't get close enough to tell) and what looked to be blood stains that they tried to wash off th... Read more

The price seemed right and yes we knew it was a 1 Star hotel. Our adventure began when we entered at the far end of the hotel stairwell that has no security doors and stairs that have plastic peeling off. Next was going through 2 sets of key cards with neither set working. The front desk let us in with their Key but we had no way of re-entering the room without them letting us in. The room was extremely dated and smelled like it. Toliet was stopped up and wouldn't flush. As we were leaving the... Read more

I have read nearly all of the reviews on this hotel here. And I can confirm that here in the month of September, there are cockroaches, stains on the comforter, circular burn marks on the comforter consistent with meth pipes. Thankfully didn't find any needles though. That's a plus. Bathroom door did have a hole punched into it. And the maids swore at me in Spanish, because I had not left the room by 10:30 so they could clean. Even though check it is 11.

Don't expect much from this hotel. Everything is outdated, the towels are rough and small, the newest and fanciest thing was the office chair. Generally everything was clean, and the bed was comfortable, so if you are just looking for a place to sleep it isn't too bad. Free wifi and breakfast included. Breakfast was oatmeal, coffee, cereal with milk, muffins, bananas.

As of December 2015, this place is infested with cockroaches. I told the front desk to see if a different room minus the roaches might be available and they told me that pretty much every room has roaches and that's why business has been slow. Pretty sure they are not doing anything about the roaches. The comforter on the bed is stained. The place is dirty - old - just plain gross. Spend the extra $20 if you can and go stay at Motel 6 or Super 8 down the street.

As a retired military member, I felt very unsafe here. We were on the floor in the dark while screaming, running, and physical assault by a group of men took place in the hallway and stairwell outside my room with no phone in the room or way to exit, waiting from a call back from the police so I knew it was safe to leave. I to some extent understand "they can't control what goes on in their hotel", but the manager Peter Patel can control the fact that none of your staff asked if we were ok or o... Read more
