Shilo has been the go to hotel for me and my sister whenever we've stayed in Portland for the past few years but after our last visit I doubt we will be back Pros: Great location Free parking 1 amazing staff member who's name I never remember ( she worked Friday evening April 22nd ) Cons: The Wifi was REALLY slow The TV was staticky and had less channels available The bed was really soft 2 staff members were not so friendly Cons that the hotel can't control but that just made things worse ... I booked this room almost solely due to its location. I wanted to be within walking distance of moda centre. If this is your goal, this hotel is very conveniently located and reasonably priced. They also have a morning breakfast which is handy and in walking distance of some fast food restaurants (Wendy's) which is nice to get a bite to eat and avoid the very high cost concession at moda. The rooms are clean and comfy and surprisingly quiet. I would definitely book here again.

The location of this hotel in a couple of blocks from the Moda Center and near Lloyds Place Mall. There are fast food restaurants nearby. That is the good point. The bad points are about everything else. VERY old, looks like the last update was in 1975. Old clunky furnishings, old carpeting with cigarette burns, Not really all that clean and mildew in the bathroom. Staff is indifferent at best. Breakfast was bagels with jam or oatmeal (had to be eaten with forks as they dont provide spoons). Ove... Read more

The front desk lady with the nice nails was helpful and friendly! I originally booked for 2 nights, and booking.com said that I would have to pay 50% if I wanted to cancel my last night. I talked to the front desk lady, and she didn't charge me extra for modifying my stay. So +1 to that! There was free basic breakfast. I stayed in a 2 queen bedroom room. It was really nice. It also had a bench and a one seat couch. Great for adding other people in the room if needed. Free parking onsite. Not rea... Read more

It's a good, basic hotel. My room was clean, quiet, and had what I needed. The location worked really well. The TVs need to be replaced, the wifi needs an upgrade, and the breakfast isn't much, but for the price I have no complaints.

This was a last minute reservation and I was happy with the cost and cleanliness of this motel. It was within walking distance of MAX and several good restaurants. Staff were helpful. I would have given it a rating of five if the breakfast would have been better.

We booked from a third party site, and the hotel booked us for the wrong day. When we got there they blamed it on me, and said there was nothing they could do because I selected the wrong date supposedly. We called the third party site, and they confirmed that I booked it for the right day and called the hotel who said that there was nothing they could do because they were completely booked. The woman never apologized and would not take responsibility for them entering the wrong date. The woman ... Read more

This place is gross. Don't stay here! I got a king size suite. Smells like urine!Drug addicts hanging around the building and inside..breakfast was a joke..clear coffee and muffins . that's it!no pool . no gym . nada! The room is small too. Staff was nice but dresses totally inappropriate. The girl who helped me was wearing a see through white shirt with a black bra and no one looks like an employee. They look like they're just hanging out. Very disappointed!

I am a big fan of the Shilo Inn chain. This hotel is no longer in their chain. When I booked this hotel I didn't know that and I also saw an earning of Four out of Five. As you can see I rated it a One. It's horrible! I wished I had seen the most recent reviews and I would have avoided this hotel. I will start with the positive. I booked Four months in advance so did have a good rate. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The furniture and accessories are very dated but I st... Read more

This is cheaper than the other hotels around the area. We stayed here a night and it was decent for the price we paid. However, as a self-proclaimed hotel snob this would not be the hotel I'll stay at for a long period of time. The staff is nice and helpful. Parking is free and close to cute neighborhoods.

Small room that was too warm even with AC full blast, hence very little sleep. Continental breakfast didn't put out yogurt or toast that I know of. Few spotted bananas and energy bars. Two of us asked front desk to make coffee and after waiting half hour, gave up. Appeared she was busy on her phone

This is a decent place, not fabulous. Pros: 1. good location near Max, pretty easy to get to from airport (about 2 blocks) 2. Nice beds, clean rooms 3. Cheap Cons: 1. Carpet worn out throughout 2. Basic breakfast available, but they kept running out of coffee. 3. TV was pretty old and crummy. Summary: Decent choice if you're not fussy, and don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room. Save your money and get out of your room!
