It's the most inexpensive place near downtown Portland. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the rooms are very nicely decorated, roomy and very comfortable. It's close to mass transit and taxis are not expensive if you don't want to walk. The free, hot breakfast is wonderful - far beyond the usual continental fare. I loved it!

This Residence Inn is quietly tucked away on the southern part of downtown away from the noise, bars, and bums. Still only a few blocks away from the university square and a light rail stops in front of the property. But what set it apart from my few recent stays in Portland is the customer care. I warmly greeted by the receptionist; got another greeting from the manager via a phone call; and another greeting prior to departure. Additionally, when I brought up a minor issue on the exit door... Read more

If you're looking for a good hotel for your business trip in Portland, this could be your choice. It's close to various restaurants at the river. It's close to Interstate 5 which is convenient as well. Breakfast buffet is better than many other American hotels.

A wonderful and clean hotel - quiet and easy walking distance to many restaurants and downtown Portland. Close to local transit. We have stayed here multiple times including overnight stays after the 4th of July fireworks display. The property also provides access to great running trails on both sides of the river front. Easy to get in and out and wonderful staff that caters to all of our needs.

Came to Portland for the Redhead event this weekend. Since I had no burning desire to try to find parking in downtown Portland on a Saturday, I elected to get a hotel nearby. I fully understood that this was not gonna be a cheap solution, And especially not given the distance I was willing to walk (not very far). So, I spent several hours reading and researching area hotels. Finally after doing a lot of comparing, I chose this one. And I am more than happy with the choice. This was one of the... Read more

This is our go-to hotel in downtown Portland, OR, for business and family travel. It has always been super clean, with excellent / friendly staff, dog friendly, and the one-bedroom suites are perfect for our family. The continental breakfast has been, and still is very good - lot's of variety offered. And the hotel went through a great remodel - very nice. You can pretty much walk anywhere downtown or take max. The on-site covered parking garage is very convenient. We will keep staying here... Read more

We absolutely love staying at this hotel. The remodel is beautiful and the staff is always so nice and helpful. Ashley at the front desk gave us great recommendation on things to do while we were in town. We will absolutely be back!

It was really nice and clean. The breakfast buffet was really good. It might be close to the freeway but the windows are pretty thick and I could not hear a thing. Only problem I had was the bedroom TV signal on the higher channels. It pixelated a lot. Nice bed, nice couch and nice kitchen.

I always use the mobile app to check-in and on every occasion my room has been ready in advance of my arrival. Unfortunately that was not the case here. Which was really weird as I didn't arrive till 3.15pm. The first thing the front desk person felt she absolutely needed to point out in an absolute not customer friendly manner was that check-in was after 4pm. She then continue to inform me that she possible had a room available for me but recommended me to wait for the room she had me listed fo... Read more

We stayed a couple days recently and were very impressed with this hotel. As the other reviews say, the breakfast is better than all Residence Inn's I've ever been to and probably some of the Concierge Lounges as well. First off it's huge with the standard eggs, breakfast meat, cereals, pastries/muffins and waffles but then there was so much more. There was yogurt parfaits, fancy accouterments to the oatmeal, whole fruit washed and wrapped in plastic etc. And they had a menu of rotating s... Read more

Nice clean facility, reasonably priced located on the Willamette River and right on the walkway by the river. Walkable to several restaurants along the river front. Reasonably easy to get downtown and to the medical school as well. The trolley system has a stop right by the hotel so that is convenient.

My husband and I are in the process of moving and have stayed with Marriott in the past with great experiences. This one was AMAZING too!! The bed was the most comfortable bed EVER, and the pillows were dreamy!! We went for a walk on the new pedestrian bridge and came back to our cozy room and fell asleep! I wish the AWESOME breakfast would last a little longer in the AM, don't do mornings well, especially when we finally get a morning to sleep in!! But, it was the best breakfast buffet I have... My family and I stayed here for 2 nights and we were extremely impressed with this hotel. The hotel is located close to the river and right by the river walk-close to several restaurants and bars. While you're not right in the heart of downtown Portland, there is a MAX lightrail stop close to the hotel. Upon check in, the staff was extremely helpful. The free breakfast in the morning was great! I would definitely stay here again!

We were in Portland to attend a family event. We needed a two bedroom so we booked a room at the Residence Inn at the Riverfront. Great location. Easy walk to the street car and MAX, the public transportation system. The hotel is located near an area nice to walk around too. Lots of public space. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff could not have been nicer. Very helpful, friendly and most accommodating. They gave us our room right away. The lobby was modern and up to date, the elevat... This is a superior Residence Inn property. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The location is adjacent to the River Walk along the Willamette River, which is great for walking and jogging, as well as having a number of good restaurants, bars and sidewalk dining options. Also close to the tram to Oregon Health & Sciences University Hospital, Dornbecher Children's Hospital, and the attached medical complex. A bit pricey but worth it.

Great place to stay. Folks were friendly, helpful, and had a smile on their face. Always a greeting and available to answer questions! I will make it a point to always make this a hole when traveling to Portland. Convenient to the Riverwalk, restaurants, and the local area. You cannot go wrong!

This is our 2nd stay here. I continue to be impressed by the team here. Arrival was excellent, we had a package waiting for us. 3 nights were great. This is the quiet end of the waterfront but only 5 minute walk to McCall Park. Along light rail line.. most impressive was the breakfast team of servers that kept very big family groups well fed, well organized and flowing thru smoothly. Clean tables, happy families, well done team. I'll stay here every time we are in Portland. Cheers!

Above average Residence Inn. Clean and well-managed. Outstanding front desk staff, who clearly take pride in their property and their city. Breakfast staff also stellar, quickly restocking items and clearing and cleaning tables. Many guests take their food back to their rooms ?? facilitated by available cafeteria style trays. This is a good thing ?? otherwise the public breakfast area would be overcrowded. The studio rooms actually have a more spacious feel than the two room suites, despite t... Read more

This Marriot property offers an excellent lodging experience. It is located just across from a streetcar stop. As for location, we chose this property for its proximity to the home of friends and the streetcar stop to get around. This Residence Inn is BEAUTIFULLY decorated with a large public lobby area that includes sofas, tables, chairs and nooks. It is also where an above average complimentary self-serve buffet breakfast is served. Marriott rarely disappoints. The breakfast staff worked t... Read more

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, clean room with extra space! The staff in the breakfast area were busy bees and friendly with all patrons despite a myriad of demands. We loved our stay at this Residence Inn. Although a little pricey for a couple, this is an excellent value for families with children . . . . plenty of room and a robust breakfast! Thank you.

We came to visit family with our 2 year old. The room was a little smaller than other Residence Inns we have stayed in but service was great. Breakfast was great and the location was perfect for the things we had to do. Parking was a little expensive but the value on the room made up for it. We will stay here again.

It is close walking distance to the waterfront park and there is a streetcar stop right out front. All of this makes for a great home away from home... but the best part was Whit! We booked the Residence Inn at RiverPlace based on positive reviews on TripAdvisor, thinking, based on its name, that we would have a nice view of the river. While the Inn is located right next to the river, it is also located right next to the freeway and the junction of three overpasses. Needless to say, we didn't have a nice view and the noise from the freeway traffic was non-stop. Although the windows were double paned, we were always aware of the noise.
