We spent the night at the Hotel Vintage after visiting a terminal friend. Needless to say it had been a trying day. The Hotel Vintage was like an Oasis in the desert. Every single person we meet was friendly and welcoming. The valet was friendly and prompt. The front desk staff all welcomed us with smiles on their faces and promptly suggested that we get a glass of wine from the local vineyard that was hosting the "wine hour". When we arrived in our nice sized, clean and well appointed room, ... Read more

Over the years I've stayed at this hotel a number of times as I'm a huge fan of the Kimpton brand. I reviewed it last in 2014 when it was soon to close for a major rennovation. I've stayed several times in its new incarnation, the most recent was the weekend of April 22nd. All of the rooms are now wine themed and the rennovated hotel has maintained all of the Kimpton traditions -- animal friendly, evening wine reception, a relatively well stocked honor bar, great customer service and a high en... Stayed in May of 16 and this is a nicely done remodel. The rooms are a little smaller than I would like and the bathrooms took some ingenious planning to make it work. Nice boutique hotel and I would most likely stay there again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and truly enjoyed it. We like using the Kimpton hotels, and this one is no exception. Staff is friendly and helpful consistently. Room was very comfortable; I'm not a big fan of the light surrounding the mirror in the bathroom, though - it makes your pupils look like you're from the village of the damned from the reflection if you look at the mirror right. Nice to have loaner umbrellas for walking about.

The staff at Vintage Plaza is very friendly! We brought our 2 dogs and baby and everyone enjoyed our stay. The valet team is amazing! Even with all our baby gear they were very happy to help! Breakfast in room or dining was very good. Great place to stay in Portland!

Great location downtown, close to most things. Lots to do in this awesome town. The Grotto , Washington Park and the Tram. Hotel Vintage is a perfect home base. So clean and comfortable. Everyone was friendly and helpful. After long days of running around town, it was so nice to come back to the peace and quiet of our room.

This hotel quickly became one of my favorites. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi if you join their rewards program which only takes a couple of minutes. You also will get a voucher for the mini bar or food or other stuff, so well worth it. They had bikes you could check out to cruise around town. If you didn't want housekeeping services, you can get food vouchers, which is cool. They save money, you aren't bothered, and you get rewarded for it. Perfect! We had a Sky Loft room wh... Read more

Portland was a blast and staying at this hotel was one of our best decisions for our weekend. The location was super convenient and everything was within 15 minutes walk. The common areas have a great atmosphere and we really loved the bar! Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished, and the hotel staff was super friendly and helpful every single time. I went on a 4 day weekend getaway with a group of college friends. We had two amazing suites that made the entire vacation luxurious. I must give a major shout out to Ryan, our amazing concierge. Ryan helped me plan the trip for two months. He was right on with all the restaurants and planned the most amazing day trips. The hotel staff was always accommodating and always made us feel special. I have strayed in many hotels that worked hard at having the appearance of quality without any real substance there. Yeah the lobby may be pretty fancy and the decor may be slick and contemporary, but the AC is on the fritz, the staff is slow and possibly loud, and half the outlets in the room don't work. This is not at all the case at Hotel Vintage Portland. The entire staff is friendly and ready to help however they can. The doors are nice and thick so the only sounds that carry are the sound... This is a really great hotel, with a wonderful staff -- all of them were wonderful to us. And most important, they were wonderful to our Golden Retriever. We started staying at Kimpton Hotels 6 years ago, primarily because of their pet policy. They are great with your four-legged children. The Vintage, in Downtown Portland, is well-located, and obviously recently remodeled. I really think they did a great job at this hotel. The decor is upscale and interesting, without being pretentious. ... Read more

Our first stop on our great Northwest tour. Perfect location, right downtown. Our room didn't have a window just a big sky light. So it was always dark. Good news it was super quiet, great to sleep in as it was so dark and the room was very large. Best news was it had the biggest soaking tub we had ever seen, wife absolutely loved it. Staff here is incredible, lobby is very well laid out and every evening there was someone from a local winery pouring great wines.

Super smart, super trendy. A very stylish hotel. Very cool modern rooms. Decor all around was fantastic. Room had every facility you could need from lightning iPhone docs, usb charger points to great quality hd tv. Position in centre of Portland could not be better. Live music in the pm and free wine from 5-6pm was much appreciated. The bar and the barman were very good. He is a talented maker of cocktails. This isn't the biggest hotel we've stayed in but what really stood out was the friendliness of the staff. From the bellmen Scott and Danny to Ryan the concierge, we were taken care of as if we were regulars. The location was good for wandering around the Pearl District. The rooms aren't overly fancy but we were very comfortable. The snacks in the lobby as we were checking in were a family hit! This place is for sure dog friendly. We will gladly stay here again.

The hotel has a fun wine theme -- its name refers to vintages of wine. We enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting in the evening. We got a corner room with floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out on the architecturally interesting buildings nearby. There was some street noise, but it wasn't bad. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well laid out. Very convenient location in downtown Portland.

I love the Kimpton chain and try to stay in them when I can afford it! The Vintage was a great place.Great location and great staff. The room was a little oddly shaped, but it was comfortable, clean and extremely quiet for a downtown hotel - this is something that has become more important to me as I get older. Speaking of which, everyone on the staff seemed to be under 35! We didn't try the restaurant, but the bar was great and the afternoon wine is a nice extra.

But what I enjoyed most about this hotel is that they did so many great things that were BEYOND expectations, that they really deserved 6 stars. It's been a few years since I've stayed here and I have to say, they spent the time, effort and money to make this place even better than it was before. Upgraded and new everything, new bar in the lobby, great little nooks for gaming, relaxing and catching up with friends. The staff were always great, but it felt even greater this time, almost like the refresh pumped everything up a notch! The graffiti art gave it a little ooomph... just right and not too much. From the moment we arrived, Brendan greeted us at the curb with friendly excellent valet service. He was so patient and helpful as we unloaded the car with enough bags, pillows, and snacks to feed a small army. I normally stay at Kimpton properties by myself on business travel, but this was a family trip with my 2 small kids. We stayed in a King Deluxe room, which had enough space for a crib at the end of the bed (which was already placed in our room before our arrival). The boys also had we... Read more

So this reservation was made for my sister and my niece's trip to Portland. The prices were outrageous but luckily I was able to book the room under our company corporate rate. After reading reviews, requested quiet room in the higher-floors. The room was an "inside facing" room with only 1 window, but it was tolerable as the room had cool decoration and was well appointed. The size is not huge by any means but a fairly good size. Given that we save a lot of money the 1 window thing although no... Read more

This was ranked #3 on Tripadvisor when I went and I thought I'd try it out since I already stayed at the #1 and I have to say that this one is one of my favorite in Portland. If you're debating between the top 3 hotels based on tripadvisor which I noticed I tend to, I would say you should pick based on the company you keep. I would say Riverplace is more for couples and that scene of taking a walk near the lake and having a nice drink on rocking chairs. I walked by Monaco and I would say that th... Read more

I'm a frequent business and recreational traveler and this is one of my favorite ever hotels. This trip I got an upgrade to the Imperial Suite and it was ridiculously nice. Spread out over two floors with a spiral staircase this suite is a stunner. The staff are fantastic and the restaurant is a an excellent choice as well. Its also in walking distance to a lot of fun places.

Excellent location. Pleasant staff. Clean, comfortable (and cozy) room. There's plenty to like about the Hotel Vintage, especially its cool bar scene in the lobby. Easy to reach many of Portland's sights on foot from the hotel. In my experience, Kimpton hotels often feature bright, whimsical interior design. This hotel - with its dark browns and tans - projects a more reserved image. While its restaurant Pazzo was OK, Chef Vitaly Paley's Imperial is right next door and worth checking out. I woul... What a great hotel and staff the Hotel Vintage has. From the valet staff promptly greeting you to the smiling faces of the front desk staff, to the bartenders and wait staff, absolutely incredible. Room was fantastic, plenty of room complete with a few snacks and local beers to my surprise. Will be booking my next Portland trip soon, and I certainly know where I will be staying. Thank you to everyone who made my stay a great one.

We stayed in a number of places on a recent road trip and brought two dogs along with us. Of all the hotels that were dog-friendly, this was exceptional! It took the term "dog-friendly" to a whole new level that I've never seen before. Our dogs were completely and totally welcome by everyone, staff and customers alike. It took us a while to figure out that "vintage" referred to wine, but once we got it, we saw signs everywhere. Will definitely be back!

We have chosen to stay at Kimpton hotels for several trips. We love the boutique feel, generally modern but always with attentive staff. Having access to bikes in any city is terrific, especially in Portland. The evening wine tasting was a nice touch-and informative. We met some nice people and got great recommendations with directions from the concierge.

Don't expect antiques any type of old-world vibe... Vintage Portland is a small, hipster boutique hotel with a wine theme running throughout. Nice wine tasting in the evening. Stayed in a "Garden Room" and enjoyed the hot tub and enclosed patio/balcony. The hotel is first class in almost all respects except the bed which was thin and uncomfortable. Friendly staff and great location make this Vintage worth trying again.

The Vinage is known as a fun place to stay in Portland but it is also a great place to just rest. Had a medical procedure on my back and chose to stay at The Vintage to recover. Couldn't have had a better place to stay. The. Hotel staff and room service folks from Pazzo Restaurant took very good care of me. Plus they left me alone when I wanted to sleep.

Booked this hotel based on TA reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The staff, from the valet to the front desk to the housekeepers, are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Checkin was easy, the valet delivered our car quickly, and our room was made up while we were out. Very modern and unique style, very comfortable bed, great shower. We expected this to be a 4 star property and it was just OK. VERY expensive $375 plus $45 parking for an just OK property. The room was just OK sheets were good not great, bathroom and towels were just OK. There was a free wine tasting that was nice. A very loud lobby bar was disappointing for its inability to control loud groups. The hotel nickels and dimes everything from Wi-Fi to the bar. All and all it was a nice average hotel at a premium price. Not our choice of attributes.

On checking out, the front desk attendant asked how our room service breakfast had been. The hotel staff and accommodations were all great. The bartenders were extremely into their craft and the ambience made for a comfortable place to have a drink. The only reason its not a 5 rating is because of the shower not being sealed at the bottom which led to a wet bathroom floor any time we showered. They sent an engineer to look at it immediately but nothing was actually fixed so it was just a minor inconvenience.
