When we suggested that our friends from across the country stay in this hotel for our son's wedding weekend, we hoped all of them would have favorable experiences. Six rooms were reserved for the weekend of April 23, 2016. Everyone was pleased to have stayed here. There were many other very pricey options in the Pearl district with no free parking and no free breakfast. This HI did not disappoint. The owner personally contacted us when an unexpected situation arose which was beyond his cont... Read more

Location itself- no court yard- is ok but it is so close to nob hill and nice walk to voodoo donuts. The staff is helpful and both stays the room was very clean. There is also so local cafes and restaurants within walking distance. I would stay here again. There is a indoor pool.

This Holiday Inn is in Nob Hill, just over the freeway from the Pearl District. You can catch a bus or the streetcar within blocks of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are not as big as many Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have been in. They have a hot breakfast which can be great or just okay depending on the day. Sometimes the juice tastes like barely flavored water. The coffee is not very strong. They ha... Read more

The hotel is a standard Holiday Inn and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but the reception staff stood out as excellent. We were new to the area and they were very welcoming and helpful in giving us directions and advice on where to visit. The hotel has free parking and is close to the freeway so is ideal for driving to/from if travelling out of town. Nearby is the fun Nob Hill district, with loads of restaurants, bars and independent shops, great for an evening out. Most other areas are a p... Read more

I found this hotel very convenient, not just because it was well within walkable distance from Montgomery park, my office, but also because the location itself. It is right in the vicinity of one of the most happening place in Portland NW. It has excellent access to the public transport system. You cannot literally run out of options for restaurants for dinner on the 23rd avenue that is pretty much within walkable distance. The staffs were quite friendly. The breakfasts they serve are all very h... Read more

I got here early since an appointment canceled and they let me check in which was nice. One of them even ran up to make sure the room was clean and ready. Wifi worked well for work and streaming a movie. Only had a shower so I missed my after flight bath :( Staff was all friendly and helpful. Breakfast is typical hotel style with weird eggs and supposed turkey sausage. But there was bagels, yogurt and such.

Great front desk staff. Check in was quick. One elevator on property which is a little slow. Parking is free with half of it below hotel. Rooms are large and the bedding is nice. Great pillows. On site laundry. Forrest park is blocks away for hiking, jogging, biking.

Stayed as a family for a child's sports tournament. All amenities including guest laundry - Night manager Shaunice was very helpful- gave us a room upgrade and excellent recommendations for restaurants and route for a morning run. Excellent location- 23rd Ave is walking distance to a variety of restaurants.

Perfect for a short stay in Portland en route to Seattle from Cali. Location was fine as we had a car and there are plenty of public transport stops nearby. It has a jack in the box over the road and a dutch bros which was perfect. Lift can take a while to come once called so we took the stairs alot of the time as we were able. If you have mob problems.. ask for a ground floor room. Bed was comfy, room and bathroom were clean. Had a fridge in the room too for drinks etc. Pool clean and enticing.... Read more

Driving toward the hotel from the freeway overpass, I wasn't sure if the room would be quiet as city noise has a way of filtering in, but our room was indeed quiet. Room was also spacious with a good sized bathroom, although I wish the showerheads at Holiday Inn were not so "low flow." It takes longer to rinse which offsets the water savings. Do love the breakfast cinnamon rolls at Holiday Inn.

This was our first time in Portland, so we wanted to be near 23rd St. N.W. shopping, the Rose Garden/Japanese Gardens and Powell's Books. This fit the specs. It is a typical Holiday Inn; nothing great, but just fine. We paid the same here as the Hyatt in Seattle, with the Hyatt coming in ahead in room and breakfast.

The stay started reasonably well. Alright, Internet connectivity was more difficult than it should be and the breakfasts were barely average (poor selection) etc. On the penultimate day we were out for most of the day and upon return were very disappointed that our room had not yet been serviced by 4.30 pa. Front desk staff shrugged this off saying at least the housekeeping staff were still on site. The last day brought comic farce. Though we had prepaid such that no further amount was due... Read more

Spent an evening on business travel. Free parking. No crime or other threats that I could see and I walked outside near dark. Clean, comfortable rooms,. Microwave, Kuerig machine and refrigerator in rooms. Fast check in and staff did a small favor that they did not have to (excellent customer service attitude). Much better value than hotels right downtown and with free parking makes it great even better. Only 8 minutes drive from location to downtown business meetings for me. Will stay there aga... The facility is clean, rooms spacious, wifi is free, the room has a Keurig for coffee and local establishments worth a visit are a block or two away. The free breakfast was nothing to write home about, but the selection was good- yogurt, cereal, eggs, bacon, baked stuff, juice. I found the staff to be courteous and helpful. The location was not ideal, because business meetings were mostly downtown and across the river, but I knew that when I booked. The address is right on the exit off I405 an... Read more

The reason I wouldn't give this property 5 stars is because rooms on the first 3 floors that are even numbered get a building as their view. I was staying for 3 nights and asked for a room change. They were very accommodating and I was put in a room with a view of the bridges. Noisy, but a nice way to wake up and wind down. The staff was really great. I'm not sure how they could have been more friendly or accommodating. The hotel is located within walking distance of the street cars and a ... Read more

Let's start with the positives: The staff members were friendly, polite, and attentive to our needs! The location of the hotel is close to downtown Portland, however, a cab ride is necessary (The cab was VERY quick with picking us up). Parking was free, which is a plus in a city. The room itself was clean...no problem there. Now, some things they can improve on: The elevator is very slow and takes forever. There's only four levels, but it took a long time for the elevator to arrive. The r... Read more

We stayed 2 night at this hotel. It's in perfect location close to everything - attractions, highways, great food on 23rd NW street. It provides free parking which could be costly in Portland. Otherwise - very overpriced hotel even for the area of Portland.

Our room was comfortable and the beds were cozy. The room has a coffee maker and there is the usual breakfast downstairs. There is also a pool and hot tub, which were nice after driving all day. Free parking and easy access off the highway. Easy to miss narrow entrance to parking lot it is directly in front of the entrance. Elevator really is slow. We took the stairs as much as possible. It's currently under construction so there is a lot of noise during the day.

Folks, We've been staying at this particular HEI for over 10 years now and everything remains well managed from year to year. Yes, the elevator seems to be the slowest in the country, but once you get your luggage upstairs one seems motivated to get some exercise and take the stairs rather than wait for the lift. Staff is always wonderful, ample free parking on site, great beer & pub grub within walking distance, and easy access to the highway when heading out for business or pleasure. Rooms a... Read more

I was telling my friends that I really lucked out by finding this hotel. It's located in a very convenient location close to downtown, and in a vibrant area. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. A nice perk is that there is no charge for parking vs the $40+ per night you find at other hotels only a few blocks away.

This was our first visit to this HIE and we were not disappointed. From check in to check out, it was a good experience. The hotel is well maintained. I just read that one reviewer has stayed at this HIE for 10 years. That surprised me because it looks almost new. The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean. The staff very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast had a nice assortment of food. My only complaint was the bed pillows were not comfortable. The location was so convenie... We went to this hotel recently for a weekend. It is the best. The large breakfast selection including all the hot food (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, cinnamon rolls) is fabulous. There are healthy options including fruit, yogurt, cereal. We also love the pool, spa and fitness center. The ladies up front are really informed and can give you suggestions and directions. The location is very convenient, being right at the bottom of the highway exit ramp and they have good onsite parking. The hotel seems to have been recently renovated, check in was without issue, and my room was large and clean. Breakfast was included, and was a hot buffet. Some days the eggs were premade cheese omelets, which I liked a lot. Overall, it was a good stay at a nice hotel. Decided to hit the trailblazer game last minute on the evening of November 26th. Spoke with Elise over the telephone and headed south to Portland with two kids in tow. Arrived and was hungry so asked for directions to the closest restaurants and was given a paper with dozens of choices, all within walking distance. Since it was raining, was given umbrellas for our short walk. Slept fantastic and seized the day in Portland. Arrived back to the hotel to pick up our bags around 10:00 PM. Kids... Read more
