Great location, brand new rooms, nice staff. Easy to see from the freeway and easy to drive to. Great coffee in the morning and view from guest room was beautiful. This hotel just opened but you can tell it is going to be very popular.

Nice, new hotel, good location to start a bike ride or walk and close to river. Only problem was construction noise as they were still building the hotel pool. I also didn't care for the elliptical in the exercise room. I have some physical difficulties and the ellipitical was "going up hill" and could only be adjusted so much and it just wouldn't work for my issues.

This hotel just opened and the staff really rolled out the red carpet for its guests. The location is excellent, with great views of the lake. For nature lovers, there are beavers and wildberries behind the hotel, plus excellent star gazing a few steps away at night. Lots of water sports to enjoy at the lake like kitesurfing. The town is easily accessible on foot, with many great places to eat. The Hampton staff compiled a complete write up of restaurants and were very helpful about information.... Read more

The room was fantastic. Very spacious and comfortable with three children. We were the first occupants ever in the room. Great views and right off the Hood River. Easy access to the bike path. It was close to the Interstate and at first I was concerned about the noise, but it didn't bother me at all. The treadmill was great with a TV right in front of me. The breakfast was great. Lots of good options. You eat in a large open area. Staff was great and made the stay very pleasant. Free ... Read more

Stayed in this hotel overnight at the last-minute on a cross-country trip. We were awed by the gigantic room--it had a full size couch with chaise, extra seating, a desk that could double as a table, and a toilet/shower that are separate from the larger bathroom area. Shelves under the counter in the bathroom cleverly solve the problem of too many toiletries on the counter. The hotel had been open less than a week on the night we stayed, and everything was spic and span. I even let my kids take ... Read more

The Good. The rooms are well laid out. Has the best sleeper sofa I've ever seen. and the HVAC is very quiet. Breakfast is good but pretty basic. There are very random decals in the elevator. One decal said "Awesome Sauce" and had a picture of various Hot Sauces. I was a little confused about why you would have that on the elevator door. I went to check out the pool that is not open yet. There was a dog walking around the pool area. Thought that was weird. The Interstate is right next to the hot... Read more

This location is easily located from I-84 and conveniently located near the waterfront park (shops, dining, kite-boarding) and a short walk from downtown on a nice greenbelt walkway. Staff were very friendly - specifically Luria. Luria pointed us towards some great restaurants and even printed a map to guide us to a great wild blackberry patch.

There's definitely a lot of potential here, but it's brand new and there are a few kinks to work out. Rooms are really nice and location is fantastic. We took bikes and easily made it into town. Beach front is within a short walking distance. I could see this place as a 4 or 5 stars down the road. Linens were rough. Fire alarm went off twice in the morning. Drilling started around 6am (and lasted a short time) - I think they were working on pool or patio furniture. Pool and outdoor patio... Read more

This new hotel sits right on the banks of the Columbia River in Hood River, OR. As a Midwesterner who grew up in what are often classified as flyover states, I can't begin to describe the natural beauty that surrounds this hotel and town. Front desk staff was pleasant and very helpful in correcting the problem when our assigned room was not what we had reserved. I stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip and my stay was extremely pleasant. Since this hotel just opened up this year, everything was brand new, very clean especially the bathroom/shower. I had a nice room over looking the river. Very fast check in and nice staff. I appreciate the free breakfast and the coffee area available. It's conveniently right off the highway.

In general, this is a nice place. I was happy that construction was good enough to drown out noise from freeway and trains. All but one staff member was smiling and cordial. My dissatisfaction was centered around the fact that I had no heat, AC, or any ability to circulate air at all. I have only had one worse experience at a hotel in my entire life, and it was due to a power outage on a 100' night in Nevada! I am not a demanding customer and I very calmly and respectfully shared my problem wi... Read more

Up scale, clean rooms in a great location! Breakfast was good, parking is free. Pet friendly. Will definitely be back! This is a new hotel and has a nice pool too. We loved that we were near walking trails and got a great show from our room's window from some bald eagles.

The Hampton Inn in Hood River is outstanding. First, the staff are top notch and made sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. The hotel is new and the location is ideal. I had heard that some locals were upset at the hotel location, I loved being on the banks of the Columbia River. There are lots of places to walk/jog. Absolutely one of the best hotels ever!

What we want to be able to do at a hotel is to SLEEP. So, let me say that sleep was impossible because 1) the bed was so soft my back immediately began to hurt; 2) the traffic noise from the highway was very loud; 3) the A/C was so loud that we had to turn it off, and then the room got too hot; and 4) we could hear guests on the floor above us walking and moving around. After we complained, the Front Desk moved us to another room which was facing the river, so it was quieter. However, at 6a.m... Read more

I loved the location and the great customer service! Each morning I went on a run on the path along the river which is right in front of the hotel. There is also a path that goes from the hotel, under the freeway, over to all the restaurants and shops. It's a very convenient location. Next time I'll bring the kids and their bikes!

Beautiful, spacious, well done - in a beautiful area. The area surrounding Hood River is so gorgeous. This was for a family trip and the entire family enjoyed the area! We will definitely go back to this area again!
