Traveled with one of our dogs. This place is pet friendly, clean, quiet and conveniently located. Amenities added a nice touch. Have a large truck with parking close to the side entrance. This will be a repeat for us!

This is a great hotel blocks from historical Nye Beach. It was a little noisy because of remodeling but they told us that up front. The rooms were big, nice balcony overlooking the beach. The staff was very good and the complimentary 5 PM smoked salmon chowder was fabulous. The free morning breakfast had a nice variety for everyone.

We've stayed at other places in Newport and prefer Elizabeth Street Inn by a mile. We love the rooms with ocean view, the little goodies they serve, the breakfast and easy walking to Nye Beach. The pool is relaxing but a bit of a stretch to get there. Worth it though. We'll be back!

Beautiful beachfront location. Each room had a private balcony and gas fireplace (which comes in handy as the night can be cold). Very friendly staff. Rooms were beautiful and clean; felt luxurious. Wonderful surprises of complimentary salmon chowder at 5pm and fresh baked cookies at 8pm. Breakfast is very standard (waffles, muffins, cereal, biscuits, etc). I would gladly stay here again upon a second visit.

As mentioned in other reviews, this comfortable hotel has a lot of wonderful amenities. It sits on a bluff overlooking the majestic Pacific with oceanfront rooms and balconies. However it is this same bluff that make beach access difficult. There is no direct beach access from this hotel. Your choices are; stairs on the neighboring hotel property, which are steep but have a handrail, or a walk/short drive to Nye Beach where there is ramp from the parking lot onto the beach. Either way, this is ... Read more

Disappointed in the number of repairs the room needed and disruptions for the repairs to be made. Overall it is a nice oceanfront with balcony and excellent parking with elevator. Close proximity to historic bay and Nye Beach.

I stayed here and it was nice, we had a remodeled room. There's no air conditioner so until the ocean breeze cools down your room at night it's a bit hot (although we were on the top floor). Our room was clean the Keurig was a bit dirty so I didn't use it. No serious complaints just another hotel, the lady at the front desk was quite welcoming which I appreciated after a long drive down the coast. The access to the beach is just up the road an easy walk.

Overall, we loved the Elizabeth Street Inn. The room was small, but nice. The pool was warm, and the exercise room overlooked the ocean, and the pool on the side. There is a free breakfast with hot food, and on some nights, they have complimentary clam chowder, which was good. They also have yummy cookies. It was nice to have glass glasses for beverages. However, if you bring food for the fridge, it is hard to get the right temp on the fridge. The control is in the back. Ask for help for t... Read more

Wow, what a letdown! Stayed at this hotel a number of times when we first started to come to Newport for a mini vacation. Our present goto hotel was booked so thought we would try the Elizabeth again, especially after their just recent remodel. Big mistake. List of things wrong or that did not work, fireplace would not turn on, phone did not work and its wires were hanging out of the jack, top plug-in of the outlet by the phone was dead, fan in bathroom was not working and when cover was rem... What a find! Very spacious room with sitting area & a balcony with a view to die for, right on the beach. I could have watched the ocean all day. Staff were very friendly & parking on site. Lots of DVDs to borrow from lobby. Great coffee in room. Free breakfast was basic but adequate

Location of the hotel was excellent- oceanfront - a few blocks off Route 101. Beach is very long. It probably takes 1 3/4 hrs to walk the entire length. It's best to have a car. Don't forget to visit Nye Beach (downtown area) which is, if you are facing the hotel from the beach, on the left. We didn't see it until we were leaving town as we headed towards the historic bay front for some reason out of habit.

Took advantage of the Father's Day special for my hubby. We have stayed here a few times before and have always had a good experience. This time, we had a 20 week old puppy with us. First time EVER we have had a pet at a hotel. Now I know what questions I should be asking! First, they had no 'pet' area. When I asked if there was any grassy area nearby I was told "The only grassy areas belong to private properties. We cannot recommend that you take your dog there but a lot of guests do. Make sure ... We have been to this Inn many times over the years and it always is a great experience! Every room faces the ocean and the chowder and cookies each evening make it such a friendly place! We will continue to visit this as our favorite Oregon Coast accommodation.

Over the past few years we have been here a few times. The hotel has gotten progressively worse. We cut our stay short and we will not be going back. The room this time was poorly and minimally refurbished, poorly maintained and dirty. Its on the ocean, but don't expect more than that.

I embarked upon this trip with some trepidation. I had read through the myriad reviews of numerous hotels and all those pertaining to this one and took a leap of faith with this one. There were horror stories about the renovations and cleanliness on-line so I was skeptical. I stayed in room 126 (pet friendly) I must admit I did make a call to dispel any thoughts of having about entering a room that smelled like urine. The front desk assured me that the room had hardwood floors and was renovate... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in several hotels during a 10 day road trip, but this was our favorite. We had a lovely room, with an outstanding ocean view! The hotel was clean, although it could have used a bit of touch up paint here and there. The room design was very usable, with a sink area outside the toilet and shower area. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was the normal fare with waffle griddles, cereal, etc. They do offer freshly baked cookies in the late afternoon, w... Read more

I drove up the ramp and parked in the covered parking and walked in to be greeted by a very friendly young lady who told me my room was ready, over 2 hours early, and was given a room for which I had requested, on the top floor. I entered my two queen room and the first thing was the great view! I walked to dinner and took in a concert afterwards at the Newport Performing Arts Center. Take in the symphony and/or a show if you can! The 3 minute walk back to the Inn brought me back to sitting on... Read more

We spent two nights there on a whim. We didnt have reservations and decided to stop in the area. Our room was ocean front with an unobstructed view of the beach and sunset. The room was well appointed with a fireplace. They have cookies in the lobby at 8 pm which wa san unexpected treat and they serve breakfast on the 3rd floor every morning. The breakfast was just okay which is why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Would stay there again for the location and room.

Sheets were not changed, even though they were clearly soiled and even though we did not set out the "do not change" signal. A food tray was left in the room. Also, it was very hard to open the drapes to the balcony.

I have always wanted to stay in a hotel on the Oregon coast that was right on the beach. So I found the Elizabeth Street Inn and decided to book it. It was a very nice stay. Our room was quiet and the views were excellent. There wasn't much more I needed than to see and hear the ocean and feel the breeze. The hotel itself is well kept but doesn't really stick out from other nearby hotels. The room was nice and had everything you could expect, to include a comfy bed and chairs for the balcony.... We have been coming here a couple of times a year for 5 years and thoroughly enjoyed our stays. The location is perfect right on the beach and a short walk to Nye Beach. The rooms, however, were really showing wear. Upon our arrival this time we were happy to see them renovated (although clearly by the low bidder). The rooms are lovely but housekeeping's attention to detail is lacking: sketchy dusting, bird droppings all over the deck (glass and floor) and no service at all one day after bein... Read more

Newly remodeled (I agree with the other reviewer, it's obvious it was done by a less expensive bidder). I think there's really only 1 major thing this hotel has going for it, it's on the beach. It doesn't have direct access to the beach, you need to walk a ways down to get to the path that will take you down to the beach. Our room was well into the high 80's, low 90's when we arrived. Since there's no air conditioning there was really no way to keep the room cool. Luckily we only used the room f... Read more

The room was recently updated. The view was amazing and listening to the waves all night long..I'll never forget. The most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever had, I wish I could have found a way to take them home. The only down point was the bathroom it would have been perfect with an updated shower. The breakfast was great.. cereal..fruit..bread...yogurt...eggs and sausage..biscuits. coffee..milk and juice..waffles.

Quick check in, receptionist wasn't that friendly but others seemed nicer. The room was nice with a balcony overlooking the beach and Pacific Ocean. The lift was the slowest in the world. Breakfast was fine with a waffle maker for people to make their own. We used the gym and pool also. The gym was a bit small and too hot. The location of the hotel was good for Nye Beach and The Chowder Bowl where we enjoyed a lovely meal.

Visited here with our family of 4 and had a nice stay. Rooms are nice and all rooms face the ocean. Our room had a fireplace which was a nice addition to the setting. Breakfast was on par or better than most with quick refilling by staff. We basically had the breakfast room to ourselves at 7:00 on a Sunday morning. Be careful entering the garage. First of all, if you are checking in with pets, you CANNOT book online. Only a few rooms are pet friendly. And some breeds are banned all together. We were completely taken aback with that policy. That said, the staff was very nice in accommodating us. The rooms are spacious but a wee bit dated. Grab a room on the top floor for a fab view. WARNING: The shower was pretty darn poor.

On a positive note, the room is spacious and the view is amazing! The bathroom had a fan which is unheard of these days. It has what you need. With that being said it is not what one expects at this price range. This hotel is in the process of remodeling. Honestly, it looks like a DIY job. The sound of the toilet flushing in our room and our neighbors was frightening! Loud enough to wake you. There was a small hole in our bathtub which looked like dirt at first sight. We stayed here two nights while touring Oregon from Southern California. As I mentioned in the title, the Inn can be so much nicer if they put a little more love and care to the property. When we checked in (a family of 4) there was only one bath towel in the bathroom. Vacuuming wasn't the best also. Also, I hope hotel executives read this. Please use decent toilet paper, not the kind that's used for prison inmates. It cheapens the hotel when you try and cut corners like that. People pay top d... Read more

This motel sits right on the beach, I think they even say every room has a beach view, our room was on the 4th floor and elevators are on the slow side, but the wait is worth the balcony view over looking the water, the rooms are very clean and beds were top notch. The next door motel has a restaurant in it, that is over the top good, if you eat there, make sure you order the Baked Mac & Cheese, it is made with aged Tillamook white cheese, you won't forget it.

Well you can't get much closer to the beach for a great view. Large room with separate sitting area and log fire with a balcony overlooking the impressive beach. A quiet place away from the rather tacky Newport which was a good find for a one night stay. Full breakfast included which proved pretty good . Clean and well presented .
