We stayed here 3 nights, but won't be back. Our room was barely straightened up and the tub and sinks were never cleaned during our stay. And, worst of all, there were ants crawling all over the place and we killed several spiders. Yuck! Also the heater in the room is so noisy it woke me up every time it kicked on. We had stayed here once before, three years ago, and our room then was clean and refurbished. But this time it was awful and the staff wasn't concerned about it in the least. My re... Read more

My first visit to the Shiloh Inn on Canyon Road but it won't be my last. It's quiet, comfortable and there's a lovely courtyard to enjoy if you think to reserve a room on that side. There's a fountain at the center with a multitude of mature plants surrounding it. Peaceful is the best word to describe it. The hotel isn't new so if you insist on recent construction it's not the place for you. If you're looking for roomy, quiet and friendly then you've found the right place. I enjoyed my stay.

Staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are however dated. Beds were comfortable though and rooms generally are well maintained. Bathrooms are clean and it looks like they have been given a recent makeover. TV however was the old CRT type and the room had a microwave oven in addition to the usual refrigerator.

The rooms are nice and clean, motel appears to be an older one. We enjoyed the sliding door out to the courtyard where chairs were available to sit outside. In the middle of the courtyard there was a water feature and a gazebo. Flowers everywhere, very relaxing.

Value: 4-star quality for a 2-star price. Location: 10 minute drive to downtown Portland. Setting: despite being next to a highway, a high percentage of rooms face inward to the fountain, pool and large pine trees Rooms: they upgraded me to a room with a balcony facing the fountain. It was very large and very clean. It had in-room coffee, a large flat screen and full amenities. Food: there is a large restaurant in the hotel. I only had breakfast there (included in the price); it was okay, bu... Read more

Tried to check in at 2:30 pm. Husband was feeling bad. The rude woman at the desk said "no check in til 4pm". We came back at 3:55 pm the guy at the front desk said it was close enough.lol. But it seemed it was taking a long time for the check in. Finally the woman behind me asked if it always takes this long. The clerk called on his walkie talkie to see if our room was ready and she practically hung up on him and just told him she would call him back. We waited for another 10 minutes, when the ... It's very discouraging when the house keeping and maintenance staff provide better customer service than the front desk help. My stay was for medical recovery from hand surgery. On two separate occasions, I went to talk to the front desk regarding safety concerns. Both times I felt I was treated like a second class citizen, yet the maintenance and house keeping staff were more than happy to listen and help where they could. I thought the front line employees were suppose to represent the face... Read more

Nice, clean, though a bit out of date. We were able to get last minute reservations, which is a bonus for us. Breakfast at the restaurant is included. Much better than the typical hotel breakfast, as you order off a menu. We will return next year.

Literally, stinks. Even after verifying my reservation twice they got it wrong. Our room was smelly, old and disgusting. The rooms don't even have towels. You have to get them from the desk. Seriously. How cheap can you get. The beds were awful and the public restrooms were locked in our building so we had to walk to the lobby. Ridiculous!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights because our home nearby was having some work done on it and we could not stay white this was happening. The Shilo is right down the hill from us so we chose it for convenience. This is a strange place. Our room was ok. Everything was worn and old looking and the carpet needed a good shampooing. They offer a free breakfast, but there are only two things you can choose from on the menu in the empty cavernous restaurant. We were glad when we coul... Read more

The room was fine, but the breakfast was sub-par. Service was intermittent and the eggs and gravy for the biscuits was only luke warm. The fruit was gone at 8 AM and was never replenished. Organization was clearly lacking.

Like others have said, the rooms and carpet are very dated. In fact the bed spread was probably from the 70's... But overall the room was quiet and clean. The shower had amazing pressure and the towels were big and soft - which I love! The only real negative for me was the breakfast. Went to breakfast right after 8:00 a.m. and there was gravy but no biscuits, no hash browns and really, really sad looking eggs. When I asked the employee if they would be refilling the food soon he was short an... Read more

The Shilo Inn Hotel is an older place but it has everything needed for a pleasant stay. The king room was fairly large and there was a balcony overlooking the pool area and a lake with a fountain. There is a restaurant and bar on site and a continental breakfast was included. They had coffee but if you wanted orange juice it cost extra.

The hotel is centrally located in Beaverton; The grounds are attractive with a pool and pond; The room was very old with an old fashioned lock that took some manipulation to unlock. Air conditioner controls were loose. Every day I found item that were not replenished in the room....towels, coffee, et. The worst part of the experience was the restaurants. At dinner, it was empty. so we left. The restaurant advertises free breakfast, but is very badly managed. Every morning the buffet was out of ... Read more

Hotel is a littlebit outdated, but it is situated on a nice place. Backside with garden and pond look beautiful. Room was very spacy and it had a very good Kingsize bed. Roon was clean, only somewhat noisy. Breakfast buffet was simple but of good quality and they serve good coffee.

We should have known from the website that only has pictures of the outside not to stay here. Our room was disgusting and filthy. No one at the front desk offered anything. The room was dusty the bathroom smelled and overall grouse. Very disappointed. So bad that we left and drove the three and half hours home. Buyer beware.

On a half hour drive from the airport and a little shorter from downtown, in the nice suburb of Beaverton, you will find this hotel. Friendly staff at the receptiion. The hotel was build some decades ago, which can be seen at the outside. The rooms are spacious, some beautifully lying around the pond. Good beds, nice bathroom, clean. Internet is kind of slow, but free wifi. Breakfast is a buffet, somewhat simple, but ok. Good coffee.

My best friend and I travel about every 3 months, this is a definite chain on our list of to stay at again now. The room was fabulous, nice quiet place. Everything was wonderfully clean. Wake up call was on time, we arrived in the evening after a day on Mt. St. Helen's tired, hungry and ready to relax. We went to the in house restaurant and bar, had a great cocktail and meal. Reasonable pricing and the staff was top notch. Anthony was our waiter and he was so helpful it was amazing. Slept great... Read more

Older hotel needs updates badly. Still use regular key, hotel was very beat up. Room was clean but just very old. Overpriced for what you get. Pool was amazing though and staff in restaurant was extremely nice. Was convenient to the Zoo. Which is what we wanted to do most. Won't stay here again.

I see there are some negative reviews and had this in mind when I booked a room for (2) nights here. I liked that it was reasonably close to the Beaverton Transit center by bus (No. 58), and then it's just a few stops to downtown Portland on the Red Line TriMet lightrail. My first impression was that the hotel is dated. The lobby is very dark. The two people manning the front desk were busy; no doubt it was a long day. We stayed here over night while passing through on our way to the ocean. First off, the staff on hand need some lessons in customer service. The gal that was helping us check-in initially was very good. However, we stood in line for awhile prior to her being able to get to us...apparently the other guy at the counter was supposed to just stand there and look pretty. The overall facility is great. My girls thoroughly enjoyed the pool. The room was an entirely different story though. We checked ... Read more

We stayed in one of the newly "renovated" executive rooms. The room was located in what I would best describe as a Hobbit warren. Up stairs, down, stairs, up hills. We were tired before we even got to our room. No elevators. The key cards required a magic touch to open doors and usually did so on the fifth or sixth attempt. The "renovated" room was Hobbit sized and difficult for two normal sized adults to move around in. The toilet was dirty, the desk chair did not work, (busted pneumatic lift) ... Read more

We stayed there two nights mostly because of the price. It's a bit worn down and can DEFINITELY use a face lift but the spot is right for cheap and decent. There were some stains on the rug in our room and the bedspread had a hole in it. Still, it didn't feel like a dirty place. I felt ok getting in bed every night. It's safe with families and couples. What I really liked was breakfast. We sat on the balcony overlooking the pool and fountain. And the food was pretty yummy for being included.... Read more

There is a pool, which I didn't use. The fountain and gazebo reminded me of staying in an apartment complex. I stayed in the rear building. The hotel itself is a bit worn, as is the restaurant. But it's clean, the staff is great, and the location is terrific. Try to find something in Portland for under $100 -- with free parking!! -- and you'll be stumped. (Admittedly, the "great location" really applies only if you have a car. If you're relying on public transportation, SW Canyon Rd is less than good.) Food is decent, beds are comfortable, interior courtyard is pretty, and pets are allowed -- for a fee, of course.

The carpets as we enter were filthy, and haven'the been vacuumed in 2 days. The towels were not changed and the room was not cleaned. Waited 20 minutes in the restaurant without even getting a glass of water, and there were only reason other people in the restaurant. Will not stay here again. We are here to support family as 7 year old grandson has brain surgery, so won't take time to relocate. Recommend you avoid this place.

I stayed in 2 rooms on Thursday night the 8th, checking out on the 9th. My parents room was okay (330). I was in 234. To start I know that the hotel was being remodeled. I did not expect perfection. I knew the furniture, carpets, and such would be old. What I did not expect is the fridge not to work or the dresser to be pulled out from the wall. I could live with that. Things happen. We've stayed here 5 times, most recently in early September. Over those visits we've stayed in 3 very different types of rooms in terms of quality. I'm guessing Shilo has 100+ rooms. They are divided into 4 separate buildings. Many rooms in the old buildings are run down and things don't work. Some rooms in the older buildings, though, are very adequate and have balconies that look out over the fountain. But rooms in the remodeled building are the best. I'd definitely suggest paying a bit mo... Read more
