This was our first stay at this motel in Astoria, and we were very impressed. Super service, great location, river view in most rooms and a window large enough that you can sit and enjoy it, huge room with high ceilings, comfy beds, Keurig coffee maker, breakfast was ok. My favorite parts of our stay were the close view of river traffic and birds. The hotel sits right along the river, the riverwalk, and the town trolley. It sits kitty corner from the Columbia Coffee Roasters. It's easy to get in... Read more

This hotel is top-notch in every way. The room with a view over the river and the long bridge to the other side couldn't have been any better. Beds so comfortable, the room light and airy. The river walk out the backdoor such a pleasant place to start the morning. The hotel provides bikes (one tandem) to enjoy the setting.

I was in town for a business meeting and found the Holiday Inn Express and Suites conveniently located to our destination. The room was fantastic as was the view on the water side. The front staff was very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend for families, business travelers, and anyone interested in the area.

I wasn't sure what to say at first. This was by far the nicest HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS we have ever stayed at. It looks like it just opened but the young lady at the front desk said they have been open for 14 years. Everything is taken care of from the rooms to the pool to the parkinglot. All the other reviews were right on. They go over the top to make you feel like you picked the right place to stay for the night. No matter if your there on business or just passing through they treat you right.

They were very welcoming and gave us a free upgrade with a fireplace which was nice because it had been cool and windy when we were walking out by the docks. They had cookies waiting at the front desk, too. I noticed bicycles when we were at breakfast the next morning that could be used by guests for free. I wish we had known the day before. That would have been fun to ride along the boardwalk since they sun did not set till 9 ish. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Wonderful view of the river, beautiful room and amenities. Quiet and very comfortable beds. Bathroom does not have a fan and needs one. Also, can't prop bathroom door to be open a bit to let steam out after a shower. Otherwise, it was perfect. Staff all were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again for sure.

I can't say enough about how wonderful and accommodating the staff were during our stay. Our room also had a wonderful view and the breakfast was great. Great for dogs with the river walk and small beach right behind it as well. And a quiet hour just for adults from 10 - 11pm in the pool?? It can't get much better.

This hotel is located beautifully by the side of the Astoria Bridge and Columbia River, so if you get a room with a view, you really get a view. Amanda, Stephanie and the other Reception staff went out of their way to be helpful, but everything went down fine - breakfast, the room, free internet , free parking, nearby eateries. The vintage tramcar passes the hotel and for a dollar you can ride to downtown - only 3/4 of a mile.

Traveling through Astoria on our way to the coast we came across the Holiday Inn Express. Very convenient location with a friendly staff. Our room was spectacular with a great view of the River and the Bridge. The room was basic, clean and the beds comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and gave us great advice on places to eat and drink. Yes, it's a big chain hotel but sometimes, when you don't know the area, this is exactly what is needed.

Clean, comfortable, scenic, convenient. Just about everything you would want to do in Astoria is within walking distance. The hotel is right on the boardwalk, and right under the Megler Bridge which crosses the Columbia River to Washington, so you get to see the big ships pass by if you get a room facing that way (recommended!). There's even a schedule of big ships in the lobby of the hotel. The breakfast bar was fine, with ample offerings.

The room and facility was as clean s we remembered it. The view was fantastic. The weather was perfect. (light rain mixed with sunshine and clearing for the sunset) The breakfast was fine. The coffee was good and the view out the windows was beautiful. We borrowed the bikes and rode up and down th... Read more

Our getaway included a two-night stay using our Intercontinental-Hotels-Group-Reward Points. Although we have often used our points for hotel rooms, this upgraded suite was perfect. Friendly staff; a clean, neat room with some luxurious touches (e.g., a fireplace) and everything in working order; an expanded, free breakfast menu (e.g., Chobani Greek yogurt); and river view made this a memorable stay. We originally picked Astoria for its relatively short drive from our WA home, adding the hotel c... Read more

I'm not used to spending this much on a motel, but have no regrets about this place. There's a fireplace in the room, a comfortable firm bed, plenty of room, nice bathroom and WHAT A VIEW! Very friendly and helpful staff, good hot breakfast, nice grounds.

I stayed here with two friends as we were on a roadtrip along the coast. This room was the best on our trip by far. There is nice board walk along the river with a beautiful view right outside the hotel. Our room was huge with two queen beds. The hot tub was good. Breakfast had a huge variety between muffins, pancakes, yogurt, etc. We were in Seaside for the day and drove down to Cannon Beach the next day.

We were passing thru Astoria & loved the area so decided to stay a night. The Holiday Inn Express was right off the bridge & easy to access. The staff was very friendly, clean rooms & very close to the trolley stop, restaurants & access to the water. Great place to stay.

Very new and clean. The rooms are large and beds are comfy. The breakfast was good with omelets, sausage, etc. It also had fresh cinnamon rolls which were great. Best of all was the view of the river and bridge from the room and dining area. There is a streetcar that stops right there and travels along the river, for a dollar. Also a nice walk along that same route. Shops and food are about a half mile. Tip: Eat at the Fort George Brewery. Outstanding beer and food.

Beautiful clean room on the 4th floor with view of the Columbia River and the bridge. The staff was very helpful and provided recommendations to local attractions and restaurants. Also brought "extra soft" pillows to the room upon request. Room was quiet and the fireplace was a nice added feature. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Stayed for one night on way up the coast. Really recommended. Very clean, very comfortable beds and pillows. Wonderful view of the bridge from our window. Great breakfast as far as American hotel breakfasts are concerned! Great one minute pancakes made fresh to order, yoghurt and cereal along with real cartons of milk. Definitely recommend.

This a new, modern property that is beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating Our room overlooked the river with a beautiful walkway. The Astoria trolley looks to be fun. Did not have time to try it. If you plan to stay here, be sure to reserve early. We wanted to stay another night but no availability. We will definitely stay at this property again.

I reserved a suite with 2 beds mainly because of the sofa and chair in the living area. The suite was good sized with a large window view of the Columbia River. The bathroom was good sized also. I had hoped for upper floors but we were on the ground floor which did limit the view! I might mention the hotel is right under the bridge which spans the Columbia here. There is a certain amount of rumble from cars and trucks on the bridge. More annoying is the banging of the outside doors. The staff wa... Read more

I don't have enough nice things to say about this hotel. It's new, right on the river with beautiful views, friendly staff, free parking, wifi and breakfast. Breakfast area is large, organized and well taken care of with a beautiful view. We were able to take bikes from the hotel for an hour for free to ride down the river walk.

We were so lucky to find this beautiful and modern hotel on our first trip to Astoria. Being able to watch the boats move up and down the Columbia River from the comfort of our hotel room was so nice! The Astoria Riverfront Trolley runs along the river in front of the hotel and guests can also relax on a small park by the hotel. The staff is accommodating and was able to help us reserve a river view room when I made the reservation. This is a luxury hotel without the luxury prices.

Location. Location. Location. This Holiday Inn sits right on the Columbia River's main shipping channel. Huge ocean-going ships pass just yards away from your window. A fascinating vantage point for viewing and photography. The trolley stops right at the hotel door so you can ride the length of Astoria's waterfront in style. As to the hotel itself--the staff is wonderful, rooms are clean and well-maintained, there is a good breakfast in the morning. Really nothing but positives for this property... Read more

I have been fortunate to stay with these folks on 3 occasions over the past 5 years. We were there earlier in September and the GM is the same as she was 5 years ago. Her commitment to excellence in customer service combined with the continued upgrade to the property are the main reasons we took a group of bicycle riders for another stay. The property backs up to the water and is convenient to many restaurants. We will return to this hotel again.

Located practically under the bridge in Astoria gave us awesome views of freighters, boats and cruise ships directly out front, and even the cruise ships out in the open waters to the west. A glass of wine, sea lions/seals, fish, birds... what a great way to enjoy the evening! A short walk down the boardwalk to some great places to eat, as well. Room was relatively quiet and clean. Actually no complaints! Stayed in newer section, in a suite on fourth floor, #402. Motel and room very carefully planned, seemed to think of everything! Staff very courteous and efficient. Free breakfast well stocked, with great variety. There is the noise of bridge traffic just above motel, but not that bad. Suggest you ask for a river view on one of the top two floors.

We had a great time in Astoria. We wanted to drive over the bridge to begin our Oregon coast adventure in Astoria and we are so glad we stayed here. I was considering the few hotels west of the bridge but I am glad we chose Holiday Inn as the location was better. The hotels to the west are a little far from everything. Check in was great. Very friendly staff upgraded us to a view room! The hotel is almost under the bridge and it's a spectacular location for viewing the bridge, ships and sunset !... Read more

Front desk staff was incredibly rude and unaccommodating when we had a question regarding an issue with our reservation. Refused to even let us speak with the manager when we requested to. I don't have very high expectations for chain hotels, but when I have a complaint I don't appreciate a juvenile attitude and "that's just the way it is, bye" to be the literal response from an employee. So unprofessional, and clearly don't care about customer satisfaction.

We have stayed here three times, most recently last night (10/9/16). The river views are unbeatable and the rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. Nice touches like warm baked cookies on arrival, and a delicious complimentary breakfast (the individual omelets and sausage patties are great) make this place a winner. We travel to Astoria at least twice a year and we will certainly be back.

We stayed here based on availability. It was close to the bridge to Washington. We used the indoor pool. It was a decent size. We used the laundry room. I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel during an impromptu last minute trip to Astoria. It was the Memorial day weekend and thus the room rate was slightly on the higher side, but the experience made it worth while. This hotel was a total surprise. Is is quite new and is clean, bright and has a wonderful location on the water. Our room had gas fireplaces that gave off quite a bit of heat and make for a very cozy room for Floridians in cool Oregon. The staff was young and eager to please. Behind the hotel is a walkway along the river. We took a nice walk and then found the Bridgewater Bistro for dinner. Stay here if you're in Astoria

Everything seems so new about the property. Clean and large rooms. Great location for easy access to dining and waterfront. Beautiful view from right underneath the bridge. If you are a light sleeper I recommend not being near one of the entry or exit doors because they are solid and close well with a bit of a noise. Also, if you are at one of the rooms right under the bridge it can sound like thunder when a truck goes over one of the expansion joints that are basically right over your head.... Read more

I stayed for 3 nights and it was a very comfortable stay. The room was large, bed very comfortable and was very clean. The staff I interacted with were all very friendly and helpful, they made you feel important and welcomed. I only have two cons: their continental breakfast is not very good, I chose to skip it and pay for breakfast elsewhere in Astoria; and their $20 a night pet fee is on the high side.
