Recent stay for work...Friendly Staff upon check-in and throughout my stay. Great on-site restaurant had dinner and breakfast twice. No Free breakfast at this location, which was a disappointment for me and would have definitely changed my choice for Mansfield, Ohio being on a tight budget. Room was clean and comfortable . Had fridge and microwave too. Otherwise a very pleasant stay which is typical of all my Holiday Inn experiences.

Cons: Older downtown hotel - neighborhood not so great. Guest handbook noted "safety policy" several times. Room service was slow; had to call three times before someone answered - only used once - took 40 mins to get there; food is mediocre; they never came back for the tray; hallway had several trays on the floor waiting to be picked up. Pros: Room was updated w/ new appliances and TV. Comfortable bed & plenty of pillows. Desk staff very friendly.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield for 2 nights. Our primary reason was to visit the Mansfield Reformatory where the movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed. The hotel itself is a short walk away from the downtown area. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond assisting us. The hotel lobby was modern and spacious and also had easy access from the rear parking lot to get our luggage in. Even though there were smoking rooms the hallways did not have any odour . Our none smoking ... Read more

This is a very basic holiday inn. It's attached to the Renaissance theater so if you are here for that then this is a good hotel. There's nothing fancy or nice about any of it. Just straightforward. They do have a great reception staff and everyone was very friendly. The rooms are pretty barren and the bathrooms are basic but they get the job done. It's a convenient hotel if your business is in downtown mansfield. Would stay aging but would look for better options first.

Pros: Location, Building is relatively nice. Cons: Beds were not comfortable in our room and amenities were slightly outdated. Overall: Seems like your best option when needing to stay near downtown Mansfield.

We booked a room here as a halfway point between Cedar Point and Columbus. Big mistake. When we checked in, the bathroom stopper didn't work so we couldn't take a bath. We complained, and were switched to another room, but the stopper still didn't work. This room was even worse, the plumbing was backed up and the tub was filled with filthy, disgusting water that wouldn't drain. Nothing worse than taking a bath in someone else's water..... We complained again, but were met with indifference.... Read more

The hotel is well maintained, and the staff is friendly and nice. But there was some issues...The bathroom faucet looked like the previous patrons left their toothpaste spittle on it. The washcloth rolled up in the soap dish beside the sink was soaking wet. Ewwww. The hairdryer would work for a little while and then it would get too hot and shut off till it cooled down...this was quite inconvenient. Lastly, the power button on the remote didn't work at all. This was a pain as we had to get up to... Read more

Very nice staff. After a long time on the road, on premise dining was vert welcome. Room was very nice. It was kind of off of the beaten track, but worth the extra 5 minutes to get here. One surprising thing, they still have smoking rooms. It may be a good thing for you, but not for me. Make sure you check you reservation

First time visit to Mansfield to see an old friend. Mansfield is a tough city. The holiday inn in downtown was my oasis of safety and security. Staff was great. Friendly, attentive. The room was unexceptional. Clean and functional. Just like this town that has seen better days but tries to put on a good face, so does this hotel.

We stayed there for two nights and in everything was good. We were missing towels second day, but they were brought to our room in 2 minutes after calling front desk. Things like this happen, so no problem for us. One thing about the restaurant downstairs: service is slow and the older busboy whistles loud while walking around. Very annoying... But food is good.

I woke up at about 4 AM with numerous bug bites. I was able to catch one bed bug and brought this to the attention of the front desk attendant. She was very kind and assured me that my room would be comped and offered me free breakfast. Unfortunately, she stated that they did not have any other rooms available. She also assured me that the manager would contact me when he arrived. At 9am, the day shift front desk attendant called me. I did speak with her and asked to speak with the general manag... Although you could tell it was an older building, it was apparent that they work to keep it clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the heated pool, and the hot tub was very relaxing. The staff was very friendly as well. We paid a small amount extra at booking to get breakfast at the restaurant included, but saved compared to if we'd bought it separate.

I arrived at this hotel late Saturday night after attending a wedding. Upon arriving the front doors were locked (for safety reasons I'm sure). Once let into the building the front desk employee, Morgan, ignored us while we stood at the counter waiting to be checked in. She rather continued her conversation with a co-worker from the snack bar, without so much as a hello. As we stood there with all of our luggage and coats waiting for her to finish she finally looked up to ask, "How can I help yo... Read more

We have travelled abroad several times, and would have been thrilled to find this place during foreign travel. So against that back drop, my complaints about this hotel are petty. Americans, we are spoiled by the American hotel industry. So here goes: nice room with very comfortable bed, and nice bath, all updated recently, convenient parking. Which covers the most important bases and why I give it 4 stars. Problems with both our key cards not unlocking the door, even when replaced with ne... Read more

We stayed on the 6th floor and it was a good visit. The location was right downtown Mansfield. We stayed as we were going to visit the haunted prison at midnight. Taxi service to the prison was affordable and better than paying for parking in our opinion. The hotel was average. Clean, acceptable. Issues: walls are thin - could hear children in the next room and baby crying all night; We had to wait for them to check the room when we checked in and then we had an issue with the TV, servic... Front desk staff are great. Issiah had me checked in in no time and was able to give me a quick run down on the hotel's features and amenities. I had dinner and breakfast in the dining room. For dinner I had ordered a simple chicken ceasar salad. It took 45 minutes to arrive at the table - and there were only 3 people in the dining room at the time. The waitress was doubling as bar tender where several patrons were watching that night's world series game. Later, i went down to the pool and hot... Read more

Stayed here a few times over the last five years. Never had a problem. They have a nice pool/hot tub area in the basement. Comfortable beds. The wifi was good and strong. Not to far away from the old Mansfield reformatory.

The Holiday Inn in Mansfield has an excellent, helpful, friendly staff. The area around the hotel is not inspiring although the Renaissance Theatre is close by. The room itself is comfortable with microwave, refrigerator. There is a small fitness center plus a pool/hot tub. We took the "Shawshank Trail" tracing the film as well as visiting historic Malabar Farm State Park and restaurant.

We stayed here for a night while driving down to Cincinnati. The hotel was nice and clean. The parking was not convenient with it being in the back of the hotel. The room was nice and large and reasonably clean.

The walls in my room had black mold growing on it, especially around the heating unit. I thought to myself how can the staff be unaware of this?????? Upon checking out on a Sunday ( 3 days earlier than we had booked for) i had a chat with a member of their maintenance crew in the hallway to report the mold. I was completely shocked when he told me they're aware of the problem and its due to the roof that used to leak but its been fixed now so it shouldn't get any worse. I will never book with ...
