We stayed here along with 20 family members for my daughter's graduation from Ohio State (Go Bucks!). We booked a block of rooms as well as a room and dinner for Saturday night. All I can say is everything was perfect! The rooms were lovely and seemed a bit larger than typical Hyatt rooms. Everything was updated and spotless. The staff was tremendous, from front desk to bellhop to Jennifer Pringle with whom we dealt for our dinner. Everyone was pleasant and eager to assist. The location i... Read more

Hotel was nice and staff was friendly but the price was to expensive for the inside not being what I would expect. It was designed more like a convention center than luxury hotel. The elevators were under construction and it was very long waits. The gift shop and parking were extremely overpriced as if I thought the room price wasnt already expensive!

It was a nice hotel, very busy the weekend I was there. There were about 4 other events happening at the hotel and conference center that weekend. There was a long wait for the elevators, but once I found the service elevator, that was much better. The Market Café Restaurant at the hotel gave my coworker and I food poising. The staff was nice, the rooms were average. I would expect better accommodations for the price...however I am used to traveling for work weekly and staying at "business trav... Read more

I stay at Hyatt's two to three nights per month. The Regency Columbus is above average as the rooms seem to have been redone in the last five years or so. Nice size and look including the bathroom. Check-in was efficient courtesy of a friendly staff. Check-out was equally so. Great location downtown. I walked to my meeting in five minutes. I also walked to a Clippers baseball game in no more than 15 minutes. If it's winter, one can walk to a Blue Jackets hockey game in 5. One negative h... Read more

This hotel is safe and exceptionally clean, beds are comfortable for a good nights sleep, the room and bathrooms were up-to-date and everything worked as it should. The WIFI was also good. You do have to pay for parking separately so you may want to inquire about the charge at the time of making your reservation.

This Hyatt is in a great location. It is very close to the highway and tons of stores, restaurants and shops are within walking distance. It is a few blocks from the North Market and is attached to the convention center. The room was nice, bed very comfortable, nice sized tv (with pay-per-view movies). It was a king and you have a choice between a standard king and a corner king room. I had a corner king room which was fine for one person but the space is condensed. The corner kings have... I can't really rate this hotel yet since I've only been here a few minutes. But, the very first thing that happened is that I discovered the hotel changed my reservation without telling me. I'm here 4 nights and wanted the Corner King room. It wasn't available for all 4, so I booked it for the 3 it was available and took a standard double for the extra night. Consistency is what chains provide, and for good reason. The only thing good about a surprise is when it is a plus. On the plus side, the staff are eager and friendly and answered several needs promptly. They readily changed us from a twin double room to a single king. An elevator out of service was supplemented by service elevators being offered and well signed. Unwelcome surprises were: a rather small room, a confusing layout to the complex, which connects to the Convention Center and nea... Read more

This hotel is big and cavernous and not very cozy. It feels and looks like something built in the 70's when lots of concrete was the "in" thing. Rooms are average. Elevator wait time is very long with only 4 elevators for 600+ rooms and one of them was out of order making it worse. Beds are comfortable. This hotel is fine for a meeting but if you're looking for an intimate feel look elsewhere.

This hotel in Columbus is great. We combined this with a visit to Hocking Hills State Park. We needed a good large breakfast to fuel our hike and the breakfast buffet suited us perfectly. The Hyatt in Columbus was the site of a large dance convention I attended in July, 2016. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The Conference rooms and ballroom were well equipped for our workshops and meetings, with the exception of missing wastebaskets, and widely varying quality of dance floor surfaces. I'm writing this review for one reason: the elevators. Before you book here call and ask if they have finished their work/renovations on the elevators. They have decided to shut them down one at a time and run the service elevators during "busy" times of the day. This meant the average wait time for an elevator was 10 minutes, but during peak times it was 30 minutes at least. On Sunday morning I waited 45 minutes for an elevator and I was only on the 9th floor. There were a lot of upset people ... Read more

I stay here often. Usually in the Corner King suites. They are really lovely. The Valet people are great, front desk too. Michael at the bar on the 2nd floor was a delight. The elevators however were stupidly slow and for the most part, you simply gave up going to your room during the day. This hotel is attached to the convention center and is in no way equipped to handle the load. Seriously, the wait for an elevator could exceed 30 minutes or longer. The cost of my stay was covered by the conference sponsor, so I can't comment on that. The lack of an airport shuttle was inconvenient but taxis are available and the bus stop is also nearby.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in Columbus! The room was very nice with a great city view. I didn't notice until the morning of my check-out that there were actually 2 thermostats in the room. I did struggle a bit with temperature control and that is why. The bed was comfortable. There was an in-room fridge and coffee maker. The staff were very nice. I used valet and it was quick, inexpensive and convenient. It was connected to a conference center and aspects were under construction, but eve... Read more

Nice, clean and quiet. Staff was very professional and accommodating. Manual check-in and check-out processes were quick and easy; hotel offers an online check-in too. Great business facilities. Internet access was above average for hotels.

This is a basic large convention-center hotel. It's attached to the convention center so if you are in town for that, great. We were not, so it was not great. The rooms were ok, the service was ok, there was not a lot of noise, which is good, and you might get some great views from this hotel. It turned out not to be a great location for our needs, and the parking garage is a few blocks away and is a hassle to access if you need to do so regularly, which we did (unless you want to pay $24 a day... I highly recommend this hotel for work or pleasure. I stayed for work and the room was quiet with a nice desk for working. The rooms were clean and updated. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I had a very nice stay.

This hotel, while under some construction as a result of the expanding convention center, is a real gem for the city. Right in the middle of town, there are excellent restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance so foodies won't be disappointed. The rooms are nicely appointed and the view is outstanding. My only complaint was a 'slow' TV in that whatever cable/satellite system they are using results in a lag when you switch from one channel to another which was very annoying but the kin... Read more

Visited this location for the Association for the Study of Higher Education national conference (1st time attendee). I was very comfortable in this facility. There really was no need to leave the complex as every thing a person would need is on-site. The construction is understood but really took away from the experience. I can see the real potential once the work is completed.

Booked last minute. Worked out perfectly, attached to convention center. The restaurant (bar 2) was wonderful with both my daughter and myself. The room was clean, good view overlooking the downtown area. And it was quiet given a Saturday night in that area.

Room wasn't ready when we tried checking in beacause they were "busy." Called 3 times before someone finally committed a room to me around 6pm. Our luggage sat on a luggage cart in the lobby, completely insecure. When we finally did check in we couldn't take the luggage cart to the room. They want to make sure to take as much of your money in tips as they possibly can. Temp control in room didn't work. Had to set on 60 to get room down under 72, otherwise heat cycled on. Final stray was having t... Read more

I expected a lot, but it was not the best experience I have had from a Hyatt. The decor is outdated, the food was okay, and it was always hot in our room. In my experience at other hotels, calls are answered quickly and I am greeted by name - in this case, it was hard to get a hold of anyone, and that little of touch of staff knowing your name was missing. In regards to location, there are many restaurants close by and the convention center is right there. The minus is that there is no gro... Read more

We had a workshop at this hotel for about 50 people. My request was to set the room for 50 people classroom style [tables and chairs]. We ordered a continental brakfast, plus additional coffee service and cokes later in the day. Upon getting to the meeting room, my workshop staff and the speaker noticed that the room was set up for only 38. No hotel staff were in sight and it took ten minutes to locate the banquets staff, who brought a table but did not finish setting up the room. My staff ... Read more

Convenient location for arena district, Short North, downtown. We stayed for two nights for a wedding and found it met our needs quite well. Used the "junior suite" to host other wedding guests and it was perfect -- soft seating area, 6-seat high top table, full size fridge, microwave, service counter.

Hyatt Regency Columbus is a basic convention center Hyatt. I previously stayed at the nearby Hilton, and was pleasantly surprised by the Hilton. Until the Hyatt is renovated, I would try for the Hilton instead. Positives: it was basically clean and very functional, particularly for convention center activity. It is also close to the Short North, one of the good blocks in Columbus for restaurants and bars. Negatives: it needs cosmetic work (stained and scratched wallpaper, a drop ceiling in ... Read more

On a recent business trip to Columbus I stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Check in was quick, easy and the staff was friendly but professional. I got a wonderful corner room on the 12th floor that had great views of downtown. Two whole sides of the room were windows, including the bathroom. While the room was comfortable for one, it might have been a bit tight for two. Loved the view. The furnishings were nice. Everything was clean. I was in meetings all the time so I can't speak to the restauran... Read more

I stayed here on business for 3 nights in September 2016. The hotel is part of an enormous convention centre. Checking in was very easy and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was pretty basic but spacious, it was fine for what I needed. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel loses points because the swimming pool was cold and very small/shallow. They also had a fire alarm go off at 3am which was very disturbing. The event lasted for 15 minutes with an extremely loud al... Read more

This hotel has an excellent location, walking distance to the Short North, minutes from the Airport, OSU, and Clintonville. Even better, the staff are excellent, friendly, helpful. The rooms are in really nice shape, the room we had was HUGE, and the hotel is very comfortable, with excellent breakfast and bar service. Highly recommended.

We had to change rooms because of an odor that wouldn't go away in the first room we checked into. In addition, the rooms were dirty, very dusty. Despite that uneasiness, the location was great. Walking distance to food and entertainment.

The Columbus hotel market has improved considerably in the last few years. The Hyatt Regency Columbus has fallen far behind. Pros: Convenient location to the Convention Center and Short North Large property which provides for Gold Passport Redemption Reasonable Fee for Valet Parking Cons: 30 minute wait for valet parking retrieval Very thin walls between rooms Poor/Slow customer service As a large property that is used to hosting groups I expected the service to be faster but the staff at ... Lovely view of the city, specifically the Arena and lit-up LeVeque tower. We went on our anniversary and were treated with a bottle of Chardonnay and candy. Could not have been a better experience. As a long-time resident of the city I finally had a chance to stay in arguably one of the best hotels in the city. Access to Short North/OSU and Arena District are all very walkable.

Hotel was convenient to the convention center. Staff were helpful and easy to work with. Quiet hotel even though it is very large. Elevators were easy to access and did not experience delays! Bed was comfortable and room was a nice size. Bathrooms are small. Room was generally clean, however, there was a 2 inch track around the entire outer edge of the room where you could see the dust where the vacuum does not easily reach. But it was very visible.
