From Autumn and LaShay at the front desk to Michele, Shirley, Jiya and Mary working the mezzanine, the service was both friendly and courteous. I know there are many others working behind the scene contributing to our pleasant stay. The HIE is within walking distance to many attractions and sights. There is also a free city shuttle available, if needed. This is a great area for sightseeing with many surprises!!

Holiday Inn Express was the best deal for the five of us. We had tickets for Matilda and wanted to explore Cleveland the next day. Check in was smooth and quick. Being a rewards member they offered late check out... we jumped on that, plus they gave us two drink tickets per person (2 people per room) with free appetizers ( cheese assortments, soft pretzels, cold cut meats, veggies). Stayed while in Cleveland for a holiday ceremony. Very surprised that motel has zero parking - budget an extra $24 for either valet parking or about $20 for parking on one of the lots in the area. Reception/lobby is narrow and noisy - not very welcoming. Front desk person was distracted and slow - first Holiday Inn Express anywhere that didn't recognize my being an IHG Rewards Club member. Check-out was much better. Rooms are gorgeous, but hardwood floors could use some work - both cleaning... Read more

Great location downtown, walking distance to 4th Street restaurants and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rooms are clean, modern and spacious. Hotel has valet parking only but there is a lot across the street that worked out to be cheaper for us as well. The hotel includes breakfast and during the week a happy hour with a couple of complimentary drinks. We would stay here again if we return to Cleveland.

Great shower pressure. The towels were so soft and smelled great!! The hotel is walking distance to everything we needed. Only bad thing is you can hear everything in the hallway while in your room. My husband and I stayed over Memorial Day weekend 2016. While the architecture on the inside and outside were great, the hotel was pretty average. We stayed on the 3rd floor (no view whatsoever) and it had hardwood floors making everything very loud. We could hear people accessing their rooms all night. Continental breakfast was average as well, which was to be expected. Big pro was the location. Walking distance to everything, even the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame which was over a mile but not terr... A no thrills branch that needs some renovation, as it is a bit run down. The buffet breakfast is minimal with lots of plastic and disposable that do not contribute to the conservation of Planet Earth. It is never the less a cheap option in downtown Cleveland that is alright for a night or two.

We stayed one night and, if ever again in the city ?? particularly downtown ?? would stay here again. Formerly, this hotel was the Cleveland National Bank (built in 1945) made evident by the stately columns adorning the exterior of the building. The lobby has been modified, but it is easy to imagine each side encased in wood with outlets for each bank teller. The lovely brass features on the (admittedly small) elevators also seem original. Once we arrived, the front desk person, Avantae, asked what brought us to town and we told him the Cleveland Clinic and he informed us that they had special rates for those visitors. He punched in the discount code and it saved us almost $100. We were very surprised and extremely grateful for him doing that. He has excellent customer service and was very friendly. The room was very clean and quiet. The bed a... Read more

That pretty much sums up my experience. I got there and 2 out of 3 elevators were being worked on. It took about 25 minutes before I was able to get to the room. Sound proofing could've been better. I had a corner room and the window was quite small. One morning the line in the breakfast area was so long I had to leave without getting any food. Bummer. On the other hand, location was excellent. The room was clean and the bed comfy. I probably would stay there again but ask for a different room... Read more

Room was fantastic, location was perfect. Walking distance to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is you're able to walk about 1/2 mile. Included breakfast which was basically a step above continental breakfast. Valet service for your car. Pleasant staff. Overall a very positive experience.

The hotel did a nice job of renovating an older building. The sleeping rooms are huge, bathroom is large as well. The complimentary breakfast is your typical spread for this kind of place, mediocre at best with very weak coffee. The gym is tiny and a bit disappointing, but got the job done. I literally watched two people approach the gym door clearly dressed for a workout only to turn around and leave. Not a deal breaker, but worth a mention!

When I came in I wasn't having a good day and wasn't really in the mood. I just wanted to check in and go into my room to get some rest. When I came down to the front desk I was greeted by Alyssa. She has a wonderful smile and did an amazing job at check in. Thank you.

Hotel was nice, rooms were big and clean, best feature "no carpets"! The front desk employee's were extremely nice and cheerful, nice welcome after a long drive! The free breakfast is basic but a sufficient start to the day! The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is fabulous, a must see for all music fans! It sits right in front of Lake Erie which is a beautiful setting. I would recommend this hotel to others visiting Clevelend.

Perfect location for catching an Indians or Cavs game or going to a show at Playhouse Square. During my stay, I walked to the lakefront, Rock Hall, Progressive Field and the theatre district with no worries about my safety. The restaurants of Fourth Street and the Chocolate Bar at the Arcade are across the street and next door, respectively. If you need a quick bite or forgot anything, check out the new Heinen's (grocery) up the street. The atrium is beautiful. I really enjoyed this propert... Read more

From the minute we walked into the lobby of this hotel, we were treated with warmth and courtesy. We were awarded an upgrade and ended up in a large, comfortable suite on the 13th floor overlooking Cleveland and Euclid Avenue. The location was perfect for walking around downtown, getting to Lola on 4th, and visiting The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Healthline was right outside the door so we used it to get to the Museum of Art and only a few blocks from the Red Line which we used getting to a... Read more

Me and my boyfriend came in from buffalo for a quick overnight stay for the Kanye west concert on 10/2. Our check in was not until 4pm so we went to the rock and roll hall of fame first- (literally walking distance from the hotel) when it was time to check in we pulled up and used the MVP valet service ($25) well worth it, i highly suggest you do it because there is no parking anywhere. They were quick and greeted us right away, i felt safe leaving my car in their hands. We then checked in, the ... Read more

We selected this hotel because of it's location. It is a great place to stay and see the city. The hotel has been renovated but it preserved it's charm. The rooms are huge, clean, quiet and comfortable. There is a happy hour as well as a great breakfast. Plus the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Cleveland and loved my entire experience. Initially, my thinking was..The Holiday Inn! Little did I know that when I drove up to a historic renovated building in the heart of downtown Cleveland, I was in for a treat. The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings, hard wood floors and large windows that capture an amazing view of the city's skyline. The bedding was comfortable, offering options of firm and soft pillows, the chair was comfortable after... Read more

I have to say the Holiday Inn has really upped their game with great friendly accommodating staff and this hotel was the friendliest. Everyone was friendly and always asked how your staff was. Besides that the rooms were large, love the wood floors instead of carpet, very clean, and close to restaurants, casino , and foo0tball stadium. Will stay again.

The room was VERY spacious with extra high ceilings. I had a corner room, so 2 views of downtown. The hardwood floors and wet bar with mini fridge were a nice touch. Also had a large shelf to lay out my clothes. The only negative would have to be parking. It was around the block and $30 for a 12 hour stay - do to a sporting event going on the same night. May just be easier to stay in the 'burbs next time.

We stayed for two nights at this property while in town to watch the Browns host the Patriots. We arrived and left our car with the friendly valet. We had booked a package that included parking, but I believe the rate would have been $25 per night. We had a slight delay checking in, as we arrived a little before the 4 pm check in time. The staff offered to store our luggage and we toured around downtown for a bit. The gentleman even put our beverages in a refrigerator to keep them frosty. W... Read more

Chose this hotel because of the location. Very close to go for an Indians or Cavaliers game. Not a bad walking distance to see the Browns. Rooms were clean & big (larger than your average Holiday Inn). Loved the fact that there was hard wood flooring in the room. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We had a drink and they came and found us to let us know that the room was ready now. The staff and service was excellent all weekend. This place is very central to everything. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for the World Series. Getting to the hotel from the airport was super easy. NOT A SAFE HOTEL!!!!! There was a mixup with my reservation. I was supposed to have a two night stay but was checked out after the first night. When I return the second evening to the hotel there was someone else in my room. My items had been packed up and put behind the desk. The general manager told me they had called my home phone but no message was left. Because I thought I had the room another night I left everything out making the room appear abandoned. Hotel not a year old yet. Staff great help, room very clean. Restaurant in hotel, food not too bad. Not a great selection. Bring your own snacks. Will stay here on next visit to Cleveland. Great for Cleveland Clinic patients. Valet parking for $18 a day and shuttles take you to all the clinic locations. No need to drive.

We've stayed here before and this is our go-to place when the Steelers play in Cleveland. Spacious room and clean hardwood floors, it's close to the restaurant our son works, plus they've stepped up their breakfast game. Even more convenient to the Q and Progressive Field. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a one night stay here for a concert at the House of Blues. The location is perfect; easily walkable to many restaurants and event venues. Our room was on the 13 floor and overlooked Playhouse Square, we had a lovely view of the chandelier. The rooms are spacious with huge windows. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff was very helpful. Overall, this was a nice stay and we would choose this hotel again.

I came to Cleveland for work and i stayed at this location. The young lady in valet, Jasmine was very nice. when i came to the front desk i was greeted by Alyssa and Lashay who was very nice to me as well. They also let me know where to go to have great food on 4th street and the free drinks the hotel gave. When I checked out I checked out with Alexandria who was nice and Curtis as well. So this hotel isn't all it's cracked up to be, I read some reviews before I booked this hotel and I can't really say they were misleading, but we just had a bad experience. The best part of the hotel was the staff, they were wonderful, very nice, professional, and accommodating, hats off to them, and thank you. Now as for the hotel you can tell that they have tried to update it, and it looks nice. Whats wrong with the hotel is to start with the elevators are extremely small, you can fit 4 ... Read more

This hotel does indeed have large, spacious rooms but I didn't find it very appealing. Hardwood floors in the rooms make it very easy to hear all the footsteps above you. Rooms facing Euclid (which we had) are incredibly noisy on Friday and Saturday nights (and we were on the 14th floor!) There was lots of rowdy guests too making noise in the halls. It was hard to get any sleep. In general, the place seems run down and overpriced ($24 per night for valet!). I wouldn't stay there again.
