Aloft's Cleveland hotel pulled a dirty trick on us. Our group of fifty seniors had reserved 30 rooms 2 months in advance. On the day of our arrival, Aloft canceled all 30 rooms. Why? Because the Cleveland Cavaliers had a playoff game that night and Aloft could re-sell our rooms at much higher rates for a substantial profit. So this review is just commenting on the greedy nature of the Aloft management. On the positive side, they did find 30 rooms for us, 17 miles away in Westlake at Extend... Read more

We were part of a group spending a night in Cleveland for an Indians game and visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of fame. Our personal reservation was made Feb. 29 and guaranteed with a credit card. At 10:30 am the day we were to arrive, our entire group was told the hotel was overbooked. We were stuck in a two star hotel, 16 miles from the Aloft and downtown Cleveland. We traveled by bus and the hotel was on a highway with no restaurants or bars in the hotel or in walking distance! One of our me... Read more

I recently stayed at Aloft and had a poor experience - very few food options for breakfast, snacks, lunch, especially if you want something substantial or at all healthy. Room was cheaply done and decorated - just by raising the poorly constructed blinds (which reminded me of simply hard paper), they came off the joint and broke. Wireless internet worked very little and staff didn't seem to care. Turns out, they kept giving me the wrong internet password and didn't bother to see if it had change... Read more

Cleveland's East Bank of the Flats is resurgent and the Aloft is a cool, comfortable, convenient place to make your home while you enjoy it. Ask for a room with a river view and you can admire the Cuyahoga in all its industrial glory. I love the various kinds of bridges, drawbridges, swing bridges and pull up bridges that you can see on a short walk. You can dine in the Flats or walk up the hill to some of Cleveland's best options. The hotel has a large lobby, check in, food service and bar on... Read more

First time in Cleveland, Aloft Downtown was very nice. I worried about dangerous areas having never been to Cleveland before, but this area is upscale, with many things to do in walking distance. Great view, hotel is nice and safe, parking is great, enjoyed walking down to the pier, there is a water taxi, live music, the weekends were filled with a younger crowd than me, My group was 30s age. The PunchBowl was fun with great food, bowling, darts, pool. Many nice places to eat, police presence is... Read more

The Hotel has a different layout you arrive at a lower level and take a elevator up the the reception area. They have carts available for you luggage, however, they are in short supply since many quests tend to keep them in their rooms. The room was a nice size with a very convertible bed. The bath room is small but has a good shower. We asked for a quite room based on other reviews so our room didn't have a view of the river. The staff was helpful particularly the valets. Great location, right by lots of new things in CLE (specifically the flats). Near bars and restaurants as well. First impression, nice clean room. Great shower (big!), comfy bed. Good views of the Cuyahoga river. The put a lot into a small space, someone was using their head. Closet space, shelf area, all nice touches One minor complaint would be lighting. The bathroom light controls the shower/ toilet area and the sink (they're separated by a sliding door). Fan goes on all the time and no do... Read more

Staying here currently, may ask to change rooms tomorrow...location is awesome, plenty of places to eat and drink. Coming from NYC ,I'm impressed with the neighborhood and price, BUT, even as a seasoned New Yorker, the noise level from the bars is truly terrible.

Based on the photos, we thought this would be a fun, modern makeover of an older industrial building. It was...sort of. The rooms were offered in 2 choices; With a view, which also meant noisier or without a view, which was "for lighter sleepers". We opted for the no-view-but-quieter room. We got to the room, and found that there were some oddities; First off, the only place from which you could watch tv was from bed. Secondly, there were NO drawers in which to store any clothes. We stayed for access to July 4th celebration. Location is great for access to revitalized Flats. Multiple restaurant choices within easy walking distance. Nice decor and comfortable rooms. Insulation from outside noise could be better. If you're a light sleeper, bring your ear plugs or white noise machine with you.

Very cool hotel in the newly revived Flats! Awesome location, walkable to tons of bars and restaurants. The water ferry is right across the street from the hotel, you can hop on it and go to Music Box Supper Club or any other spot across the water. Hotel was clean, super modern, and worked just fine for the one night we stayed. No complaints!

In Cleveland on a weekend trip to visit my daughter. We booked through Travelocity and got a more than reasonable rate for airfare and lodging at Aloft. The hotel is hip, modern and new. It's in the center of a growing nightlife on the water front of downtown. Our room faced the popular Punch Bowl club and it was clearly the place to be on a Friday night. The Aloft is directly across the parking lot and the RTA track from the club. All are conveniently located for cars and use of mass transit. ... Read more

This hotel is great for people who don't mind a little noise as there is a club on site and it is located across a parking lot from a number of loud bars. It is also kind of strange that you have to take an elevator up to the lobby from the street level. The actual hotel was difficult to find due to the area and streets. The hotel doesn't have a formal street entrance and you have to enter through the parking garage entrance. Once upstairs though, the hotel is very nice and modern, catering to the young adult crowd. We stayed for a wedding and the rooms were nice and large, but the bathroom wasn't very private. Upon my arrival in this hotel I was surprised about the fact that it was just opened. The hotel is really nice and the room I had was with a nice view on the bridge. Next to the hotel is a good Italian restaurant and across the street was a beer house where you can try different beers. The hotel has a Valet parking. You can order a breakfast from a menu. I was not really impressed by this breakfast but you can also choose to eat outside.

Room was decent, a little cramped but overall not bad. The room needed a thorough cleaning. The last night I was there the staff had a lapse in judgement and allowed some rowdy people to stay on the 2nd floor. They were reactive when they had to call the Beachwood PD at 2am to stop the noisey party. I was woken up twice by those people, 1am and 1:42 1am. Otherwise if they give the room I was in a thorough cleaning everything should be better.

We had high expectations for Aloft in Cleveland. As a relatively new hotel we were a little surprised that the room was seemingly a little run down...shade off its track, bathroom sink slow draining with some metal bits tarnished ... and noisy bathroom fan. I'm not sure how this Aloft is a vision of a W hotel. Nevertheless, the bed is absolutely dreamy and the television programming is great. I am amazing that this approach to hotels has appeared. While aLoft clearly tries to use trendy modern decor, this is very much like a dorm room. Cement floors throughout, inexpensive furnishings, fabrics, and design. The bed/end tables are one piece of built-in furniture. The desk is built into the wall. A hanging rack replaces the closet.
