We don't normally stay at Hilton hotels and this visit did nothing to change that. Yes, this is an historic building and the architecture is nice but that's where it stops. The service across the board was very average. There was obviously a number of functions going on at the hotel and the staff seemed to be struggling to cope with the workload. We checked in at around 10pm and took advantage of the valet parking which we had to drive around the block to get to. The valet guys(who don't seem ... Read more

I've traveled to Cincinnati on business for the past 6 years. During that time there was significant development downtown. Several new hotels were built and I tried them all. They are all quite nice but none compare to the Hilton Netherlands. The character and charm of the hotel are outstanding. Add in superior service, award winning dining and a vibrant bar and the Hilton stands alone at the top. You will not find a better staff whether it's the front desk, the bar tenders or the administ... Read more

As far as a luxury hotel this Hilton is a mixed bag. The decor, location and the sheer history of this place was incredible and I loved that they have restored it as well as embraced the history by including artifacts and articles from it's past. The room we had was extremely small and yet the desk tried to tell us that we would have "more room" in this room. I doubt that seriously and suspect that was his ploy to pawn off a less desirable room. The decor was lovely but extremely dark (I lite... Read more

Being an avid baseball fan, I like to travel and see a new ball park each year. This year I chose to see Great American Ballpark. Before deciding on the Hilton, I looked at several hotels close to the ballpark, and this one came highly recommended. I booked my reservation two months ago, and once I arrived at the hotel, I knew I made the right decision. Being an Hilton Honors member I was able to check in online before my arrival. I had selected a room on the 29th floor, but I was unsure if my... Read more

The main areas of the hotel, lobby, restaurant, bar and especially the Hall of Mirrors ballroom are gorgeous! I love the fact that the facility was restored to its former glory. The guest rooms are a little small, but very functional, clean, and have a retro flare. The conference rooms are functional. Food was excellent! For lunch, try the burger in the restaurant. we had a wonderful large room, with 2 club chairs on the 29th floor. nice bathrobes and chocolate at check-in and on our pillows. we choose club service, it was underwhelming. Don't miss Orchids at Palm Court in the first floor and Hall of Mirrors in the third floor, which are the typical neoclassic decorations. The hotel is older, but well kept. I was impressed by the styling and the staff was very helpful. Location made a difference, since it was connected to a mall of sorts. Didn't use the jacuzzi but cool that it had one. I found the bathroom to be a bit small, but may just be the way the vintage hotel is designed. Was more impressed by the event and banquet area, as our organization hosted a banquet in the Hall of Mirrors -- gorgeous.

The glory of the hotel's past greets you as soon as you walk in the door. We did not stay at the hotel but a friend and I stopped to check it out and have a libation and appetizer. What a visual fiesta. Lots to take in. Our drinks were cold and we were taken care of quickly. The app offerings were a short list but interesting. Our dessert was mediocre and disappointing. The Netherland Plaza is simply a classic. Its interior spaces - bar and restaurant, lobby, and entrance - are sure to please anyone who enjoys art deco architecture. Given that this is an older hotel, it is certainly true that some of the rooms can be small/quirky. Personally, I think that adds to the charm of the hotel. I stayed here whilst attending a conference at the nearby Duke Energy Convention Centre. The King bed room overlooked Fountain Square and the city and was comfortable and spacious and extremely clean. I had buffet breakfast on the first morning and the waiter provided excellent service. The interior of the hotel was Art Deco style and the hotel is generally of a vintage appearance but in my opinion beats modern any day.

My first time here for business will also be my last. I get the whole "historic" hotel thing but that is only cool if it is impeccably maintained. Many places in Europe pull it off as do some places in the U.S.. This place is not one of them. The room is smaller than most European hotels and I am a Diamond member of Hilton. Stayed at the hotel on June 12. It was hot, gorgeous day. The hotel room was high above the city with gorgeous views of the Ohio river and skyline. The hotel price was over rated for the quality of the room. The bed mattress was extremely firm, pillows were great. Cleanliness was a 3 because it was dated and a little dusty. The bathroom was VERY small. Great toiletries. Starbucks is in walking distance in the morning. Front desk staff was a bit pretentious. All in all, not bad.

The Carew Tower located within the Hilton Omni Netherland Hotel is a nice bonus while staying at this location. This historic hotel has interesting décor and rooms which clean and maintained in order to retain the rich history. Check-In can be a bit challenging when using the self-serve parking garage as there are two (2) sets of elevators, thus a challenge when navigating to the Front Desk. I would highly recommend the Valet parking thus avoiding this issue.

All was great at hotel except bathroom sink didn't drain properly but hotel front desk graiciosly addressed my concern when I checked out. They also followed up with a letter to me regarding my concern which I thought was really nice. All of the staff members I encountered were very polite and ready to assist.

Stayed Friday and Saturday nights the first weekend in November-2016. We stayed in one of the basic rooms (around $100). It was nice and clean. You don't want to stand to close to the toilet when you flush - it might pull you in. The room was a little loud you could hear the next room toilet flush and we were close to the elevator. Looks like they must do a lot of receptions, there were many people dressed to kill. I would guess the reception rooms were beautiful if they were anything like t... Read more

Beautiful hotel and restaurant/bar. My fellow seminar attendees were wowed by the gorgeous bar. The room was very nice including a free upgrade without asking. The free gym/pool was large and convenient. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We chose the Hilton for its proximity to the Duke Energy Center (convention center) ,as we were in town for a sports competition, and fountain square. We were not disappointed! The hotel is a beautiful, old historic hotel but still has all the modern conveniences. Every staff member from the valet to the cleaning people were helpful, nice and friendly! Our particular room was on the 29th floor (top) with a river view, 2 double beds, deluxe (which I think just meant 2 chairs also) it was a great... Read more

Everything about this Hilton was outstanding. It's in a beautiful historical building which makes you feel like a million bucks when you walk through the doors! Everyone bent over backwards to help. Also, the location is fantastic! Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel for a short business trip. In general I like the historic hotels, as long as I can get all the usual modern conveniences. Front desk was a bit slow. Room was fine. Layout is a bit confusing for a newcomer. Free morning coffee in the lobby (which I have come to expect from Hiltons) would have been nice. They did have a coffee cart.

First, the positive. Netherland is an absolutely beautifully restored Art Decco style hotel from the 30's. I stayed there for a recent conference and honestly felt I was in the movie the Shining! Wonderfully designed and restored conference, lobby and dining facilities. The rooms, however, come up short. As could be expected of a "historic" hotel, the rooms tiny to say the least. Noise from other roooms was palpable, the room and hallways all smelled musty. In brief, great place for an ev... Read more

Having stayed at the Hilton at Netherland Plaza a few times I thought it was time for a review. William F. Lamb who designed the Empire State Building also designed this property so as you can expect there's plenty of detail. We have stayed in Jr. Suite's and having a separate room makes the difference when traveling with our kids. Also, the Belvedere Club is a nice touch if you're gold status with Hilton. Lastly, the location is another reason we stay here. You're within walking distance of ... Read more

Knew absolutely nothing about the hotel. What a gem, located in the heart of the city, it's surrounded by amazing restaurants, shopping and with-in walking distance to anything you could imagine/ the hotel stands alone as a place to visit irregardless of staying there.

Throughout my stay at the Netherlands Plaza Hilton I was frequently bombarded by the historical import of the building. Each public area is a reminder of the grandeur of the modernist, Art Deco era in urban downtown areas. While the sleeping rooms were fairly normal Hilton quality, it was the common areas that were a trip back in time. I cannot wait to return with my spouse to relive the experience.

Love history and historic buildings? This is a must see! The hotel services were positive experiences too. I attended for a conference and found the conference banquet to have the best coordinated service and wait staff!

What made this a great visit was all the way back in the fifties and sixties with a great mall right next door which we called Mabley and Carew. During the holidays Santa Claus would visit each department store to tell the children hello, and there was this big fine dining restaurant inside of the Netherland Hilton. They pipe music into the mall and their lobby, and on a Winters morning its a very distinctive place for some dining out experience a square away from fountain square. With the finest of... I've stayed here often, but all the amenities are extra once you drop from gold to silver with HHONORS. It makes mornings very inconvenient. Also, the cleaning staff missed several items (including a tissue on the floor, socks, and a straight pin) when cleaning my room. I visit Cincinnati often but will start staying elsewhere.

Spent three night in Cincy at the Hilton Netherland Plaza. Amazing place! Main Dining area is like something out of an old movie! Even had breakfast/munchies out on the deck a dozen or so stories up. Everything A+. If you are in Cincy...go!
