Bad service, got charged for the wrong room. Card reader doesn't read on the roo Been switching room back and forth. No manager on site. Been told we'll get $ credit, but never did. Was told we'll get military discount for our service, but was later lied to. Rooms don't have working vents (no fans)

Stayed 4 nights with coworkers on a business trip at this location and was upgraded to a King bed for my Gold rewards membership. At the time of this review, there are very few chain motels in this small city, so consider your options. No complaints and for an older hotel it is kept up well, in opinion. Everything is HIE standard. The pillow top mattresses are comfortable although worn down to a horseshoe shape from age. Consider new mattresses when the budget allows. Will stay here again when i... This hotel has the friendliest staff. The breakfast is fantastic and plenty of fresh delicious variety of foods. The rooms as spacious and very clean. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Devils Lake area.

This hotel is the perfect place for either personal or business travel. The facility was clean and well kept (I was surprised to learn that it was over 7 years old). The staff was very personable and interesting in making you comfortable. The breakfast buffet has everything you could want, including hot cinnamon rolls. I travel a lot on business and rarely post hotel reviews. If you are staying in the Devil's Lake area, this is the place to stay.

We had a 2 qn suite for 5 of us. The mattress on the sofa bed could be replaced, but the room was otherwise quiet and comfy. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, but everything was good and fresh. Misty even went above and beyond to locate a phone charger we left behind.

For the most part, our stay was very good. I had just expected a little more of the room we stayed in. First off, the check in on 6/25/16 was super. Really friendly and cheerful front desk. We travelled with my wife's 86 year old father who is on oxygen, so we requested and received a ground floor room for him. We got that with no problem. Since he was on the ground floor, we requested and got one also, with no problem. Both of our rooms were very clean, roomy and quiet. The first thing ... Read more

Stayed 7 nights at this location and was as expected for this hotel chain. This trip was a 2 queen bed room. The downside of this room was that there was no micro fridge combo or even just a fridge. I was surprised to say the least and did not request one. In all my travels, most HIE's have a mini fridge and or microwave. Also, this hotel needs remodeling. The paint is marked up well and there is many stains on the carpets. In addition, they did not get the bill right and changed the rate on he ... Read more

Excellent staff/pool/breakfast....I needed a document faxed to me at the hotel from my insurance company and they took forever. The staff were kind enough to scan and e-mail me the document so that I could check out and get on the road. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to take care of our unique situation. I have stayed in Devils Lake many times and this is the only hotel I will ever stay at again when I'm in the area. Highly recommended, clean rooms, nice pool/hot tub area!

Although in recent years this particular brand has indeed, spruced up to a high standard of competition their hotels, speaking of Holiday Inn express, it is somehow sad to see that this particular hotel in Devils Lake, has fallen behind. Room smelly, with carpet and chairs full of stains, not up to date furniture and walls/wall paper in shower with deteriorated and rusty finishes. Walls mostly with lack of fresh paint. As it is right now, the hotel do not deserve the Award it has for 2015 from T... Read more

Expensive for what it is - maybe they know they can get higher rates due to lack of competition. Bed was very comfortable after a very long day of work. Wi-fi worked well. The bathroom was clean, and everything functioned fine. The breakfast area was large, and there was an inviting common area with big, comfortable, fluffy chairs and warm fireplace. All in all, a solid hotel if you have business in the area, but because of the price, I probably wouldn't have stayed there if I didn't have points... Read more

We did not have a reservation which is not usual for us, but we did not know how far we would drive that day. We had no problem getting a king suite, although the rate even with AAA was higher than similar chains. Hotel and room were clean, with a large bathroom. Tub was larger than in some chains. Good breakfast. The only real issue was the lighting in the room was poor. (This is not the only chain where this is an issue.) When you come in the door, there is an overhead light that is lo... This is a newer property. It is nice, clean, and quiet. Rooms are comfortable and bright. Beds are of good quality. Bathrooms are nice and updated. I like this place. However, I really don't think that I am going to wake up the next day and do brain surgery :-)

The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful in sending us to a good place to eat and he also suggested a great place for refreshments after. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean! The price was definitely worth it for the room we stayed in! Thanks!

We started our visit great with the front desk clerk who was very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast had variety, but a long black hair was found in my sausage gravy, unfortunately it wasn't mine.

This seems to be a fairly new motel - right off #2 in Devil's Lake. The staff was very nice - and the king room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. There was no mini fridge and no microwave (evidently, those come with the 'suites'). I've come to expect the fridge, in particular - for keeping the food cold that I will take on the road the next morning. There was a Keurig which was a plus - and also a laundry area (washer/dryer) for guests. Breakfast buffet was good. I didn't take advantage o... Read more

It looks like it could use a little facelift. The carpet in my room inspired me to leave my socks on and the pillows on the bed looked like they had been played against. No refrigerator in room which is mostly common now.

I stayed here for business. Even though I booked two kings for me and my coworker, we got a king and a queen; I gave the king to the coworker. Not a big deal, though. There was no fridge or microwave in my room, even though the room was advertised as having one. However, when I inquired at the desk, both were brought up as quickly as possible. The front desk staff were friendly and very customer service oriented. High praise for every staff person I met. The room was comfortable, clean, and lai... Read more
