Staff is very pleasant. Bed is OK. Room (single king) has plenty of space. The carpets are dated and the plaster on the walls and the sound soak on the ceiling are showing wear. Closet door doesn't work smoothly. Insufficient electrical outlets at the desk.

We had a nice stay at the Marriott in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Conviently located in downtown Winston-Salem.The hotel room was average Marriott. The staff was friendly and efficient. The concierge floor was good.

Clean, comfortable and well appointed option in downtown Winston-Salem, in easy walking distance to all of the downtown corporate offices and the like. Staff is super friendly and the restaurant is a good option if you're not inclined to leave the premises.

The service was excellent but the property is in desperate need of a makeover. The rooms are mediocre with just a fair bathroom. Much of the plumbing needs to be replaced. The best part were the people who were all attentive and willing to help at all cost. Location is great though! The internet is very slow unless you pay extra.

We recently stayed here on a business trip. I t was Mother's Day and the staff was recognizing mothers with a great smile and a small gift. Nice since I was not a home for this. The rooms were spacious and clean. The view of Downtown Winston Salem from the 6th floor was also very nice. The Valet Parking was quick and courteous, offered to give us directions or suggestions if we needed them. The hotel dinning room was also comfortable and the food was good. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with... Read more

Stayed a couple of nights over a weekend at the Winston Salem Marriott. We took two rooms for our family of four. We only had two issues as it relates to the hotel service: (i) Though we had asked for adjoining rooms, the hotel was not able to accommodate and so we were a couple of floors apart. not a huge deal for us, but perhaps more problematic for families with younger kids (ii) We needed a handicap accessible room for an elderly family member, but unfortunately the hotel had run out ... Our rating is based mainly on the staff we encountered in our one-night stay. Nothing was too much trouble. When we wanted to explore the neighborhood along 4th street, one of the desk clerks found a restaurant we asked about on his personal phone, came around the desk and read the walking directions to us. After enjoying a succulent Mediterranean meal, we and two family members returned to the hotel, hoping for some catch-up time. Savor Restaurant provided that opportunity and although we ... Read more

Good business hotel & service. A bit crowded but all the amenities. Wifi leaves something to be desired, keeps disconnecting. Location is excellent and many parts of downtown are walkable. Rooms are of good quality and friendly staff. Will use again.

Booked the Salute Wine festival with tickets. Price was really where to park so you have to get vallet parking. Overalls experience was great...we got there before check in time so they held our bags for us until later. Lobby was spacious, bar was nice and busy...rooms were ready as expected with all furnishings. Room and linen was clean, pillows were soft and they have a late check out of 12:00 which is a plus. Will return!

Hotel very nice. Great bar. Great location , can walk to several restaurants. Air conditioner did not very good in rooms. Both our room and several friends said room was too warm to sleep comfortably. Beds were comfortable. Just wished the air worked a little better Hotel staff were all very nice.

Spent a night at the hotel and enjoyed our stay here. On arrival the parking outside was just too crowded and we had to wait for about 15 mins to get to the valet. PWe were disappointed. However when we walked into the building, it had modern decor. Staff was friendly. Our rooms had a beautiful view. Beds and pillows very comfy. Breakfast was super expensive. Bathtub is on the slippery side so had to be super careful. Ice maker on our floor wasn't working. Parking was $18. Other than that ... Read more

I was just in Winston Salem for short business trip. I was treated ever so nicely. I was given a large room on the top floor and I had a wonderful town view. The room was well maintained , clean and all I good ask for. The front desk made dinner reservation at a very good restaurant nearby. Everything went smoothly and I would go back

Clean, spacious hotel with the service I've come to expect from Marriott. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem. It connects to the Doubletree Hotel and a public parking deck by walkway. The hotel offers valet parking but the public parking is incredibly convenient and much cheaper. There is a restaurant onsite that offers room service and a buffet breakfast with made to order omelets. You'll easily spend $20 per person on a meal here. The convention center is just across the... There are pluses and minuses to this place, but overall I would stay here again. Pluses - Lobby is really nice Service is really good at the hotel Workout room is really nice and equipment is good You can walk everywhere from here, and downtown is perfectly safe (one other reviewer said the area is not safe, this is total and utter rubbish) Minuses - Parking is way too expensive, especially the valet. This hotel is in a good location in downtown. Rooms are nicely appointed and beds are great as usual. The restaurant in the lobby is open late and checkin process was fast and painless. However, the bathtub drained horribly slow and so did the sink. The iron in the room operated poorly also. I placed my breakfast order outside my door so that I would be able to eat breakfast while getting ready. I requested breakfast to please be delivered between 6:15-6:30AM. Hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful, but the hotel was in serious need of maintenance control. Staff was reactive, rather than proactive. At check-in, cars were allowed to park in the no-parking fire lane, and the check-in lanes were backed up into the street. Entrance was blocked by cars left in the lanes without driers or passengers. Thus, if you had completed your checkin, you had to wit for other customers to finish their checkin, take their bags to their room, then return the... Read more

Updated restaurant and bar area, rooms are tired and old, facility is just not up to par with other Marriotts. Not many choices downtown Winston, stayed here 25-40 times over the past 5 years and it is the best option. Food is average, service is average, valet good, I would suggest other locations but not allot downtown to choose from in WS.

The check-in was seamless until they informed me that the pool was out. We'd have to go across the street to another hotel and use there pool??? but our event is in this hotel. Nevertheless, we went o to our room. The room was okay. Not to Marriott standard though. The service for the event was great. My room included breakfast. We journeyed to the resturant. Our rooms were not up to usual Marriott standards. The stopper for both bathrooms was missing. It took hours before we finally had one stopper. The sink was cracked and glued back together like a Kintsugi but not as pretty. The carpet in both rooms was dirty. The maid came in on us while we were dressing for the homeschool graduation. She never knocked. We had to park in a parking garage and it was expensive. They told us to be quiet after 10:00 p.m. but the people on our floor kept us awake wel... Read more

Updated Lobby, but that's about it. I suspect that this is a franchised property. They adhere to Marriott minimum building standards but that's about it. Rooms have dated furniture, wall hangings, bathroom, etc. Staff go out of their way to exceed expectations. Got upgraded to Concierge floor and had access to the lounge. This hotel was located downtown and close to numerous restaurants, and entertainment. The staff was friendly and helpful especially in the concierge lounge. Parking is convenient across the street in a garage with a dedicated covered walkway to the second floor of the hotel. Very convenient during bad weather.

Of all the hotels I have stayed in over the years, this Marriott has to have the best security I have ever seen. Traveling as a lone female, security is very important to me. Thank you to Officer Johnson for the kindness you showed me during my stay. You were very helpful!!

Location was ideal for exploring downtown Winston. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Getting a Full breakfast buffet was a bonus. Wait staff in Restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately we stayed on the weekend and many shops downtown close Friday at 5pm before we arrived. Saturday we explored Old Salem which is a little far to walk from this location. Over all the hotel was a good experience.

Good location in a smallish downtown. Room is good, gym a nice size and breakfast a high standard. It does just fine but its not a hotel to get excited about, but neither will you be disappointed - depending on how much you pay for the room. I would struggle to justify upwards of $150

We have stayed here a couple of times for one night each while traveling to/from South Carolina. Mr. Fant has made sure all of our requests were considered and we were happy with both stays. Hotel is very nice with a good bar area and restaurant. There are many other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel that are nice as well. We will stay again when traveling through the area.

As another reviewer said, a good solid hotel, no flash. If you park your car in the garage you enter the hotel over a pedestrian bridge that is sorely in need of attention. The carpet is buckled and burnt by the sun in places. The doors need a coat of paint. The elevators have several different themes. Our room had a cracked sink, really, on the concierge level? It is a well-kept property, decorated in typical Marriott style. The bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and the ice cream I ordered from room service tasty and a larger serving than expected. I appreciate the free internet, something that seems to be more common at Marriott hotels recently. But speaking of electronics, 1 plug at the desk is not sufficient for today's business traveler. I used it to plug in my laptop, but had to plug my phone and ipad into a charger by the bed. And e... Read more

Since my daughter attends Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem I have stayed at this hotel before but it is showing it's age. Rooms and bathrooms are dated. The bathroom tub and sink drain extremely slowly, HVAC within the rooms give off a musty/mildew smell.
